Charlie Kirk Killed

There was a time when the worst a controversial and outspoken politician could expect was an egg in the face. Times have changed! Charlie Kirk wasn't even much of a radical. He was a fairly mild and moderate conservative compared to many. He had almost as many critics to his right as he had among leftists, the so called "groypers". He was doing a speech at Utah Valley University when a shot rang out. He collapsed with blood pouring down his chest from his neck. He was rushed to hospital, but the medical team could not save him. An elderly man was arrested at the scene, but later was eliminated from enquiries and released. At the time of writing, the killer is still at large. One of Charlie's best friends, President Trump, announced his passing: "The great, and even legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me; and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika and family. Charlie, we love you!" As time goes on more information will come to light and I will make another post, but right now I can only echo the president's sentiments. Charlie's wife and two children witnessed his shooting; they have my deepest condolences. He was thirty-one years old, just a year older than my daughter. What has happened to this world? Political violence has become normalized. We've had a TV presenter saying Boris Johnson should be doused in "battery acid!" and a London councillor urging people, regarding hotel protesters, to "slit their throats!". There were only a handful of policemen at Kirk's last rally, as if the government were hoping for this very outcome. Most people are hoping for a peaceful solution to the problems of humanity, but with each passing day that hope grows more and more forlorn. A lot of wokies are dancing on Charlie Kirk's grave in the most spiteful and vicious way. Honestly, if Diane Abbott's number came up I would not stoop to that level. I didn't over James Randi, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2020/11/ben-emlyn-jones-on-paranormal-peep-show.html and: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2020/12/ben-emlyn-jones-on-unite-planet-4.html. Shame on those heartless brutes! Rest in peace, Charlie.

"Guns save lives, prove me wrong" - Charlie Kirk. What is most horrible about this situation is the hypocrisy and double standards. Literally minutes later another school shooting and 2 students killed in Colorado, no media coverage. Compare this to two Democrat politicians killed 6 months ago. No heartfelt sympathy and outpouring of grief from the President. I disagree fundamentally with white nationalist CK's views but the irony of the killing on campus whilst he was armed shows how wrong he was about school shootings and gun laws in the US. I doubt anything will now change due to his devise rhetoric. CK couldn't run from karma due to the things he has said and the resulting consequences over the years.

This looks like a very carefully targeted assassination, not a random or opportunistic killing. I doubt the motivation is a grudge or an attempt to weaken conservatism. This is more likely to be part of a concerted campaign to fuel sectarian hatred and violence.

Yes, in fact there's video come out of a man on the roof, a bit like Butler. It may be connected to the Palestinian issue. Charlie was very pro-Israel.

Anon, I don't really see how taking guns away from peaceful people and giving criminals and the state a monopoly of force will help matters. It would not have prevented Charlie's death.

Ben it is US gun laws, the shooter wouldn't have access to a bolt action rifle and long range scope to kill CK otherwise. In virtually all school campus shootings they are not random or opportunistic as evidence subsequently has shown with death notes, kill lists, manifesto's etc being produced by the shooter as way of reasoning. Regardless many of the mass shootings of targeted individuals such as teachers the shooter may have a grudge against, the shooter has no prior criminal record. CK argued guns save lives, he was proven wrong in the most succinct and brutal way possible by being shot dead on a campus during a speech about campus shootings by 'transgender' individuals. Tighten gun control or the body count will climb exponentially not decrease by arming more people who at any given moment may decide to use that gun to kill. Stats prove this. The US gun lobby have blood on their hands. The MAGA movement want to cast blame on their political enemies rather than their own actions. I have little sympathy left for them as someone who has lost friends and relatives to gun violence.

Then how do you explain how mass shootings also happen in my own country, Britain. We have some of the strictest gun control laws in the world. Yet bank robbers do not use gardening tools.

Apparently there were quite a few people who thought he was not pro-Israel enough.

Ben mass shootings in the UK are a rarity as you well know so that is a very disingenuous statement in comparison to the US which has had over 300 mass shootings' so far this year and a similar number of deaths. The UK has had 2 with shotguns involving family members with a shotgun. Shotguns being one of the only licenced firearms allowed in the UK and incapable of the types of carnage typical in US shootings with semi automatic firearms. Armed bank robbers rarely if ever cause injuries or fatalities in the UK. Most use blades and imitation firearms to threaten not set out to kill. What might be missed in the case of CK is the gun law in Utah changed mere months ago to allow open carry which allows any firearm to be carried including the type of rifle used. The exception was college campuses which were exempt meaning a ban on firearms for obvious reasons until people like CK and gun lobbyists demanded this change to allow open carry on campus too "guns save lives" was the argument. It hasn't and sadly won't as we now see.

Then you haven't heard of Hunderford, Dunblaine, Plymouth?... Not to mention the robberies and domestic shootings etc. Please listen to the 3rd Rail shows I did with Trevor Murray.
