Happy Referendum Day 2024!

I can hardly believe it is eight years since the British people made one of the bravest and most noble decisions we ever have, to be independent of the continental imperialist dictatorship. We spent the first three and a half years of those eight fighting our own government who wanted to "persuade us of the error of our ways!" Also we had to fight stuck-up, insulting, patronizing cunts (sorry, there's no other word for them) like Richard Dawkins. It feels that ever since Brexit day, the 31st of January 2020, things have very much been on hold. As I predicted, the remoaners would not give up. The "rejoin alliance" has indeed risen from the ashes of the petition signers. Under the governments of "post-Bill Gates" Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and especially Rishi Sunak we have been living in a "Brexit-in-name-only" situation. For example Sunak has obeyed several decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, which should be a bit like the New Zealand government obeying a ruling from the High Court of Fiji; so why isn't it? We now have a general election in eleven days which will almost certainly lead to a very bad situation for the next few years; which I will cover in a separate publication closer to the time. However, within the EU itself, it feels like the opposite is happening; something that should have begun on June the 24th 2026 has finally got going, eight years late. Anti-EU populists have finally started making political headway on the continent; in fact Brussels are tearing their hair now because their very project is in dire jeopardy, as the provinces revolt. This is very hopeful. In fact being in the UK is a bit like being left out of a really good party! Maybe this is because of our first-past-the-post electoral system. We on our island have a leftwing Blairite managerial regime while our neighbours are throwing those regimes out. Still, we'll see what happens before the next Referendum Day. I have a feeling something will "come out of left field" between now and then.

Farage's comments about Russia being provoked have been enough to persuade me to vote for Reform since they put clear water between Reform and the other parties.

Britain will be left very isolated if Labour form a government, Trump wins in November and anti-globalists make gains in the EU. All those things seem likely. I can't imagine how Starmer and Trump will interact but I think they are likely to clash.

The worst case scenario for the UK is being the only country left supporting Ukraine, getting involved directly and then cut to pieces by Russia. No-one else will then care about NATO obligations given that Trump wants an end to NATO anyway. We seem to be moving inexorably in that direction.

I remember that you said the remoaners would keep wanting to have referendums until they got the result that they wanted. The last general election in 2019 was a referendum in disguise, as it was only about the single issue of Brexit. The voting and turn out, etc. showed us what the majority of the nation thought. Happy Brexit day!

Hi GM. Good for you! It's not easy being on the only kid on the block left out, but it's better than all of Europe going crazy.
