I've come across a very strange YouTube channel. It was set
up just two weeks ago by somebody who has never used social media in this way
before. He did it especially to document a discovery he has made. The story
begins when he was digging in the ground; he doesn't explain why, probably to
avoid doxing himself. He has gone to great effort to preserve his anonymity,
probably with good cause. If his story is true then he is in grave danger, for
several reasons. While digging he came across a buried metal object that burned
his hand when he touched it, even though it is not glowing as hot metal tends
to. There is no obvious source of heat close to the object. He managed to
excavate the object and took it to his car using cloth to carry it and then
took it home. He placed it in a locked cellar in his house and has been doing
tests on it. He also moved it to his garden and did some more there. It is
about two and half feet long and about three or four inches wide. It weighs
fifteen pounds. It is a silvery metallic cylinder with done shaped caps at each
end. On the caps are engravings that resemble those on the Buga Sphere, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48VUnmsTk-c.
They are slightly different in detail though. The uploader reports feeling ill
when spending time close to the object and it makes the lights in the cellar
flicker when he comes close to it, as if the object is reacting to his
presence. It has also given him a skin rash on his knee. Despite this, his pet
cat doesn't seem to mind it and a ladybird crawled over it when he took it
outside. At one point he turns his back for a few minutes in the garden and the
object appeared to move by itself. At least, it was lying on the grass when he
came back to it. In the last day or two the situation has become more serious
because he used a Geiger counter on the object and got very high readings. I
left this comment: "Holy excrement!
You'd better get checked out in ER (A&E), mate. Seriously. You don't need
to tell them why you got exposed." The radiation from this object
could indeed badly damage his health or that of others living in his home.
Another danger comes from the government. They may try to confiscate his
finding and/or harass him for retrieving it without reporting it. The witness
knows this and actually wants to give the tube away as quickly as possible to
somebody independent of the government who has the means to deal with it. His
viewers have recommended several people; George Knapp, Bob Bigelow, Elon Musk
and several others. Source: https://www.youtube.com/@James-d6l9n.
The man uploads almost every day with simple edits; no
titles or effects. The videos are usually just a couple of minutes long. His
analysis videos are a bit longer. He does this sometimes just to let his
viewers know he is okay. He receives many comments since his channel has grown
in popularity; some of them are supportive; others cynical and even abusive,
predictably. He has a public email and SubReddit as well as his YouTube
channel. He only ever identifies himself as "James" and he lives
somewhere in the United States .
That's all we know about him. What is the object? That is something I can't answer
right now. If James knows how it came to be buried where he found it then he
doesn't reveal that information. He also doesn't tell us how he knew it was
there, if indeed he didn't just find it by potluck. It could be something
extraterrestrial, or something else esoteric. It looks very ordinary on film,
like it has been made by human hands in a workshop, similar one of the
"monoliths", see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2021/01/the-oxford-monolith.html.
Obviously the skeptics and backslappers will accuse him of making it himself
and inventing this story. However, we don't know that for sure either. I don't
know whether the Buga Sphere is real or not myself. James has not asked for any
money and is not selling anything. He even wants to donate the object itself
for free to the right person. Because of its consistency and the engravings we
can hazard a guess that it comes from the same source at the Buga Sphere. Time
will tell, but I have emailed James and I'm keeping an eye on his channel. I do
hope he goes to see a doctor if he's been near that thing, and its Geiger
readings are correct. I also hope he'll be able to keep himself hidden from the
CIA, FBI or men-in-black who may well be looking for him. I'll post an update
if necessary.

Wow, what an interesting item. It forces me to ask myself what I would do in such a situation. My instinct would be to find out as much as possible about it before handing it over to any kind of authority. I would certainly video it and photograph it but NOT put it on YouTube or Reddit. I would weigh it and measure it but not try to scrape a sample or break it open. If it was making me feel sick I would be wanting to move it on fairly quickly to someone equipped with the requisite protection and the scientific tools to analyse it further. That begs the question as to who you can trust to put it in the public domain. In the UK I would contact yourself or maybe Gary Heseltine. He was a police officer so might be in a position to know how to keep things within the law. In the US I've no idea who would be best to trust.
I've watched about half of James' videos (the earlier half). Has he tested it to see if it floats on water? I would estimate the volume of the tube to be around 9 litres. That much water would weigh 9kg. The tube weighs 15 lbs which is only ~7kg so on that basis I would expect it to float unless I have overestimated the volume. Given that the lightest lustrous metal (aluminium) has 2.7x the density of water the low weight also suggests this is a mostly hollow cylinder.
If it's a fake then it's a good one done by a skilled metalworker who's gone to a lot of trouble.
I take a different view of this now I've seen all his posts, especially the last one where he claims the object is extremely radioactive. He refuses to show on video the Geiger counter being used to produce his claimed readings. His argument is that to do this would incriminate him in some way, but it's not clear to me why doing that would make a difference. If he is lying and the object is not radioactive then he could be prosecuted anyway for intentionally causing unnecessary alarm and distress with his post. If the object is as radioactive as he says then it would be a serious threat to his own health and the health of anyone unwittingly coming onto his property. Doing any more tests on it would certainly put him in danger. He would probably be breaking the law by retaining possession of it and needs to hand it over to someone with the expertise and equipment to handle it safely. Unfortunately the state and its corporate contractors have a monopoly on such expertise and there is no other way to go. Perhaps the best thing to do is to contact a researcher like Richard Dolan so it can be recorded as a ufology related find before it disappears forever. His existing video record would go a long way toward doing that.
Taking all of his story so far into account I'm inclined to see this as likely to be a hoax because his account doesn't seem coherent. He doesn't explain how he came to find the object in the desert. He obviously doesn't live in the desert. The landscape around his home reminds of what I've seen of Minnesota or Wisconsin and his accent suggests that area too. If he had shown the Geiger counter in action I would have been more inclined to believe him and I don't accept his explanation for not doing that.
Hi MT. I'm not sure what I would do in that situation. Certainly handing it over to the govt is a no-no. I'd like to give it to one of the big names in UFOlogy, but which one. I'm not as bad as a backslapper, but who can I trust. (What would a real backslapper like Andrew Johnson or Jeremy Rys do!?) Those tests are a good idea. They wouldn't necessarily tell you if it's hollow or not, but knowing its weight will tell you its density if you find out what kind of material it's name out of and then you can calculate. It might be fake, that's a possiblity.
Hi MT. Sorry I wrote a comment and its' vanished. I don't have time to write it all again. I'll answer you in the Reply to Comments vid.
No worries, I wrote a second comment having watched all of his stuff feeling less impressed and more skeptical. Maybe that's not appeared either.
hi MT. I've replied to this comment at the beginning of hour number 2 of Reply to Comments 117. It will be uploaded shortly.
Oh! Now the comment has appeared as "Anonymous". That's me actually.
Those are reasonable points, MT. I would also recommend Dolan or maybe Linda Moulton Howe. Somebody has suggested Jaime Maussan because of his experience with the Buga Sphere. On the plus side Jaime's community has shown itself capable of handling security. Remember when somebody tried to steal the Sphere? The downside is that Jaime sometimes follows very speculative leads.
