Strange Central

I don't think I've ever been to Conway Hall and had a bad time. This London venue, tucked into a corner of an urban garden, seems to attract really interesting events; see the links at the bottom for other examples. This latest offering was no exception. Strange Days was a one-day conference organized by the London Fortean Society, of whose previous meetings I've often attended, for example see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2020/01/a-skeptics-guide-to-aliens.html. I was accompanied by my good friends, comrades and space brothers Colin Woolford and Miles Johnston, although Miles was fashionably late as usual, like a bride before a wedding. The conference was held in the main hall and most of the seats were full. A friendly lady called Chandra came up and introduced herself. She is a HPANWO-reader whom I had never met before and it was really good to do. We had some great discussions. The list of speakers was very interesting and opened with Dr David Clarke. He told the story of his investigation into the Calvine UFO photo. I have covered the details myself here: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/06/would-real-kevin-russell-please-stand-up.html and: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2023/04/ufo-disclosure-2023-senate-debrief-and.html and: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2022/08/programme-474-podcast-another-typical.html
Later on I got the chance to talk to Dr Clarke face-to-face and raised the points I do in my own coverage. Surely if the object really did levitate silently into the air then that is one of the five observables; the implication being that maybe this is something of extraterrestrial manufacture. Dr Clarke replied that we don't know if it really manoeuvred like that because we heard it second hand from Craig Lindsay. Did the two cooks actually say that? Also the engine noise of the Harriers would have drowned out any noise the object made, so maybe it was not really silent. It might have been an endopter drone with internal rotors that are invisible from the angle it was photographed from. This is speculation on his part, in fact he is bordering on the clown's day off fallacy; but then it is also speculation by me. Until we get more information there's no way to tell. Clearly Dr Clarke is biased by his general disbelief in aliens; and I am biased by my opposite belief. The next speaker, Dominic Chorney, talked about treasures of the occult. He is an antiquarian who has a collection of old coins and some of them are strange in design with no obvious issuing bank. Could they be tokens used by occultists? He displayed one very interesting specimen from Japan that depicts some strange and scary creature that looks like a werewolf or ogre. It is in fact probably a snow macaque, a species of monkey from Hokkaido, one of the Japanese islands. The rim of the coin has the island's name on it. What stuck me is that snow macaques were the species studied by Lyall Watson when he came up with his "hundredth monkey" theory, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2011/08/lyall-watson.html
There was another coin from fifteenth century Germany with a Bigfoot like creature on it, a "woodwose". It is possible coins like this were used as a talisman by the superstitious rather than for financial exchange. In one case, its owner had driven a hole through it, probably so they could hang it round their neck on a string. It makes me wonder where they got the idea for the creature depicted, long before mass media. Darren Naish is a pop scientist who researches the fossil record and ancient extinct animals. He gave an interesting talk about aquatic reptiles and archaeocetes, ancient creatures from the whale family. Unlike most of his peers, Darren has an open mind about cryptozoology. He often associates with the CFZ. There is a rumour that he is one of the witnesses of the Cornish Owlman, although if this is true he has never admitted it. In the definitive book on the subject, Jonathan Downes' The Owlman and Others, this witness is anonymous and nicknamed "Gavin". Jamie Lewis and Andrew Bartlett are social scientists who did a dialogue about what they call "bigfooters", people who believe in Bigfoot and try to find it in the wild. They say they have no public opinions about whether Bigfoot exists or not, but in the course of their address they came across as very skeptical. They made a lot of the points disbelievers do: Where are the bones? Where is the DNA? etc. There are comprehensive rebuttals to these points that I have previously detailed, see below. They mention the Minnesota Iceman and repeat the standard explanation that is it a hoax. Not so in my view. See here for my position on these points and many other similar ones: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2022/11/cryptozoology-portal.html
Lewis and Bartlett's central study is about the people who are enthusiastic about Bigfoot and their psychology. I don't have a problem with such scholarship, but it does tend to come in a package with the foundational tacit subtext that what their subjects believe in is a cultural phenomenon based on a falsehood, see here for another example: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2018/09/prof-karen-douglas-at-greenwich-sitp.html. Next up was Mark Pilkington, somebody I'm very familiar with and I got to speak to him briefly. I've researched his work closely and look forward to his new book. He has adapted the thesis he applied in Mirage Men to the modern post-2017 world. How is today's Trumpian political class using "UFOria" for its own nefarious psychological warfare strategy? Good question, but I don't see any reason, from what Mark presented, to discount my suspicion that maybe we're being subjected to some kind of elaborate double-bluff. Has Mark considered this possibility?, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2023/05/mark-pilkington-at-bases-2023.html. Finally there was a three-person panel on ghost hunting with Alice Vernon, Ben Machell and Sarah Sparkes. Alice and Ben are authors whose books look really interesting. There was a merch stall at the back of the room, as I expected, but I really shouldn't buy any more books until I've read the hundred or so I've bought so far and not yet picked up. The three talk about their own favourite investigators from the golden age of psychical research, the late 19th century to the 1950's. Sarah loves Harry Price, a classic character who has come to my attention too, mostly through my research into Helen Duncan. Alice's favourite is Molly Goldney. I was familiar with that name because she was Price's assistant in the famous 1930 backstreet experiments with Helen. I learned a lot from Alice's information because she has read Molly's private letters. It turns out Molly had a very low opinion of Price and was far closer to one of his main rivals than Harry would have liked. Alice said that Price forced Molly to do the internal body search on Helen against her will and Helen's. From what I gather, from talking to Maggie Hahn and other sources, Helen wanted and demanded this precaution. She even did it at her private performances. Helen was desperate to prove herself to be a real manifestation medium and was far more transparent than most of her peers, see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2020/02/helen-duncan-portal.html
Ben's chosen expert was Tony Cornell, a very cautious and rational figure who was often featured in the media. Unfortunately I was hampered by my usual drowsiness. This seems inescapable when I'm sitting in a warm and comfortable auditorium, especially if I had to get up early to be there; which I did. I had to catch the coach to get to London on time. I tried to doze quietly and unobtrusively, keeping one ear alert so I could hear the speakers' words in my stupor. There were about two hundred people there and I looked for others that I knew. I recognized a few by sight rather than name; but somebody I identified easily was Deborah Hyde, also known as "Jourdemayne" the "skeptic witch". She has come up before on HPANWO several times, for example see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2013/11/consciousness-beyond-individual.html. During the lunch break and afterwards we went to the Penderel's Oak pub on nearby High Holborn. I'm pleased to say it is now a Wetherspoons. It was a trip down Memory Lane for me because London Skeptics in the Pub used to meet in the basement bar there, for examples see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2021/08/skeptics-portal.html. I wondered if Deborah would join us for the same nostalgic reasons, but she did not. Source: https://forteanlondon.blogspot.com/2026/02/strange-central-2026-mysteries-monsters.html. Colin, Miles, Chandra and another woman we met called Beersheba, had a great time sharing a few drinks and dinner. Another friend, Rhiannon, was watching at home on the live coverage, and the two of us shared our running thoughts during the proceedings. I finally headed home at about 8 PM. As I've often said, the social side of the conference scene is really the best part. In a way, the speakers are just an excuse for us to get together. Times spent at conferences are very precious to me and I look forward to the next one. I truly enjoyed the day. Many thanks to all the speakers, organizers and delegates for Strange Days. Hope there will be another one soon.

Digital ID MP Reply

I have had a reply to a letter I sent to my Member of Parliament about my concerns over Digital ID:

Dear Ben,
Thank you for taking the time to share your views on digital ID. I take the points you raise very seriously. I am sorry for the delay in responding to you.
It is important that any system of digital ID takes people's legitimate concerns on board. For example, it must ensure that the highest data security standards are followed, because I agree with you about the importance of respecting privacy. The Government has given a commitment that privacy will be put first at every step. This will be achieved through encryption and authentication, and by decentralising data storage.
I am pleased the Government has confirmed use of the proposed new digital ID will not be compulsory. People will be able to use alternative forms of ID such as a biometric passport to prove they have the right to work in the UK if they have reservations about the new system. I think this is the right approach. I believe it is also possible to pursue digital ID in a manner which empowers citizens, as shown by the vibrant democracies where people embraced it, such as in Estonia and Finland. I note those countries have placed their citizens' consent at the centre of the system, and that is what I want to see happen here in the UK.
Technology has changed the way we interact with each other and with public services. The new digital ID is intended to give people the option of a modern way to prove who they are, and to help them access services online more easily. In this sense, a digital ID will be no different to having a passport or driving licence. Additionally, it concerns me that too many people are currently unable to prove their identity and face exclusion from services, such as the 1 in 10 British citizens who do not have a photo ID. Digital ID could help to address such exclusion.
A public consultation on the proposed digital ID scheme is now open and will close on 5 May 2026. I appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with me and strongly encourage you to submit your views. It is important to me that the new digital ID is inclusive, secure, and empowering, and I will continue to carefully consider all constituents' views as the programme develops.
Kind regards,
Anneliese Dodds MP

I am dismayed by this response, but hardly surprised. Mzzzzzzzzz Dodds is after all a former member of the EU parliament and was also Shadow women and equalities minister, or should I say "Women!" and "Equalities!" minister? She is virtually the textbook perfection of what a modern centre left Starmerista politician should be. No wonder she was put in one of the safest Labour seats in England. Despite her rigmarole of stately diplomacy and olive branch reaching out, it is pretty clear she has a positive opinion of the proposed digital ID system and explains her reasons. I comprehensively discredit each and every one of them in the background links below. Anneliese shares my approval that digital ID shall not be compulsory without addressing the point that once the infrastructure is in place the rules can then be easily changed. We must stop the entire scheme altogether to be safe. I do feel positive about this, because of the MP's debate, see link below. Starmer's power is clearly waning and this is just the latest in a series of climb-downs he's been forced into. They will lose the original bill in the Commons. This doesn't mean they'll give up. We must not let our guard down! Do continue to resist in whatever way you can.

Nick Pope Dies

I'm sorry to report that Nick Pope has died; and I am genuinely sorry. As regulars know, Nick and I didn't see eye-to-eye on much, to put it mildly; but I am still dismayed at the news of his passing. Nick joined the Ministry of Defence in 1985 and did several jobs, but he is best known for running "Secretariat (Air Staff) 2a", known as the UFO desk. This led to a prolific media career where he became known as "Britain's (or "the real") Fox Mulder", "the man from the Ministry" and many other nicknames. He took part in too many TV programmes and movies to mention, and he wrote a number of books. He was as absolute staple on the conference circuit. He's even had a song written about him by Mark Christopher Lee's band, The Pocket Gods, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab-v2xZHQdw. Despite this, he was always very cautious and used catchphrases like "I can neither confirm nor deny that" and "we can't rule it out" over and over again. His death was not unexpected, in fact he posted a few weeks ago that he was very ill and effectively in palliative care. He passed away peacefully at his home yesterday with his wife Elizabeth by his side. He was sixty years old. I used to get on well with Nick. We even had dinner together once in London with Tabitha, his partner at the time. We fell out because I resented what I believe was false information and disinformation he was spreading, especially about the Rendlesham Forest incident. I met up with him again briefly last year at Contact in the Desert and exchanged greetings. As I said at the time, we had both been invited to an exclusive private party at the conference venue and I felt obliged to behave well. Despite my antipathy towards Nick Pope, I will miss him. He has been part of the UFOlogical furniture for so long now; a figurehead of the movement, however flawed. Aliens will never be the same without him. His family have my deepest condolences. The Sun, one of the many journals he wrote for as a UFO correspondent, has published a touching obituary. S4- The Bob Lazar Story

I felt some urgency to watch this new documentary about Bob Lazar, S4- The Bob Lazar Story. I had already seen the interview by Patrick from Vetted with the director Luigi Vendittelli and I had to go away on Good Friday when the movie dropped. I returned on Easter Sunday knowing that social media would be infested with spoilers and I could only avoid them for so long; so I paid the rental late at night and watched it through after presenting The Gas Spanner. This is not the first film about Bob by any means. Another had come out a few years earlier directed by Jeremy Corbell that I reviewed at the time, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2018/12/bob-lazar-area-51-and-flying-saucers.html and: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2018/12/bob-lazar-movie-livestream.html. That one was mostly about Bob's personal life in the present day. Would this new one be any different? Although it does cover Bob's family and work briefly, it is mostly about his original story. It begins with his early life, developing a keen interest in science and engineering from childhood. He was a remarkably skilled designer and builder. In 1982 he converted his wife's Honda Civic hatchback into a jet-propelled car. He claims to have started working at the famous Los Alamos National Laboratory the same year, although this has been called into question and there is considerable evidence both for and against this part of his background. His recruitment to the flying saucer reverse-engineering project has often been cited as one of Bob's most incredulous assertions, but it is actually not that outlandish. The project is not unlike an espionage ring in its relationship to public government and industry, and we all have heard how spies are persuaded to join a cause through privately schmoozing them. It often does start with a simple conversation, like the one Bob had with Edward Teller; and sometimes the talent scout does simply think the contact "sounds like he has the right stuff." We've seen the same pattern with another case that has recently emerged, the Reddit scientist who studied alien bodies: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2025/02/catastrophic-d-on-reddit.html and: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2025/02/reddit-scientist-livestream.html. George Knapp also says the very fact that Bob has a personality that made him easy to discredit, if that needed to be done potentially, was an important qualification.

As somebody who has been fascinated with the chronicles of Bob Lazar for well over thirty years now, there was little in terms of narrative that I have not heard of before; yet this is the first time I have seen the annals being presented this way. It was announced at the beginning that the animation was all made "by hand", meaning without artificial intelligence; a necessary disclaimer in today's world. The figures, models and backgrounds were all designed by real animators; and it was done very well. Watching them made what I have already learned more vivid. Individuals Bob got to know in his adventures and has described before, like the doctor lady, "Dennis" and "Barry" are brought strikingly to life. Some are modelled by real actors. The effect of the whole reconstruction is very dramatic. Of course that is not new evidence, but it does make the original claim feel more real. There are some talking head scenes as well, interspersed with the reconstructions. These are full of somewhat obtrusive jump cuts which comes across as a bit amateurish. Despite it being a familiar story, there are some exclusives in this documentary. We discover that the Google Earth images of Papoose Lake have been doctored for some reason and older images show details that could support Bob's testimony. Other researchers have previously found other instances, for example: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2021/11/s4-entrance.html. Why is it necessary to keep renewing these satellite images if there's nothing there? We also hear for the first time how the Wednesday night test flight disk came very close to Bob and his friends when they went there as spectators; as if the pilot inside had detected and recognized Bob. That could explain how he was caught soon afterwards. Do I believe Bob Lazar? Every time I watch a good film promoting him, like this one, I say yes; but then something else comes up that calls my enthusiasm into question. Stanton T Friedman, one of the people in UFOlogy whose judgement I trust the most, always denounced Bob as a fantasist. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying I don't know. S4- The Bob Lazar Story can be bought or rented on all good streaming outlets. Source: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt37605896/. It is much cheaper than some other recent releases. It's good we finally have a truly general release category arty cinematic documentary about Bob Lazar. All that is left to do now is the big screen Hollywood dramatization. I've always thought Cillian Murphy or Johnny Depp could play a good Bob.

Squatcher Doxing

I came across a video by a cryptozoologist who is complaining that he has received abuse online. He says he has been doxed, in other words his personal details has been published on social media. This situation has been caused by the premier of a new documentary called Capturing Bigfoot, see: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31457111/. He saw it and expressed a very decisive opinion about it. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlvNMTv5x-Q. I have not seen this move yet myself. The film launched at the South-by-Southwest Film Festival last month. I don't know much about this film except that, based on current trends, I know it takes a very skeptical bent. I will reserve judgement until I've seen it; and I will provide a full review of my own after that. In the meantime I totally and unconditionally oppose any abuse, harassment and incitement to mob misconduct towards anybody involved with it; be it in production, distribution or media reception. We cannot win this war of ideas by behaving like the Orwellian censors or cancel culture zealots. Reality will not be decided by denouncement. Please, leave these people alone! The truth will out.

Heartbeat- Gone Tomorrow

Heartbeat is a TV programme that was an early herald in the growing 21st century genre of nostalgia shows. It is set in a remote part of North Yorkshire during the 1960's and skilfully captures the attitudes and culture of the times. The plots are centred on the local police force, although there are numerous subplots involving local civilians that considerably developed as the programme grew in popularity; to the point where it went beyond the usual police procedural milieu. I was never an avid fan of it, I have to admit, but I did enjoy it. (I am far fonder of its spin-off, The Royal, for reasons that will be obvious to all readers of the HPWA and all listeners of The Gas Spanner.) Heartbeat was first broadcast in the 1990's and it really blew up during the 2000's. At the time I was in a difficult personal situation. I was living in a house as a single parent with my ex-partner and daughter's mother; and my daughter who was a teenager at the time. They both loved the series and watched it whenever it was on. My ex still watches it over and over again to this day; it is broadcast regularly on the "gold" channels. Seeing as I was in a family communal situation I passively absorbed it, as I felt obliged to. What's interesting about Heartbeat is that there is a single episode that includes an alien abduction. The episode is titled "Gone Tomorrow" and in it there is a massive thunderstorm over Aidensfield, the fictional village in which the series is set. Everybody's electricity is cut off. Some villagers see lights in the sky that are not lightening. One of the characters, PC Alf Ventress, is driving along a country road when his car engine stops; then he sees a strange craft hovering above him. He is at first reluctant to speak out and tells his beat partner, PC Nick Rowan, that he was dazzled by the lightning. Later he sees a doctor and it seems he has a "sunburn" on his face, like the Roy Neary character in Close Encounter of the Third Kind. Several times in the soundtrack they play the "five tones" from that film. Oddly enough the landlord in the village pub thinks the incident might be weather modification experiments at RAF Fylingdales. This is rather anachronistic seeing as the base was not used for anything "tinfoil hatty" until the late 1980's. The station commander, Sergeant Blaketon, is very skeptical and afraid of the negative publicity the UFO stories might generate, but Ventress' colleague, PC Rowan, remains supportive towards his fellow constable. Ventress eventually confides in Rowan and Rowan's wife, who is the community doctor. Later on Blaketon reveals that he has to "keep a lid on this!" and in under instructions from "headquarters" whatever that means. He adds: "It's my head on the block!" He then orders Ventress home on sick leave. It's more likely Blaketon is concerned about the reputation and scandal involved than any suggestion that he is being briefed in on any kind of cover-up, á la Roswell. He warns his constable not to talk to anybody and later tries to discredit him by referring him to a psychologist. Rowan, who is by far the most open-minded character in Aidensfield, then secretly takes Ventress for a hypnotic regression. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8m8QMyGIoU.

This episode was written by somebody called Freda Kelsall along with another author called Nicholas Rhea who penned the books on which the Heartbeat TV programme is based. The plot is obviously inspired by the annals of PC Alan Godfrey, a policeman from east Lancashire who reported just such an experience as the fictional Alf Ventress in 1980, see: https://www.alangodfreyufo.com. I have a signed copy of his book. Heartbeat episodes have the ambiance of a soap opera and different main plots are often combined with equal significance in a single show, but "Gone Tomorrow", season 5 episode 8, is worth watching for anybody interested in UFO's. Just scroll forward though the irrelevant scenes if you prefer. I don't understand the choice of title. The final scene of the episode is very good. It shows PC Ventress courageously standing by his story and his fellow officer PC Rowan backing him up. He presents the police psychologist with the tape recording of his hypnotic regression session. The pshrink asks the usual patronizing questions; like whether Ventress had taken any "substance likely to cause hallucinations", implying he is on LSD. As a fifty-something rural Yorkshire copper that would be out of character, even in the '60's. Rowan bravely challenges the doctor and defends his fellow officer. The doctor then threatens both officers with "career deficiency!". You could say this TV show is just fiction, which it literally it; but Alan reports in his book how he himself was subjected to harassment, including a threat to frame him for narcotics offences. I have heard so many other real life equivalents of this kind of abuse from the authorities; yet the skeppers keep insisting: "If UFO's were real, more witnesses would speak out!" Skeptics, cast aside your own fiction and get real!

Travis Accused Again

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2021/08/new-travis-walton-hoax-claim.html.
I wonder why it is that claims are always called "revelations" and "confessions" when they do not promote aliens. Travis Walton has once more been accused of hoaxing his UFO abduction experience from a pinewood glade in 1975. This should not be a surprise; accusations against Travis have been going on continuously in one form or another ever since the incident happened. There are probably over a dozen different dirty deeds he has supposedly done. Some of them are contradictory; but in true Orwellian style, the debunkers believe them all. This latest iteration broke the other day and has hit the backslapper-osphere like a spring tide tsunami. Mike Rogers has apparently flip-flopped yet again since withdrawing his 2021 attack, see background link above. This time it is a supposed deathbed confession. It was reported by Steve Pierce, another member of the lumberjack team, who says he was one of last people to talk to Mike before he died. Steve's story is backed up by Mike's daughter Michelle Detras. Mike's words apparently include the sentence, "Travis, your day of reckoning is coming." However, despite two people close to Mike claiming the same thing, Mike has made no official public statement. This is completely different from Walter Haut, for instance, who signed an affidavit over his information to do with the Roswell incident. If Mike Rogers has done something similar, it is being kept confidential. If so, then why? There are more flaws in this testimony. According to Michelle, Mike has confessed to perpetrating further hoaxes; and this is where it gets ridiculous. According to his daughter, Mike also faked the Phoenix Lights and a number of crop circles in England. There is no explanation for how or why Mike Rogers became such a prolific and accomplished UFO conman. All we hear from Michelle is that he constructed the fake Phoenix UFO on a friend's ranch. What, something that big? How does it work? How much did it cost? How did he get away with it? Michelle and Steve have my sympathy for their loss, but what they say makes no sense at all.

Patrick from the Vetted YouTube channel has covered this in detail, and that fits with his new perspective. As HPANWO TV viewers know, I met Patrick at Contact in the Desert last year and we got on well, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2025/06/ben-in-desert-2.html. I sub to his channel generally enjoy his output, but in the last few months Patrick has become much more cynical and negative in his outlook. I suspect he has been influenced by the community of backslappers surrounding "Tupacabra" and "Red Panda Koala" on Twitter. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijj0OPqMhhE. We seem to be entering a season of skepticism. At the same time as Travis has once more been put in the dock of the social media courthouse, a new film about Bigfoot has premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival. All I know about it is that it's called Capturing Bigfoot and that it takes a highly skeptical position. I'll be sure to watch it when it's on general release. I do not find this latest cycle of anti-Travis Walton assertions at all credible. They supposedly come from somebody who was Travis' brother-in-law, and who had a very rocky relationship with Travis; and has already confessed to publishing a false calumny against Travis just a few years ago. To crown it all we only hear his supposed last words second hand as part of a nonsensical diatribe. It's now been more than fifty years since the incident. There was an event last November to mark the occasion. It seems virtually inevitable that a person who reports a UFO close encounter ends up with their character tarnished. It's as if society has some kind of strange built-in immune system against them. We know that the government find such people very inconvenient and encourages such assaults. Let us recognize this reaction for what it is when it happens; and this latest vilification of Travis has all the classic symptoms.

N-Machine Conclusion

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2025/07/richplanet-power.html.
Richard D Hall has completed his experiment with the N-Machine he built; thus repeating the study by Bruce De Palma and Adam Trombly. As before, this is a technically heavy episode and I recommend watching it carefully; don't just have it playing in the background. Once again I had to rewind certain segments and watch them more than once. Again Richard tries to make the content as comprehensive as possible to the layman; and he has separated the most specialized aspects for part two. He has made a few modifications to his prototype, replacing the copper disk with a steel one, to give it a higher magnetic field. He also added a faster motor, although this involved enclosing the system in a safety cage in case it exploded. He also had to repair a defect, part of the housing scraping against the shaft. Richard then drew up a graph and, incredibly, it confirms the original study. The output power is indeed greater than the input power. How much greater is an adjustable factor, but even if it were not that wouldn't matter. Just a tiny fraction of overunity is revolutionary no matter how small it is. On a practical level one could, if necessary, set up a power train of any number of units necessary to obtain usable wattage, but as it happens the machine can be made more efficient with a larger disk and/or better brushes with lower resistance. The majority of the internal mechanical resistance of the system comes from the brushes. There are such things as liquid metal contact brushes that would make the machine run far more smoothly. This also has its dangers though because the metal most often used it mercury which is toxic. Unfortunately they're not commercially available. Richard describes how the design was both rejected by scientific journals and suppressed by the government; contradictory positions you might think. Source: https://www.richplanet.net/richp_genre.php?ref=316&part=1. Richard has done this work while under enormous pressure because of his legal situation and deserves to be congratulated, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/07/rdh-lawsuit-mini-portal.html. He hopes to investigate more free energy technology in the future, but he really has already succeeded.

HDA Article 2

I recently wrote a film review for The Wow! Signal, the official journal of the Hollywood Disclosure Alliance, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2026/02/my-hda-guest-article.html. I have now had another review published. It's for an upcoming documentary called Ancient Architects of Orion by Jonathan Womack. I'm very grateful to Jonathan for allowing me to watch a private preview of his new movie. This assignment was something of a challenge. As you can see, I was not impressed at all with the documentary's thesis; but I'm not somebody who enjoys "pwnage", especially when the subject is so obviously a genuine and honest creator. Therefore I thought deeply about how I could present this film in a positive light. Source: https://www.thewowsignal.news/latest-news/ancient-architects-of-orion-documentary-by-jonathan-womack. Many thanks also to The Wow! Signal editor Dan Harary. See here for a HPANWO Radio interview with Dan: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2024/08/hpanwo-show-558-podcast-dan-harary.html.

Louis Theroux- Inside the Manosphere

A few years ago the journalist Louis Theroux made a documentary series called Weird Weekends (not to be confused with the conference q.v.) He made it in his own unique gonzo style and injected a lot of humour. He delved into the lives of some awfully strange people, even by my standards; and a few of them were rather sinister. Yet somehow what resulted was dry comedy. I really enjoyed it and have been rewatching many episodes. He has gone downhill in the last few years so my hopes for his new documentary were not high, but I'm pleased to say that with Louis Theroux- Inside the Manosphere he seems to have returned to his traditional style. Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms23FeJWvKU. The word "manosphere" has several different meanings, but it generally refers to an outlook on the world from a masculine standpoint and a concern for the welfare and betterment of men and boys. However, there are many different forms that this takes and I was curious to see what Louis made of them. He spends the programme travelling to various places around the world, usually glamourous holiday destinations, and meets up with a number of popular social media influencers, all male and mostly young. They promote self-confidence, healthy living, business success and date coaching. One is known online as "HSTikkyTokky", real name Harrison, who has become a multi-millionaire at the age of twenty-three and lives in a mansion in Marbella with a handful of his mates and a number of young women whose uniform seems to be bikinis. Another is an American called Justin Waller who presents a radio programme about what he sees as male issues. Another is Myron Gaines whose own video streaming show deliberately delves into extreme drama for the sake of attention and therefore money. He invites women into the studio in order to insult them. These ladies, it seems, are willing participants because, despite their humiliation, they achieve fame for being on his show, along with new followers for their OnlyFans sites. At one point Myron is very cruel to an obese girl, abusing her for her weight. I found this upsetting and think it's a pity that content like this is the most lucrative in today's clickbait economy. However, I was already aware of that to some extent, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2018/02/confronting-droike.html. Louis calls this a "hamster wheel" that incentivizes increasingly extreme content. Indeed HS and his friends often go to the extent of livestreaming themselves "happy-slapping" people in the street. Afterwards they confessed to Louis that the whole activity was just about "clip farming". Another pundit called Sneako is quite interested in conspiracy theories, like I am; and some of the others are too. However their beliefs tend to level out at the more immature, finger-pointing and simplistic level that I myself have warned against. I can't go into details on Blogger, but here is a full explanation: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2017/06/jews.html.

One thing all these young men have in common is that they have had difficult childhoods in problem families. HS' father abandoned him as a baby and he was brought up by a single mother who worked extra hard to pay for private education for him. In one video HS meets up with his dad, a man he hardly knows; and it was quite sad to see how he is obviously suffering as a result of this betrayal by the man who should have cared for him, although he tries to hide it with his usual bravado. Justin also had a single mother and had no positive paternal figure when he was growing up. What's more his mother was a criminal who was convicted of arson. All the men involved in the manosphere oppose feminism and use terms like "the Matrix" to describe the most common relationships between men and women. However, at no point in this film does Louis Theroux explore the calmer and more intellectual part of this critique. He does not feature some anti-feminists I consider far more sensible and credible like Paul Elam, Dr Tara Palmatier or Carl Benjamin (also known as "Sargon of Akkad", see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2022/04/is-sargon-walking-into-trap.html). Louis' exploration of the manosphere was not really an exploration. It was the shallowest of dives into its strawmen, its tabloid sideshow. Despite enjoying Louis' return to his Weird Weekend style I felt that Louis Theroux- Inside the Manosphere was, at best, a lost opportunity, at worst a distortion.

Jury Trial Restriction

I often ask myself, who is it I dislike the most in Starmer's gang? Obviously I despise them all; in fact nearly everybody does. They're the most unpopular leaders since King John; but are there any that stand out in their levels of deceit and corruption? I would answer possibly David Lammy, Sir Keir's deputy and Justice Secretary; and it's hard not to put his job title in quotes, especially now. A couple of months ago he entered a bill removing the right to a trial by jury in crown courts. There was a heated debate in the House of Commons about this, with several MP's describing their own experience of being victims of crime; but this backfired because Lammy announced that the purpose of the bill, supposedly, was to reduce the backlog of cases, which number in the tens of thousands; and that without swifter justice more criminals would be out on bail and able to commit further offences. The bill also makes it clear this will only apply to minor charges, ones with a maximum prison sentence of three years... for now! It doesn't say as much, but no doubt this bill will be sold as a "temporary measure", rather like the reforms Adolf Hitler made when he took power in Germany. The bill was passed by a terrifying hunded-and-one votes with an unusually large number of abstentions. Infuriatingly most of its supporters were Scottish Labour members whose constituents won't be affected because Scotland has its own independent legal system. Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpw0eg9q7kwo. A few years ago I'd have hoped for the House of Lords to scupper the scheme, but Labour are currently reforming the upper chamber to remove the hereditary peers. This has been justified by appeals to "democracy!", as if Labour cared about that. After all, the hereditary peers are aristocrats appointed by the King and unelected. However, the whole House is unelected anyway; all that will change is that elderly patriotic men raised with an ethos of noblesse oblige, who are needed to keep these selfish career politicians in line, will be replaced by sycophantic party donors and obedient ex-cabinet ministers.

One solution might be for England to have a devolved government. Right now England is one of the few internationally recognized countries without an independent state. In the last few decades Scotland and Northern Ireland have regained theirs while Wales got one for the first time, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2024/01/visiting-senedd.html. England has been left out of this movement. I am Welsh, but live in England so this affects me directly. We residents of England and Wales have now lost one of our fundamental and essentially human rights, and one of the hallmarks of a civilized nation, the right to be judged by our peers if accused of a crime. Do not think for one moment this is just about "something for now just clearing up the backlog!" It's also not going to stop with three-year charges. It will be adapted and expanded. David Lammy seems to be some kind of demolition man, leaving political rubble in his wake wherever he goes. His last cabinet post was Foreign Secretary and he is most infamous therein for throwing away the Chagos Islands, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/10/chagossian-repatriation.html. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as prime minister once Keir Stalin is finally thrown out for being too toxic. As Mark Twain once said: "Politicians are like nappies; they have to be changed regularly, and for the same reason." As I've said before, our only hope now is something coming out of left field. I've found that in history it always does.

Rob Grant Dies

I'm sorry to report that the author and comedy screenwriter Rob Grant has passed away. Rob Grant has numerous credits to his name, but is best known for his collaboration with Doug Naylor, known as "Grant Naylor"; a gestalt entity similar to the Crafty Nihilist (qv). This culminated in the cult science fiction comedy TV series Red Dwarf, a personal favourite of mine. Red Dwarf achieved heights of wit and profundity that is rarely seen in a TV comedy, especially one with such limited scope. Its most acclaimed episodes were set aboard a spacecraft lost in uncharted deep space, far from any planets, with just a handful of characters. Rob and Doug went their separate ways after season six, leaving Naylor to continue the franchise alone; and frankly, it shows. Seasons seven and eight left me in no doubt that Grant was the source of quality control on Red Dwarf as well as its famous philosophical explorations. To be fair to Naylor, the series regained some of its former glory from nine onwards, but it never matched the genius of the first six. One recurring element in the programme was MBA (see background links for details); and I understood this long before I even formally defined exactly what MBA is. In "The Last Day", the final episode of season three, Kryten receives notice that he is about to be permanently shut down, to die in other words. He is not bothered by this because he believes in an afterlife for robots called "silicon heaven". However, when Lister reads Kryten's user manual he finds out that this is a hoax invented by his manufacturer. Intelligent machines do not protest against the drudgery of their existence and subservience to humans because they are waiting for their posthumous reward in the electronic afterlife. Interestingly in the first Red Dwarf novel, but not on TV, it is revealed that the smaller menial robots called "scutters" are not programmed with this superstition and so are far more sulky and disobedient. This idea is clearly parallel to "the opium of the people" declaration by Karl Marx; and George Orwell's character Moses the crow in Animal Farm who believes in a "sugar candy mountain", see: https://hpanwo-bb.blogspot.com/2023/12/piw-in-fiction.html. Lister asks Kryten if silicon heaven is the same place as human heaven and the android responds: "Humans don't go to heaven. Somebody just made that up to prevent you from all going nuts!", not seeing the obvious implications regarding his own faith. I knew at that point that whoever wrote that scene was both an atheist and an MBA-er. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm6YnAqPv4w.

There are many other examples in the subsequent seasons. In "The Inquisitor", (season five, episode two) the eponymous antagonist justifies his brutal rampage through time because he concludes that there is no god or afterlife and therefore anybody who wastes their current earthly existence has no right to it. In "Justice" (season four, episode three) Lister gives his shipmates a long and boring lecture at the end which labours the same point. This ends with him mercifully falling down a hole in the floor, thus possibly discrediting his diatribe. I've often wondered what would happen if atheo-materialists die and it turns out they were wrong and there actually is an afterlife. For MBA-ers this question is even more pertinent because their disbelief in life-after-death is more than a mere intellectual stance, it is the source of all their social prestige and self-esteem. To die and find out they were wrong would be a terrible humiliation. There are several theories from psychical researchers. Some say departed souls just instantly accept their error with goodwill, inspired by the wisdom that inevitably charges our intellect beyond the physical. Others fear that these cynical spirits become earthbound ghosts, unaware that they have died, like Chris at the beginning of What Dreams May Come, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2023/06/what-dreams-may-come-watchread-party.html. Presumably Rob Grant is in one of those states, or perhaps another one. Alternatively, he may have been right all along and therefore he is now nowhere; something that I personally doubt. Whatever the truth is, when Rob Grant walked the earth he brought entertainment and wisdom to millions of people, including me and my daughter. When she was a small child we bonded as father and daughter very deeply by becoming Red Dwarf fans at the same time. This is just one way Rob has left an indelible legacy on this septic orb. His family have my deepest condolences. Rest in peace, Rob.

MH370 Search Off... Again!

Ocean Infinity have made the following statement:
"On 23 January 2026, Ocean Infinity departed the search area in the Indian Ocean in its latest effort to find MH370. Since first embarking on this mission in 2018, the company has spent 151 days at sea and mapped more than 140,000 square kilometres of seafloor.
Oliver Plunkett, Ocean Infinity's CEO, said: 'It was important for us to take advantage of every piece of information and data available and go back, but despite all that effort, we haven't been able to find it. The scale of the challenge both geographically and technologically is almost impossible to comprehend. We're proud to have brought our expertise and the most advanced technology we've ever deployed. The combination of scientific rigour, automation techniques, robotics, and greater organisational experience meant this search was carried out with a level of precision and speed unimaginable in 2018. I hope those around the world for whom this mattered know that, even though we don't have the outcome we wanted, a large number of people did the very best they could. Since 2018, we've spent more than 150 days at sea and covered over 140,000 square kilometres of seafloor. We're deeply grateful for the support of the families, the Malaysian Government, the Australian Government, and the many companies and individuals who dedicated time and effort because they cared and wanted to help. If nothing else, we can say with confidence that it isn't where we looked. That matters, it brings clarity, and it will help those continuing to study the evidence refine their thinking and shape future search strategies. Although this phase of the search has concluded, our commitment has not. We're continuing to work with the Malaysian Government in the hope of being able to return when circumstances allow.'" Source: https://oceaninfinity.com/news/conclusion-of-the-search-for-malaysian-airlines-flight-mh370/.
I don't like to image how the families of the 239 are feeling right now. OI did not even complete their fifty-five day contracted search time period. I wonder why when the weather has improved and it is still over two months until winter. This aborted plan has happened before, last year in fact. I respect Oliver Plunkett and sense he is sincere and dedicated, but he has had to drag along a bunch of bureaucrats in the Malaysian government like a ball and chain. Geoffrey and Richard are disappointed that they never even touched the "WSPR area", see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRFU8razeYY. Jeff Wise has yet to comment. Ashton Forbes might have slipped his own viewpoint into one of his long lifestreams that I've yet to watch. Florence de Changy doesn't say much on social media. I have mixed feelings about this news. Deep down I'd like to see the MH370 wreck found; it would close a chapter on all our lives, not to mention that of the families. However, I've always felt that the southern Indian Ocean is a wrong turn and the true solution to this mystery can be found elsewhere. Maybe this development will give people the impetus they need to look down those other paths less explored.

The Inverkhazi Mutiny

The British nation was shocked a few days ago when it was revealed that the Royal Navy has only two ships capable of deployment; and only one of them is able to put to sea now... which is next week. The Ministry of Defence previously claimed that the Navy had sixty-two ships, ten submarines and two hundred aircraft. This has been reduced to ten ships, four subs (These are all Trident ballistic missile platforms dedicated fulltime on maintaining our nuclear deterrent. They therefore cannot be spared for fleet duties) and they don't mention the aircraft, and that probably means there are too few to be significant. There's no doubt that Britannia no longer rules the waves. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP_dEkbJnCs. The United States military is by far the most powerful on earth. Even in this new multi-polar world military might is something the USA still excels at... supposedly. The US Navy has eleven aircraft carriers; and, as in a figure often quoted, each one has the power of an average national air force. There is a problem though. Brian Gerrish of UK Column, who is a former RN officer who commanded a ship, revealed that a few years ago only two of the eleven carriers were seaworthy. The others were either constantly in dry-dock with mechanical breakdowns or they lacked the qualified crew to man them. Has that improved since? Since the horrific outbreak of hostilities with Iran, see: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2026/03/third-rail-radio-programme-236.html, the newest of these supercarriers, USS Gerald R Ford, has sailed for the eastern Mediterranean to assist with "Operation Epic Fury"; but all is not well on board. The toilets have been malfunctioning. The problem is so bad that it might even result in the ship being forced to make an emergency docking. You might wonder why mere blocked "heads" should be an issue severe enough to prevent a modern high-tech aircraft carrier operating, but hygiene aboard a ship at sea is essential. Waste water must be processed properly. On land, sewage can always be diverted away somewhere harmless, but on a ship at sea it can linger inside the hull contaminating fresh water supplies, food and living quarters causing disease. According to the latest video by Sweeps Fox the plumbing problems on the aircraft carrier might not just be bad engineering; they could be acts of deliberate sabotage by the personnel. The maintenance crews have attempted to fix the issues and have found in the foul channels large solid objects like clothing or lengths of rope. Source: https://rumble.com/v76pkvg-psychotics-acting-as-god-king-emperors-let-slip-the-dogs-of-war.html.

This could be a very subtle protest or attempt at subversion. The reasons why these sailors might be doing this are known only to themselves, but it could be there are simply scared; and who can blame them? Many military analysts are concerned by Iran's new hypersonic anti-ship missiles and how the aircraft carriers might not have adequate defences against them. Also, the sailors may have political motives. Why is the United States in this conflict? Twenty years after the "War on Terror" that achieved nothing except mindless destruction and a humiliating defeat for the US, the nation is once again aiming for another foreign war of intervention. Many people have worked out that this endeavour is purely in Israel's interest, not America's. As much as I sympathize with the innocent people of Israel, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2023/10/israel-war-livestream.html, I don't believe it is the duty of foreign servicemen to fight their wars for them. Apparently we in Britain have to be afraid because Iranian missiles might be able to reach us. Source: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/iran-missiles-uk-conflict-us-war-britain-starmer-b2930496.html. Where have we heard that before?... How much longer will this delusion last? Will we always believe these pathetic suited bureaucrats who reassure us that this time everything will be AOK. Don't worry! Bear with us for just a little bit longer. We are just one more military intervention away from paradise!

Ian Huntley Dies

The child killer Ian Huntley has died after being attacked by a fellow prison inmate. He received catastrophic head injuries last Thursday week and was rushed to hospital, but did not regain consciousness. This is not the first time he has been assaulted, and this attention is to be expected considering the nature of his crime. This is despite the fact that the suspect is Anthony Russell, somebody who is equally vicious. He murdered his girlfriend and her son, plus another man. The prison, HMP Frankland, is where many of the country's most serious criminals are incarcerated; hence its nickname "monster mansion". Another is the maniac cop Wayne Couzens, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/03/sarah-everard-killer-revelation.html. Thomas Mair, the alleged killer of Jo Cox MP is also supposedly there, but this is doubtful, see: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2016/12/programme-214-podcast-trial-of-thomas.html. Ian Huntley was convicted of murdering Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, two ten year old girls who were pupils at the school where he worked as a caretaker. Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c80jmm00379o.

A few years after this unspeakable incident I was interviewed on the Richplanet Starship with Richard D Hall in which I raised the possibility that Ian Huntley was a patsy who had been framed. My reason for this was because I had heard that there was another suspect whom the police had overlooked. He was a serviceman in the US Air Force and was stationed at the nearby American garrison at RAF Lakenheath. The girls' bodies were found just outside the base. A few years after Holly and Jessica's death he was convicted of killing a young girl on Okinawa, a Japanese island where he was stationed afterwards. Why was he not a suspect in the Soham case? Richard and I suspected that this was because of political inconvenience. At the time the Prime Minister Tony Blair was desperately trying to get Britain involved in the Iraq invasion and if it were revealed to the public that a US serviceman had killed two young British girls on British soil that might turn public opinion against the UK American military alliance in the War on Terror. For this reason Huntley was set up. He had the right profile; a low IQ man with a previous conviction for comparatively minor offences against children. Source: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2010/10/my-interview-on-richplanet-starship.html. Interestingly Huntley's girlfriend Maxine Carr was an assistant teacher at the same school and was convicted of aiding and abetting him. She was released from jail under a false identity. This is possibly what also happened to Jo Cox and many others, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZimqkgMJ40 and: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HiZ4m1_P4o. Another suspicious element was that the original leader of the investigation, Acting Detective Superintendent David Beck, was replaced with another officer after ten days, Detective Chief Superintendent Chris Stevenson. Was this because the new chief was assigned to cement the cover story while Beck was not? The problem is that I don't remember where I first heard the information about the USAF serviceman and I've just tried to verify it and can't. There is no record of such a person ever existing. According to history, US troops have committed such crimes on Okinawa, but none since the occupation in 1945. Do any readers have any information on this matter? If you don't then I'll have to do something I really dislike, admit I was wrong! If this is the case then there is no further reason I can think of to doubt Ian Huntley's guilt; and so therefore I will join nearly all other people in refusing to mourn his death.
See here for more information: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/07/rdh-lawsuit-mini-portal.html.
