I have recently done a joint presentation for the Changing
Times group in West Sussex with Neil Ward, see here for
background: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2026/03/ben-emlyn-jones-at-changing-times.html.
I was very surprised to find out that the event was publicized in the local
mainstream media. I presume that Andy Thomas, the organizer, put out a press
release; and two local rags picked it up. Source: https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/26116590.burgess-hill-lecture-explores-mysteries-time-space/
and: https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/your-world/unexplained-messages-through-time-and-space-popular-paranormal-investigators-speak-in-burgess-hill-8513382.
How generous of them! When I organized Dreaming Saucers and Roswell
70, I also informed the Oxford Mail;
and they didn't even have the common courtesy to tell me to get stuffed, let
alone actually give us a mention. These articles in The Argus and Sussex Express not
only exist, which is in itself extraordinary, they are actually quite good.
They are short and omit details and complex discussion, but they are reasonably
factual and lack the usual sarcastic flippancy of the redtops. Perhaps it was just a slow news day and we were lucky, or maybe we are genuinely making progress.
