Sekret Machines

I have read the book Sekret Machines, Book 1- Chasing Shadows by Tom DeLonge and AJ Hartley. This is something I've been meaning to do for a while because it is obviously right up my street. I try not to include spoilers in my book reviews, but for Sekret Machines they are pretty redundant anyway, at least for anybody who has had any contact with the UFOlogy community. The book is allegorical fiction, but as it says on the blurb "fiction?". Its foreword is by Jim Semivan, Tom's colleague in TTSA. It features ensemble characters; including a military helicopter pilot who has a UFO close encounter, a young journalist who finds the eighty year old diary of a slave from the Wenceslas mine and an heiress whose murdered father holds dark government secrets. We also hear the contents of the slave's diary. Each chapter is told with a different character as a third person narrator, a device I rather like and use in my own novel Rockall, see: https://hpanwo-bb.blogspot.com/2009/02/rockall-chapter-1.html. The slave is first person because it is his diary. There is an interlude about a man in Japan who sees a disk-shaped craft; and it is made obvious that this is Hartley's own experience. The stories of the different characters follow their own paths but eventually converge in a series of scenes where the revelation is made that UFO crash-retrievals are real and alien technology has been back engineered to build free energy and antigravity aircraft. One character, the pilot, eventually gets to fly a real ET flying saucer. The novel is well-written and fast paced, similar to a Dan Brown thriller. It is educational for people wanting to learn about the real extraterrestrial cover-up. In this way it is very similar in theme to my own book Roswell Rising- a Novel of Disclosure and its two sequels, see background link below; although it has a lot of differences in plot, setting and style. I really enjoyed it, as I knew I would because it is sort of written for people just like me. There are even a few scenes in The Little A'le'Inn, a place I longed to visit for years and then eventually got the chance, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2023/11/meadows.html. I've already ordered the sequel.
