Alien Base in Argentina

A group of UFO researchers have made an extraordinary discovery that could be definitive evidence of an extraterrestrial presence on earth. There is an island in some marshland in Argentina that is set in a circular pond that appears to float. Dubbed "the Eye", this island changes position within the pond. It rotates and moves from one side to the other, rolling around the perimeter, leaving a crescent-shaped channel of clear water behind it. It is about a hundred and thirty yards across and although a natural process can form floating structures like this in a wetland, the regularity of this object and the other observations of it behoves us to take a second look at this phenomenon. Argentina is renowned for its extensive UFO activity, even compared to the rich levels already common to the continent of South America. There is a thriving UFOlogical community there, including an Exopolitics Argentina organization that I've communicated with myself. Researchers Richard Petroni, Pablo Martinez and Sergio Neuspiller have launched a project to investigate this anomaly. They've already carried out an expedition to visit the Eye. The Eye has been in existence since at least 2003 and can be seen on Google Earth. Its grid reference is: 34 degrees 15'07.8 S- 58 degrees 49'47.4 W. This is in the far northeast of the country, a short distance from the vast metropolis of Buenos Aries. It lies in the swampy depths of the Rio ParanĂ¡ river delta and can only be reached on foot. Petroni, Martinez, Neuspiller and their team trudged and waded for over eight hours through the boggy terrain to find it.

When they arrived Neuspiller described the location: "The place was amazing and extremely strange. The water is incredibly clear and cold, something totally unusual in the area. The bottom is hard, in contrast to the swampy marshes surrounding it and the centre part floats. We don't know over what, but it floats." They took some photographs which are published in the source article and website below. Local people in the area are continuously reporting paranormal encounters and have a plethora of superstitious theories concerning their cause. Neuspiller, Martinez and Petroni are keen to find out if there is a factual story behind these experiences. They've launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund a scheme to investigate the Eye fully. Along with UFOlogists they will need scuba divers, geologists, biologists, and specialists to take samples of the plants, water and soil. They might need submarine drones to investigate some underwater areas where divers cannot go. They plan to film a documentary about their endeavour, see: The project organizers think this might be a hidden entrance to a secret underground alien base. That theory can't be ruled out at this point. It might also be a covert government installation, or perhaps even a mixture of the two. Source: They need to take care. If there is a secret base below the Eye then its owners will not want its clandestine nature revealed. Richard Sauder has a lot of experience of searching for secret underground bases and his books provide a valuable guide to missions such as these. He gives us some clues to look out for. Such as lakes that do not freeze over in winter (if the location is in a temperate climate), carparks in the middle of nowhere that seem to serve no purpose, carparks outside buildings that look too big for the facilities they serve, houses and other structures with haze above them indicating heat extraction ducts etc, see: I myself have carried out a search for evidence of the secret base AL/499 that is reputed to lie beneath the Berkshire village of Peasemore, see background links at the bottom. If the Eye is part of an extraterrestrial and/or covert government institution then this might have something to do with the extraordinary level of UFO and paranormal activity in the area; and even the larger region of Argentina and its environs. Even when I was a small child and it was going on at the time, I was suspicious of the professed motives for the Falklands War, that the UK government had sent a taskforce halfway around the world to liberate the islands from their Argentine occupiers because they "cared about the rights of the Falkland people". Since when have governments done anything inspired by the rights of ordinary people? There are some very obvious signs of underlying reasons why Britain sent the troops to the Falklands in 1982, and indeed why Argentina invaded what they call the Islas Malvinas in the first place. The researcher David Griffin has recently discovered that there may well be extraterrestrial intervention involved. Here is a frightening but fascinating video about the role UFO's and aliens might have been playing in the Falklands sovereignty dispute: If this is true then what lies beneath the Eye could be a part of that too. We shall see, but I'm keen to see how this story develops.

Real Contact?

I'm very fond of the Robert Zemekis film Contact. It is based on a novel by Carl Sagan and is all about an idealistic young astronomer, brilliantly played by Jodie Foster, who discovers a radio signal from an intelligent extraterrestrial civilization in the far reaches of outer space. The story is inspired by a real scientific project, SETI- the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence (Not to be confused with Dr Steven Greer's CSETI). I've written before about another recent case in which the possible signs are there that this mission could soon be accomplished. There is the discovery of anomalous readings from KIC8462852, also known as "Tabby's Star"; see: A few days ago astronomers announced the discovery of the closest exoplanet yet discovered; a small world orbiting Proxima Centauri B, the sun's closest stellar neighbour. This planet looks like it could be in the "Goldilocks zone", where the temperature is just right so that water can be liquid on the surface and therefore earth-like life could exist, see: Now scientists in Russia have published a report on another star that has an unusual radio signature. For over a year they have been monitoring the star HD164595... which will also soon be given a more euphonic name no doubt. This is a G2V type star, the same as the sun, about ninety-four light years away in the constellation of Hercules. It can be seen with a small telescope or binoculars and is close to the very bright star Vega in the constellation of Lyra, which interestingly plays a major role in the plot of Contact. In May of 2015 the scientists picked up an 11 GHz signal emanating from the bearing of the star. Despite continued observation this signal seems to have been a one-off, a bit like the "WOW!" signal, see background links above and below... Or at least that's what we're being told. We know from Prof. Brian Cox' TV series... one of many he is in... Stargazing Live, that the authorities are careful about information from the beyond, see link below. According to Dr Seth Shostak of SETI the signal is consistent with the kind of thing an alien civilization is likely to do in theory, but it could just be a mistake caused by accidentally picking up a transmission from a satellite or spacecraft. However we know that this star has at least one planet orbiting it; could it be home to intelligent aliens? Or could another nearby planet in the same stellar system? The Russian team plan to present their findings next month at the International Astronomical Congress in Mexico. I'm interested to see what they have to say. I'm curious to know more about this issue even though, as regular readers will know, I consider SETI somewhat redundant seeing as I'm certain that extraterrestrials have already found us and are here already in the form of UFO's. Mass Hiccups Outbreak

There has been another epidemic of a disorder that should not be infectious, therefore a mystery. I've covered similar events in the background links below. This time the condition concerned is what doctors call a "diaphragmatic tic", better known as hiccups. The outbreak of hiccups affected two dozen pupils at two schools in Massachusetts, USA. The victims were all female and aged in their teens. The North Shore Technical School and Essex Aggie both began echoing to the sound of hiccups in late 2012 and it went on until mid-2013. The girl's who experienced hiccups had attacks that were so severe that witnesses describe them as "high-pitched yelps". Health inspectors visited the school and tested the air, food and water. The results were negative. There's no explanation for why this condition has spread through the same location. The schools are coeducational so why does it only affect female students? Psychologists have put the issue down to mass hysteria, which is a rather vague affliction without any definitive cause or symptoms; and it has been used as a cop-out diagnosis before, see the background links below. They even suggested that social media played a role in transmitting the illness. How on earth is that possible? It's true that in a stressful environment people will develop psychological trauma, but this trauma doesn't spread like a contagious disease. It emerges in different ways in different people at different times. This mysterious hiccup plague is very similar to The Hollinwell Incident and the other events that resemble it.

St Helena Airport Update

The new airport on the remote island of St Helena was completed earlier in the year. I have been covering the development of the airport and the issues associated with it for some time, see the links below for essential background. Since then there have been a series of test takeoffs and landings to judge the aerial environment around the airport. This will provide vital information to pilots. Full commercial flight operations cannot begin until this study is complete. As I describe in the background links, there is a major problem at the airport with "wind shear". These are pockets of wind that change speed and direction very abruptly. For an aircraft approaching a runway or taking off from it, wind shear can be very dangerous. Because of this obstacle, the official opening of St Helena Airport has been put on hold indefinitely. The architects are now suggesting radical measures to solve the wind shear problem; they want to carry out further excavations at the Prosperous Bay Plain site. These will involve the removal of an entire hilltop, the King and Queen Rock, in an attempt to change the wind flow patterns around the airport. This might need diggers, drills and dynamite, depending on what the job will entail. The Daily Mail is now riling at the expanding cost of the project. It's been called the "worst foreign aid project in living memory"; however St Helena is not technically foreign, despite its geographical distance and isolation. It is a British Overseas Territory and therefore entitled to a share of national funds. What's more the airport is a good investment because it will hopefully give the island's economy such a boost that its need for state subsidies will be reduced or even eliminated. Another happy outcome of the airport delay is that the island's dedicated transport, the good ship RMS St Helena, will continue to operate. She was due for retirement this year after the airport opened and has even just completed what was supposed to be her final voyage. Now her retirement has been postponed until at least July of next year. Basically, the ship will necessary until the airport is fully up and running. Source: On the downside, the new dig will destroy more of St Helena's natural landscape; the airport has already transformed Prosperous Bay Plain forever. The area is one of significant natural diversity and the airport has adversely affected St Helena's wildlife. The Saints themselves are not unanimously in favour of the airport. I detail the pros and cons of St Helena Airport in the background links below. The English band Everafter have released a song called Last Boat to St Helena with lyrics that address the same concerns I have about the hazards posed by the airport, particularly to the island's people and culture, see:

Victor Nevada in the Media

My good friend and fellow researcher Andrew Burlington has been featured in the London newspaper News Shopper. The online edition includes a video Andrew shot in Charlton. Andrew has been capturing stills and footage of strange objects flying over east London for some time and he regularly shares his findings on social media. The news story is fairly good... compared to most others on the subject. Despite it using the demeaning phrases "UFO buff" and "hobby UFO researcher" it is long, detailed and reasonably factual. It includes statements from Andrew and mentions that both Nick Pope and Gary Heseltine endorse Andrew's discovery. Andrew's nephews were with him when he had his sighting and back him up too. The paper also takes Andrew's advice and contacted air traffic control at the nearby City of London Airport to see if they detected anything odd on radar, but they declined to comment. I wonder where that policy comes from. It might be worth getting them to say something via the Freedom of Information Act. Source: Regular followers of HPANWO will be familiar with Andrew because he is the man behind the "Victor Nevada" YouTube channel, the project to investigate the mysterious Alien Interview film, see: and:

An Open Letter to Tim Peake

See here for essential background to this subject:

Dear Maj. Peake
First I must congratulate you on your recent successful mission aboard the International Space Station. You've left no doubt that Britain is one of the big boys when it comes to space exploration. Since your return to earth you have, of course, made many statements and comments to the media, so I hesitate to ask you more questions about your mission. However I feel it is necessary because of the subject matter I'd like to discuss. So far your other media spots have not done so to my knowledge. When you were up in space, did you at any time see, or detect using other means, objects you could not identify, especially if their properties actively defied those of known objects such as meteors, planets, other spacecraft etc. If you did then I ask you to state it for the public record. You would not be alone in doing so. Many other astronauts have seen UFO's while on space missions dating right back to the beginning of the space programme. Jim McDivitt and Ed White saw a white cylindrical object during their Gemini 4 mission in 1965. Gennady Strekalov saw a UFO when aboard the Salyut space station and Buzz Aldrin reported seeing one on the historical Apollo 11 mission in 1969. In 2005 on your own space station, the ISS, your colleague Leroy Chiao reported seeing lights in a formation he described as "in a line" and "almost like an upside-down check mark". It's possible you have been briefed in on this matter already and ordered to keep silent on it. If this is the case, only you know what the best thing to do is. You can risk speaking anonymously to UFO researchers. If you do, make sure you select one who is professional, honest and will treat your information and source with the strictest of confidence; I cannot nominate recommendations here in case it jeopardizes your actions in the future. If you choose to go public you will gain the admiration of the entire UFO research community. The public acceptance of the UFO issue is, I think, one of the most important that the world and mankind face today. To be a part of that would be an achievement even greater than being our country's first astronaut.
Yours sincerely
Ben Emlyn-Jones

Brian Cox vs Climate Change "Denier"

Prof. Brian Cox has been up to his usual tricks. This time he's been wheeled out onto an Australian panel talk show to defend the notion of man-made climate change. The programme is entitled Q&A and is similar in format to the BBC's Question Time, albeit with a less formal arrangement; typically Australian. That smiling Simeon of the small screen was pitted against a politician, Senator Malcolm Roberts, an advocate for the idea that climate change is not caused by human activity, a viewpoint I share; see the background links below for more details. His Royal Coxness has clearly been coached in advance, indicating the producers anticipated or even planned this debate. He has with him a stack of scientific data printouts, including some graphs. The viewer cannot see the details of these in frame. The debate opens with Cox being given the complete floor for almost three minutes, with the host only asking him questions about what can we do about climate change etc. Cox says that the worst thing about climate change is that parts of the Middle East could become uninhabitable. That's odd because most climate scientists claim that rising sea levels are the biggest threat. Senator Roberts then gets less than a minute to respond before Cox interrupts him and produces one of the graphs. As I said, these can't be examined in detail by the viewer, but they clearly only show records since 1880. The host then quips: "Malcolm, you're hearing the interpretation of a highly qualified scientist and you're saying you just don't believe it; is that right?" The audience responds to the cue and laugh and applaud. They jeer at Roberts and laud Cox. That's strange because I always thought The Coxxer was a particle physicist, not a climatologist. What makes him more qualified than Roberts, who runs a climate sceptic think tank? As I've reported in my study of Cox, however much he knows about his own subject, he is pig ignorant about most others. He's made some extremely foolish comments on the paranormal, UFO's and conspiracy theories. Senator Roberts tries to explain the political forces, including those from NASA, that have corrupted the data that went into graphs like that and he is interrupted by Cox twice in the same sentence. "How?...  By who!?" (It's whom, not who. English grammar is another area where Cox' knowledge has very sparse coverage). Even the host then shuts Cox down and allows Roberts to have his say. Cox butts in after a mere forty seconds and scoffs: "NASA, the people who landed men on the moon!?" he then goes on to suggest Roberts doesn't believe in the moon landings. There's nothing wrong with that per se; I don't either, see:, but that's not the point. The point is that Cox is hitting Roberts with a personal slur; and Roberts, to his credit, picks him up on it. Cox doesn't address Roberts' concerns about institutional collaboration properly and misrepresents Roberts' position when it comes to its nature. After that the host brings in the other guests on the panel who do nothing except boast about the Paris Accord and other statements under the proviso that anthropogenic global warming is real. One of them says: "I can't believe we're having this discussion. We should be talking about what we're going to do about climate change!... It is real!...We have scientific consensus!" Roberts rightly picks them up on their fallacy of appeal to authority. Cox interrupts him after just twenty seconds. Then another panellist gives an anecdote about how her friends went swimming in winter. Cox then has another two minutes of the floor. Roberts, understanding the new rules of engagement, tries to interrupt twice, but not until Cox has been running downhill for over one minute twenty. When he gets his reply, Cox butts in after less than ten seconds. Eventually Roberts get the floor for another thirty seconds, but, sure enough, Mr Smiley-Face has to cut him off again: "No! That's flat out wrong!..." he says as he thumps the table, without actually explaining why Roberts is wrong. Then the host gives Cox a one minute twenty second monologue. After that he takes a comment from the audience and the discussion shifts back to the climate change establishment a priori position. The host eventually turns to Senator Roberts and asks him sarcastically: "If you (Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party) were in government, would you just sack all the climate scientists?" There's a serious point behind this jibe that the host doesn't realize. However much he polarized the issue, climate change is big business; one of the biggest in the world. It is an industry in itself; see background links below for details. Roberts tries to reply, but after thirty seconds the host clears his throat and the audience chuckle. "Final word to Prof. Brian Cox." he announces. Cox' "final word" is over two minutes of being the star of the show yet again. Then an entirely new subject is raised from the floor. Later in the programme, when climate change is briefly mentioned again, Cox actually throws the papers at Roberts in an aggressive way. Source:

There's no doubt that under the rules of proper logic, Senator Roberts won this debate. The problem is that this was not a logical TV show... how many are these days? The other panellists, led by Prof. Cox-Head, failed to respond to Roberts' points and just quoted consensus and establishment at him, mixed with rhetoric, ad hominem and appeals to emotion. As TV debates go, this is yet another one-sided unprofessional hatchet job, right down there in the gutter with Ken Livingstone's Nazi one, see: There is no doubt any more that Prof. Brian Cox is being set up as the golden boy of authoritarian scientific media deception. I just hope my antipodean fellow viewers saw through this debacle. I would be disappointed if they haven't because it was easier than usual for me. The mainstream press has been particularly frenzied over this, for example see:

Anjem Choudary arrest Blocked by MI5

The Islamic hate-preacher Anjem Choudary was found guilty of supporting terrorism at the end of July 2016. The press was restricted from reporting on it until only last week because it might potentially prejudice another trial (This in itself is interesting because nothing leaked at all. Skeptics always tell us big secrets can't be kept in the modern world. How much else has been restricted and we never find out?). Choudary will be sentenced next month and will probably be given ten years or so in prison. I've reported on Anjem Choudary before, see background links below. He read law at university and was already a trained solicitor before he was recruited by MI6. During the Bosnian war he worked for British intelligence, running behind the scenes operations against the Serbian forces occupying Muslim regions of Bosnia. After the war he underwent a sudden change of life... apparently. He left MI6 and became a radical Muslim extremist, growing his beard long and wearing traditional Islamic garb. He founded an organization that has gone by many names, but is usually known as Al Muhajiroun. He and his cohorts do very little except when TV and newspaper cameras are present; then they seem to appear like magic out of nowhere, in their skullcaps, beards and shirttails. They perform some inflammatory and antisocial act like picketing a soldier's funeral or burning Remembrance poppies in front of the media, and then they simply go home. They're never referred to in the press at any other time unless it's to report on the social security benefits they receive. Choudary was finally arrested and jailed, but will he ever go to prison? I doubt it. As I explain in detail below, it's very likely indeed that Choudary is a disinformation agent planted deliberately in the media to play the role of "evil Muslim cleric". As we see in this debate, Choudary the devout Muslim can't even speak proper Arabic and doesn't know his verses off by heart: We will be told he's gone to prison, but he will simply be reassigned. Either that or he'll shave off his beard, if it's even real, and retire to some luxury villa in Dubai, see: Since then RT has come across additional information that the police have wanted to prosecute Anjem Choudary for many years, believing they had evidence to charge him with up to fifteen counts under antiterrorist law, but were stopped from doing so by direct orders from MI5. They were told Choudary had to remain free because he was crucial to MI5 ongoing investigations... I bet he was! A police source said: "I am gobsmacked that we allowed him to carry on as long as he did. He was up to his neck in it, but the police can’t do full investigations on people if the security service say they are working on a really big job, because they have the priority. That is what they did constantly. While the police might have had lots of evidence, we were pulled back by the security service because Choudary was one of the people they were monitoring. It was very frustrating and did cause some tension, but we were told we had to consider the bigger picture." I hope people reading this will become more suspicious of government's pronouncements when whoever Choudary's replacement is, is paraded in the popular press as the comic book antagonist we all have to unite and fight, see:

CERN Occult Ritual

A very strange and frightening video has emerged from CERN, the particle physics laboratory housing the world's largest atom-smasher. I've covered CERN extensively in the background articles below, including the statue of the Hindu god Shiva in pride of place in the courtyard. The video is shot from a window at night overlooking the statue. The area is very quiet and nobody is in sight, as you'd expect late at night. A group of seven human figures emerge from the darkness beyond the frame and take up positions at the edge of the lit patio surrounding the statue. They are all dressed in long black robes with a hood, like an ecclesiastical cowl. They move expertly, as if well-rehearsed and experienced at what they're doing. The cameraman is male and speaks English with an English accent. He exclaims "What the fuck!?" when the figures appear. However his camera is rolling before the figures emerge, as if he is expecting them. He zooms in at the same time as one of the figures steps forward and removes the cowl of another in front, revealing that she is a young woman. She looks naked or wearing a thin white garment. The woman first drops to her knees and then lies down flat on the ground; then one of the other figures draws a dagger from their clothing. They hold it above their head and step forward. They appear to stab the supine woman in the belly. The cameraman gasps and yells with fear. The camera frame wheels as he loses control of his device. He returns to the window for one more brief glimpse that is out of focus, then he flees and the video ends. The whole incident lasts less than two minutes CERN management have admitted that this incident was carried out on their premises, but it was not done with their knowledge or permission. They say that this is a fake reproduction and not a real human sacrifice. They are currently investigating the event and Geneva police have been informed. A spokesman said: "CERN welcomes every year thousands of scientific users from all over the world and sometimes some of them let their humour go too far. This is what happened on this occasion." If they're so sure of that, why do they need to investigate? See: The individuals must have security clearance to have access to the site and therefore are staff or official visitors to CERN. Security at CERN is very tight and even involves optical scanners for the most restricted areas. The subject came up in this week's Mind Set Podcast, see: It's possible this is just an elaborate prank. Academics and students do have strange practices and set up fraternities with unusual rituals. The cameraman may well be involved, which could explain why he happened to be filming at the right time and in the ideal place to capture the event perfectly. However, based on what I discuss in the background links, something more serious and dangerous might be going on. Perhaps there is real occult activity in this most sinister and potentially destructive location. It's even possible that what we're seeing is a direct effect of interdimensional intrusion caused by the operations of the Large Hadron Collider itself. In other words, the figures are men-in-black type entities from beyond our universe. Time will tell. Hopefully there will be an update soon.

Ex-Footballer killed by Taser

The taser is supposedly a "non-lethal" weapon. It was adapted from a torture device banned by the Geneva Convention and is now used by police forces all over the world. It works by projecting a pair of darts connected to a high-power battery. The darts deliver a debilitating electric shock that causes temporary paralysis and unconsciousness. Since its introduction in the early 2000's, over a hundred people have died as a direct result of being attacked with this weapon. The latest was Dalian Atkinson, a forty-eight year old former footballer. He had been a fit man, having played for Aston Villa during the 1990's. Sadly he recently developed kidney problems and had been undergoing dialysis. This had made him very depressed and unstable. The police were called at 1.30 AM Monday morning to a disturbance at Atkinson's father's house in Telford, Shropshire. They shot Atkinson with a taser and his heart stopped. This is not an uncommon cause of death among taser victims. Also survivors of taser attacks often suffer permanent nerve damage causing pain, convulsions, paralysis and loss of bodily control. People who live through a lightning strike often are left with the same symptoms. Taser shots can also damage the brain, causing confusion and memory loss. Dalian Atkinson was pronounced dead an hour and a half after being tasered, see: I don't know what the coroner's report will be for this incident; but whatever the circumstances, the use of this weapon as a suitable method of law enforcement will not be questioned. You might say: "Well maybe Atkinson was really violent towards the police or another person!" So, what's wrong with the good old truncheon and restraining techniques? They worked before, why not now? I've heard of tasers being used on people who are not even violent. Somebody is a wheelchair was once tasered. Is this legitimate policing? Ironically the trial has just ended of the murder of Sadie Hartley, a woman who was stabbed dozens of times after her assailant, Sarah Williams, stunned her with a cattle prod, a very similar weapon to a taser, see: RIP Dalian Atkinson. Deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans at Aston Villa.

Warminster Solved?

An article has appeared in the Daily Express claiming to have solved the mystery of the Warminster "Thing". As I detail in the background links below, the small Wiltshire town of Warminster was subject to almost two decades of UFO and related phenomena in the longest recorded flap in history. According to a newly-declassified Ministry of Defence report, the experiences people related having in the local area could be explained by meteors hitting the earth's atmosphere and not burning up completely. They create "buoyant plasmas" that can stop a car engine and even mess with the minds of witnesses. There's no real explanation for what these buoyant plasmas are, but I think they're supposed to be an electromagnetic effect. I'm surprised because it takes a very strong magnetic field to interfere with the moving parts of a car engine enough to stop it. How close did these meteors get to the cars? Source: The good news is, as you'll notice, the article has embedded my own HPANWO TV film on Warminster, UFO Disclosure 2015- Warminster 50, see: Therefore readers will have a chance to see the other side of the story. I've been contacted by somebody from the British UFO Research Association- BUFORA who told me the Daily Express has beached copyright. The picture of the red UFO electrifying a car was made by the UFOlogy artist David Sankey for the Association and the paper should have asked permission before publishing it. Future Warminster conferences will take place eventually and no doubt this clanger by the Express will be the source of much scorn and merriment.

New Chairwoman to replace Goddard

Following the non-surprise and totally expected resignation of Justice Dame Lowell Goddard QC, see:, the government has appointed a new chairwoman for the "independent" inquiry into child sexual abuse. Fourth time lucky perhaps. The latest appointee is Prof. Alexis Jay, a social worker and not a lawyer. She led the inquiry into the Rotherham paedophile ring scandal, an inquiry that should never have been necessary and wouldn't have been if her own profession had not helped cover up the crime. It might be a statistical blip with all the women in positions of authority these days, but are the government specifically favouring a female chair for this inquiry? Perhaps to give the process a maternal ambiance and lull us into a false sense of security. See: I wonder how long this one will last.

Trystan Swale and my "Perceived Racism"

A couple of months ago, the skeptic Trystan Swale attempted an affront against my character. This demanded a serious response from me so I produced an entire HPANWO Radio show to create a single point of reference to give the other side of the story to anybody who comes across these false allegations by Trystan, see: Now Trystan has done it again, albeit in a very devious way that indicates an awareness of legal parameters. In a review on his website of my recent HPANWO Radio interview with David Farrant, see:, he says the following: "Earlier today I was made aware of the HPANWO Radio show that features conspiracy theory fruitcake Ben Emlyn-Jones interviewing David Farrant. I don’t normally give Emlyn-Jones time of day due to what I perceive to be his casual racism and anti-Semitism, but on this occasion I just had to listen..." I don't wish to provide a source and give Trystan additional publicity. I have no right to object to the "conspiracy theory fruitcake" statement; this is simply the expression of an opinion in purely rhetorical and personal terms. The same would apply to me if I were to call Trystan a two-faced spiteful conniving vindictive little turd... which I would never do, would I? The accusations of anti-Semitism and racism are a completely different matter and compel me to act. I am self-employed and my clients could get wind of this, as could my daughter's potential tutors when she applies to enrol in college again next term. Those mere words Trystan uttered are enough, in this day and age, to affect my wellbeing and that of my family. Trystan is clearly very cunning and has worded his statement extremely carefully. They key phrase is "what I perceive..." Trystan knows very well that I can't exactly go to a solicitor and complain about what Trystan perceives, can I? He'll reply: "But it's not an accusation, Ben. I'm not saying you're a racist and an anti-Semite; I'm merely voicing my own perceptions of the matter." I still have no idea why Trystan has turned against me the way he has. Did I do him wrong and then forget about it? I suspect that Trystan has simply become what is known as an "SJW- Social Justice Warrior". The SJW is a brand of fool who is very unique to the early 21st century. For example, it would be very difficult to explain to somebody just twenty years ago how what should have been a momentous occasion, the landing of a spacecraft on a comet, was trashed by a gaggle of whining malodorous little Twitter-pugilists because of the shirt the scientist involved was wearing, see: In the background links below I relate further tales of SJW infamy. Trystan says I believe in "casual racism". I think this means that I am a white heterosexual male who does not open every sentence with an apology for existing. I refuse to condemn myself and my fellow WHM people as "EEEEEEEEEEEvil!" In fact I consider that kind of thing cultural Marxism, a very dangerous form of mind control; see background links at the bottom. So, all I can do when Trystan behaves like a prick in this way is refer people, once again, to Programme 188 of the HPANWO Show where I demolish every slur he makes against me until his case resembles the remains of World Trade Centre 7.

Censorship of Vaxxed

Andrew Wakefield... or Dr Andrew Wakefield as I still call him, has lost his career for trying to alert the public to the dangers of vaccines, see here for background: He has since moved to the United States of America and produced a film called Vaxxed, an autobiographical documentary about his experience and his work, see: I have not yet seen this film, so can't say too much right now, but I'm familiar with some of the themes involved; see the background links above and below. The actor Robert DeNiro, who has an autistic eighteen-year-old son, took the brave decision to show the film at the Tribeca Film Festival which he organizes. The skeptics have predictably lambasted the film, Dr Wakefield, Robert DeNiro, the production team and everybody else associated with it. The most vocal of these critics is a rather frenzied young woman from Ireland whom I will not identify at the moment for legal reasons. She has been speaking on both the skeptic and mainstream media about the film in extremely harsh terms. She says she can do this because it is her right to free speech. I agree. No matter how vehement and disparaging her criticism of Vaxxed is, I would defend her right to express it. The problem is she is also actively trying to obstruct the film's distribution in her country and others. Can you see the contradiction? Yes, it is the typical skeptic free speech double-standard. She wants free speech for herself and her fellow skeptics... but not for those who oppose her. I address this double-standard in detail here: So this Irish pro-vaccine activist is shamelessly advocating censorship of the film Vaxxed. I wish the film's distributors good luck in stopping her.

My Trip to Highgate Cemetery

Highgate Cemetery is one of the world's great classic graveyards. Since it was established in north London in 1839 over 170,000 people have been interred there. It originally looked quite conventional, with well-mown grass baulks between the tombs, but after a while it went to seed and a forest grew over it. Today huge trees, bushes, wildflowers and ivy sprout between and through the gravestones giving the place a very gothic and eerie atmosphere. In fact many ghost and horror movies have been filmed there. The weather was hot and Ustane and I felt tired as we walked up Swains Lane and entered the gates of the East Side of the cemetery. I felt a bit guilty because Ustane has never been a hospital porter and therefore lacks the walking stamina I do; I should have thought of that and got a taxi from the Underground station. However hot weather is the perfect condition to visit the place because there is no shortage of shade beneath the leafy summer canopy that covers the necropolis. Entry to Highgate Cemetery is strictly controlled and security is tight. This is because of multiple acts of theft and vandalism that have plagued it over the years. Grave markers have been broken up or stolen, bodies exhumed, occult rituals have been performed and there have even been two bomb attacks. Tours of the West Side have to be booked five weeks in advance and nobody is permitted to wander unescorted there. We were not able to visit it on this trip. This is a shame because the West Side has the most spectacular architecture; such as Egyptian Avenue and the Circle of Lebanon, a massive and elaborate Victorian mausoleum. It was here that in the 1960's some corpses were pulled out of the vaults and wooden stakes driven through their ribcages; literally, because they were very old and bones were all that was left of them. This was blamed on an occult group with a vampire obsession; see the link to the radio show below for more details. I will certainly return to see the West and places on the tour can be booked here: The East Side however, according to our tour guide, has the most interesting people buried there. There were about a dozen visitors on our tour. The guide explained how we were allowed to wander off if we wished, but I'm glad we stuck with him because he gave us some fascinating information. Highgate Cemetery is almost full now. Every square inch of land I saw had a grave on it, even right outside the visitors' toilet block. The very pathways we walked on were rows of pauper's graves; sometimes twenty deep. The bodies were buried in cheap matchwood coffins which decompose quickly allowing the body inside to reduce to skeletons just as rapidly and sink in the soil so somebody else could be easily buried on top. The main grave sections are almost completely full now, but a new plot has just been acquired from a neighbouring park and some fresh graves and open spaces were visible there. The tour guide took us to some of the most famous graves and allowed us to take photographs:
Near the entrance are huge upright and solid mausoleums which wealthy and important people in the 1930's chose as their final resting place. They are flamboyant and imposing; I immediately christened them "ego-graves".
This is the grave of the American nature writer Opal Whitley. Her epitaph gives her name as Francoise Marie de Bourbon-Orleans because she claimed to be descended from French aristocracy. The grave is still tended by a mystery mourner who leaves flowers and engravings, but they come and go very furtively and nobody has ever identified them. This is not the only such enigma in Highgate Cemetery. Check out the Canary Wharf tombstone next door. That was put there in the 1950's; was somebody precognitive?
The postmodern artist Patrick Caulfield has a gravestone that suits his style very closely. The word cut into the top simply says: "DEAD". He must have been a very literal man.
This is Jeremy Beadle's final resting place. He may not be about anymore, but he will never be forgotten. He loved reading as well as practical jokes, so the sculptor produced a small library for his tomb.
There were many very bizarre avant-garde graves like these two.
This is the original grave of Karl Marx. His children and his long-suffering wife, Jenny of Westphalia, are also interred here. After he died his co-author Friedrich Engels revealed a family secret, that of Marx's son whom he had fathered during an affair with his maid Helene Demuth and whom Engels has brought up as his own to avoid a public scandal. The son, Frederick, was buried here when he died in 1929.
Karl Marx is Highgate Cemetery's most famous "resident", as they call them. The political philosopher was a German, but lived most of his adult life in London. Whether you support him or oppose him (I personally oppose him and consider him a tool of the New World Order), nobody can deny that he is one of the most influential people who ever lived. Therefore his small inconspicuous grave was regarded as too lowly. In 1955 the Communist Party of Great Britain arranged for his body to be moved to a new grave beneath the imposing pedestal and bust of the Karl Marx Memorial. It is a bulky marble edifice placed prominently on a corner of one of the main pathways. It is topped with an oversized bronze bust of that famous bushy-bearded head. There have been two attempts to destroy the Memorial with explosives, in 1965 and 1970, but "they just nudged it to the left!" quipped the guide. There was a crowd of around fifty people visiting the Memorial and some visitors come to Highgate Cemetery just to see it. The management of the Cemetery cater specially to those of Marxist beliefs and encourages "comrades" to come and pay their respects to the founder of their philosophy. As you can see, there are flowers and other tributes left there regularly. The tour guide told us that during the 1960's the Soviet and Chinese embassies in London sent hundreds of their staff at a time to pay homage at the Memorial and there was a campaign to move Marx' body to Red Square in Moscow. Luckily for Highgate's fame and fortune this was unsuccessful. The space around the Karl Marx Memorial is hot property for his supporters to be laid to rest. It is known as "Commie Corner". Famous left wing politicians and activists such as Ralph Miliband, Paul Foot and Claudia Jones have plots nearby.
This is the tomb of Corin Redgrave, a famous actor who starred in films such as Anthony and Cleopatra and Four Weddings and a Funeral. He was an ardent supporter of Karl Marx and wanted to be buried closer to the Memorial, but had to put up with being about two hundred yards away. This shows how full up Highgate Cemetery is.
Douglas Adams was the author who created the ingenious and hilarious Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy. He died of heart disease in 2001 at a young age while exercising at the gym... I'm sure he would have chuckled at the irony of that too. There is an urban legend that his epitaph reads: "So long and thanks for all the fish!" As you can see above, this is not true. His marker is surprisingly modest in fact. The pot of pens are tributes from fans of his writing.
Anna Mahler was a famous sculptress and the statue on her gravestone is one she made herself.
This is probably my favourite gravestone in Highgate Cemetery, and I didn't note whose it was.
There are many dark secrets at Highgate Cemetery. One of those is a tunnel dug under Swains Lane between the East and West sides so coffins could be manoeuvred from the chapel in the West to the East without blocking the traffic. The entrance to the tunnel was walled off and is now only just visible behind this workman's shed... I wonder what was inside it when they walled it off! One thing that the tour doesn't mention is the Highgate Vampire scandal. This started in 1969 when a man called David Farrant was passing one of the gates when he saw a ghostly apparition. He reported this and when the media got hold of it, they sensationalized it into a story about a vampire haunting the cemetery. They were helped by another local man who became famous as a self-styled vampire-slayer, complete with holy water and wooden stakes tucked into his belt etc. When the story was covered on television, hundreds of people turned up at the cemetery and tried to break in. On this HPANWO Radio show I interview David Farrant, see: Highgate Cemetery has a long tradition of being a place of massive supernatural activity. David himself was only there to try and find a ghost that many others had also related seeing. This paranormal interest connected with the cemetery goes on to this day. Oddly enough, I picked up a free information booklet at the entrance kiosk and am certain it was in my bag when I left. When I got home it was nowhere to be found. It might turn up, but if it doesn't... I can't see how it could have vanished by normal means. Both Ustane and myself very much enjoyed our visit to Highgate Cemetery. I will have to return one day soon and join a tour of the West Side. Below are some photographs I took that illustrate perfectly the spooky essence of Highgate Cemetery

Lowell Goddard Quits

The third head of the "independent" inquiry into child sexual abuse has resigned. Justice Dame Lowell Goddard QC was brought across from the other side of the world to chair the inquiry after two initial aborted launches. The New Zealander was considered the most qualified judge available, which says a lot for the UK's ability to police its own institutions. Was nobody closer to home suitable? Justice Goddard was appointed after the previous head, Fiona Woolf, the former Lord Mayor of London, stepped down over her friendship with Lord Brittan, one of the accused. Ms Woolf herself was only given the job in September 2014 after the initial head on the inquiry, Baroness Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, was dropped because she was considered "too close to the establishment" because she is the brother of the Attorney General, Michael Lord Havers. The Home Secretary Amber Rudd has announced that the inquiry must proceed "without delay!" For the survivors of institutional child abuse, that statement must sound like a sick joke. This government inquiry into its own misdemeanours was opened over two years ago and they still have not even found anybody to chair it who doesn't jump ship as soon as they're recruited. In the case of Lowell Goddard, she was appointed in February last year and has been swanning around since then, including taking a three month sabbatical, see: In the background links below you will see that Goddard's resignation is exactly what I predicted; as did Brian Clare on HPANWO Radio. What we're seeing here is a thinly disguised attempt to kick the can further down the road, yet again. The government is clearly desperate to prevent this inquiry from ever taking place. Either that or it will never take place until the trail is completely cold. They hope that by dithering for long enough the evidence of their complicity will fade to the point where it becomes useless. No doubt they'll also take the opportunity to actively conspire to suppress facts.
