The Everest Conspiracy

Yesterday marked the sixtieth anniversary of the successful ascent of Mount Everest, the world's tallest mountain. See: At 29,035 feet, a climber near the summit faces danger from altitude sickness and cold as well as the perils of climbing itself. The mountain's summit was reached for the first time on May the 29th 1953 by two men, A New Zealander called Sir Edmund Hillary and a native from the local Sherpa culture, Tenzing Norgay. However this stirring tale has a dark secret, according to Jan van Helsing in his book paradoxically marketed under the title Don't Touch this Book! However, despite it being a dark secret I hope that it's true because it has a heartwarming conclusion.

Most first ascents of mountains have a single name of the first climber to step onto the summit. Even in a team of climbers, one individual will usually be selected to make the historic first footprint on the top. Everest is different because there are two names, both Hillary's and Norgay's. The two climbers, who were of course the only witnesses to the feat, held hands and walked up onto the very top of the world's highest mountain together. However when they returned to base camp, the expedition management gave Norgay a form to sign which they told him was just some formalities to do with insurance or tax etc. Norgay signed it. The problem was, that's not what the form said. What it really was, was a witness statement declaring something along the lines of: "I, Tenzing Norgay, saw Edmund Hillary step up onto the summit of Mount Everest first, and I only followed him up a few moments later." Norgay unfortunately could not read English; he had been tricked by people who, for whatever reason, wanted Hillary to be recorded as the sole first climber. All that the fraudsters now needed was Hillary's cooperation. Surely Edmund Hillary would have been quite happy not to have to share the glory and to claim that historic place for himself alone... wouldn't he? No. To his great credit, Hillary refused to betray his friend. He joined Norgay is exposing the expedition management's scam and to this day, sixty years later, the highest point on the Earth's surface still has two names next to its entry in the mightiest of human endeavours.

Hyperdimensional Vortex in Brighton

The Metro, a free newspaper distributed on buses, trains, railway stations and other public places related to transport, has published the most remarkable story, see: This story was picked up from The Argus, a local paper covering Brighton and Hove in East Sussex, see: An anonymous local resident has made a report on a website normally used to report public hazards and incidents involving local government services, like unemptied dustbins and broken traffic lights; their report seems to have now been removed, see: The person was walking their dog along Montreal Road in the Hanover area of Brighton when they realized that they had encountered a “wormhole or vortex… a portal to other times, places and dimensions”. How the person perceived this portal is not revealed, but the witness did wonder if it was a piece of decoration for one of the many street festivals and carnivals which Brighton is famous for; this leads me to assume that the phenomenon is visible to the naked eye. Their concern for the safety of their dog caused the witness to leave the scene. However a few days later they made a new report claiming that the portal was still there and was emitting a “yellow light” and a large snake was emerging from it. No other witnesses to the event have come forward and Brighton and Hove City Council say they’re not pursuing the matter any further.

At first glance this might appear to be a novelty story published amidst the “real news” for the purposes of the reader’s amusement, in fact the usually more reliable Huff-Po treats it as such: But the tone of mockery I’m used to detecting in news stories like that is absent; also the author of the original article is The Argus’ crime reporter, Anna Roberts. The article has the disquieting timbre of severity. Could it be that the witness really did see a portal to another dimension? The interesting part of the report is the snake. Serpentine creatures are a commonly and repeatedly reported aspect of many altered states of perception, from LSD trips to occult rituals. Almost anybody who experiments with psychedelic substances or some of the more extreme kinds of magick spells will at some point encounter a serpentine being of some sort or another. Graham Hancock met the Spirit of Ayahuasca while under the influence of the drug and it appeared in the form of a huge blue snake that wrapped itself around Hancock’s body and stared into his eyes (Supernatural 2005). Snakes have an association with evil and deceit; from Satan in the Garden of Eden to nasty people being called “poisonous snakes”. But this is merely a Western cultural connotation, perhaps emerging out of early Christian propaganda. In other cultures snakes are sometimes seen as benevolent, wise and protecting. Of course I know that a snake is a physical creature of this world, a legless reptile, but very often when people encounter entities which are not physical they impose on them a familiar physical image, and snakes are one of the most common. I don’t know why.

The idea that this universe of three dimensions of space and one of time is not the only one that exists is perfectly mainstream nowadays; it’s been accepted by academic science. There’s even discussion about whether the Large Hadron Collider might be able reach them. Reading the book Flatland by Edwin Abbott is a good way to understand the concept: In fact cosmologists have started referring to our own universe, and also others, as “membranes” that occupy different locations in the Fourth Spatial Dimension. It could be that under certain circumstances our own membrane might brush against another and there is a bleed-over between it and the other; ghosts and UFO’s could be explained by this. It also might be possible to create passages between our membrane and others artificially. This could be done using supernatural magickal and occult ceremonies, and also heavy industrial processes involving known science and engineering, perhaps even a combination of both. Our mind’s eye could be capable of seeing into other membranes even if we can’t travel there physically. In that case, has our dog-walking witness in Brighton alerted us to a genuine hazard that should concern us? Potentially, yes. As Uncle Andrew, a character in CS Lewis’ The Magician’s Nephew, said: “You could meet anything! Absolutely anything!” and you could. The horror film The Mist explores the most nightmarish theoretical scenario when it comes to interdimensional invasion, see: However there’s nothing in this report to indicate anything monstrous is popping out from the membrane next door and there have been no further complaints from other residents. I’m more curious than worried by this article. The anonymous witness must have gone to because where else could they report such an event? There is no official dot-gov webpage for dealing with the arrival of spontaneous stargates. However the witness could have come to me; in fact, witness, if you’re reading this article then could you please contact me because I’d like to know more about your experience. I’ll treat anything you say with the strictest of confidence.

(Edit 7.50PM) Somebody who lives in Brighton told me that this might just be somebody trying to make a witty joke about the size of the potholes on Brighton's roads.

Queen to "Stop Immigration!"

The Queen has made her speech during her traditional state opening of Parliament, see:

One of the central new strategies of her Government this year will be something I've longed predicted, measures to "tackle immigration". It looks like this may be the moment the Big Brother agenda plays this card, see: None of the news articles covering the Queen's speech seem to be aware of the fundamental implications of these kinds of policies. It means if you have to go to a hospital Emergency Department the first thing you'll be asked for is ID; and if you don't have any on you, you might face a massive bill on your discharge. A national database for all people is being wrapped up in the pretty ribbons of Problem-Reaction-Solution. We must do everything we can to resist it and warn our friends and family to do the same.

Bailiffs out of the Blue

I came home from work one day a couple of weeks ago to find a letter in my pigeon hole from "Wescot Credit Services", see:  (Note their slogan: "focused on an ethical approach to debt collection"; sick-bag please!) I assumed this was related to the letter I sent to my bank a few months ago, see: http://hpanwo, but no! Wescot were writing to me on behalf of my old mobile phone provider because of an unpaid bill still due from when I stopped using a mobile phone last year. The outstanding balance is the monstrous grand total of £27.60... plus their  "additional charges" of £3.10, naturally. The letter from Wescot was in the form of a demand, giving the impression that I'd already been notified of the debt many times long ago and had had continuously failed to pay up. It contained phrases like: "Important- notice of debt collection", "Do not ignore this letter!" and "To avoid Wescot taking further action...". I was dumbfounded; I had no idea this debt even existed. I don't mean in the sense that a bank loan doesn't exist, see the above link, I meant that anybody even thought, rightly or wrongly, that I owe them any money. I asked a few friends for advice and they told me just to ignore it. I could do that, but I decided to take a different course that is more entertaining. Also I feel angry with them for way I've been treated; I feel violated almost, and want to make that point. So I wrote this in reply:

Dear Interloper,
(I start with warnings about taking legal action for harassment).
I am a former customer of Telefonica O2 UK Ltd, but have received no correspondence at all from them regarding any outstanding payments due from me. Therefore I do not understand your involvement in my business with them. I also reject your attempt to charge me administration fees. Please ask your client to contact me personally and directly so that I may settle any financial obligation I might lawfully owe.
Yours sincerely
cka Ben

It's sad that the normal way to do business nowadays seems to be through bullying and intimidation. A few years ago it would be unthinkable for any creditor to employ a debt collection agency unless they'd already tried asking their customer nicely and the customer had refused to pay, or had neglected to pay over a long period of time. My experience is definitely a general symptom of the times, that there is a drift in the moral Zeitgeist towards greater authoritarianism and thoughtless bureaucracy. A departure from all humanity and individual justice; and a brutal inflexibility and worshipful adherence to the rules in the small print. I was even tempted to sign the letter "Archibald Tuttle" in reference to the film Brazil, see: A couple of days ago I received a reply from Wescot that made little sense, but it was definitely still commanding me to pay them in very robotic, but nevertheless no uncertain, terms. This is the reply I've drafted. I'll be sending it tomorrow:

Dear Interloper,
I am a former customer of Telefonica O2 UK Ltd and before breaking contact with them in August of last year my record of accurate and timely bill payments with them was always good; I am a reasonable customer and perfectly willing to discuss any balance discrepancies with them in an amicable way. They have made no contact with me at all since I ceased using their services all those months ago; had they done so I would have been perfectly willing to deal with them again in a proper way. Therefore I do not understand your involvement in their business with me. I do not recognize your authority over this case. In my business with them I certainly do not intend to permit the unnecessary interference any third party interlopers whose first contact with me is to send me a letter full of CAPITALS, red print, emboldened text and other forms of intimidating correspondence. I decline to discuss this matter with you any further. Please instruct your client to contact me directly. This is the SECOND time of asking.
Yours sincerely
cka Ben

Chemtrails Hiatus

I took the photo today in Oxford. It shows clear, deep blue sky and natural clouds; a beautiful sight. I've forgotten what such a sky looks like with all the chemtrails, which are so common nowadays as to be the norm. However over Oxford I've not seen any for about a week. It's not just Oxford either; I never saw any on my trip to Hull either, see: I know other countries are still getting them, and even parts of Britain are still effected, but for some reason there's a large area that for the past week chemtrail operations have been suspended. Maybe they're doing some kind of control study; checking on the project's progress by seeing what differences can be observed when the 'trails are absent. Whatever the reason I'm sure it's regrettably temporary, so I intend to enjoy this lovely unspoilt skyscape while it lasts.
