Nice Town

 

My love of obscure TV miniseries that I remember as part of the haunted generation has led to me seek out Nice Town. It took me a long time to find it all. At first I discovered episode two and three on Dailymotion, but episode one was missing from that platform. This bothered me because it is the best one and it is essential for understanding the two others. Eventually, with the help of a HPANWO reader, I found the entire series on a Russian website. Nice Town was first broadcast in 1992 on the BBC. It was directed by Pedr James and written by Guy Hibbert. It is a story about family who move into a new purpose-built suburban estate of designer McMansions. The central characters are two thirty-something couples; Joe and Frankie, and Paul and Linda. Paul and Joe are brothers and Joe and Linda are ex-partners. This dynamic quickly develops into a terrible crisis. Paul is sterile and wants a baby with Linda. Joe and Linda then conspire for her to get pregnant via donated sperm from Joe; and keep this secret from Paul, making him think that he has recovered from his sterility and is the real father. Alongside all this there is a subplot involving a local teenage boy and girl with very conservative parents who want to have a sexual relationship, so Joe provides a love nest for them in his own home. What's more, ironically, Paul discovers that his and Joe's own parents have a deep dark secret related to hereditary matters. Predictably, all these secrets cannot be kept and when the truth comes out the family is torn apart.

There are other somewhat sardonic elements; for example, there are placement shots including the sky and they have a cartoon sun and moon with faces on them. The series is essentially a parody of British suburban middle-class society. We are a nation obsessed with social class and satires about it are very common, but this one is highly unusual. Joe is a very extreme caricature. I first came across Nice Town again when I was researching this year's St Theo's watch party which was for Paper Mask, starring Paul McGann, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2026/07/paper-mask-watch-party-livestream.html. McGann also plays Joe, and that character has many similarities to Matthew Harris. They share a common weakness, selfishness and deceit. I find Joe one of the most repulsive individuals I've ever encountered in fiction. He is a feeble, effeminate manipulator, a ruthless and egocentric blackguard. In terms of his marriage, he has an almost complete traditional role-reversal with Frankie. She goes out and works as a medical research scientist. Joe stays at home and looks after their daughter Katie as well as doing the housework. He wears a pink frilly apron while doing this. He has a totally blinkered and unrealistic vision of the world around him. When he presents his idea to Linda he calls it "a simple gift of life" as if he is a member of some New Age free love commune. When he is questioned by the police over his love nest for the teenagers he is totally indignant and entitled. He doesn't understand that what he did was criminal. He is physically puny and when Paul confronts him violently Paul can do so with impunity. Despite Joe's ineffectual and bland personality, his underhand actions leave a trail of chaos and destruction. I must admit, my antipathy towards Joe is really just personal because he reminds me very much of "Centaur", the man who abused me when I was a child, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2012/09/centaur.html. This is an important lesson. You may think "girlie men" are harmless, but they are not; they are highly toxic and dangerous. They actually are capable of physical violence, but only against a victim who is even smaller and weaker; that obviously means a child. Along with the cartoon heavenly bodies, Nice Town has other special effect scenes. There is a very grotesque dream sequence in which we see Joe as a satyr. The birth scene of the baby has a distinct horror element to it; and so does its aftermath in the maternity ward. Some viewers might be disturbed by that. However, the most upsetting scenes, for me, are several which are "POV" from the newborn baby, Angelica. This baby is, of course, the innocent victim caught up in the middle of a conflict she was born into and cannot comprehend. Yet in these scenes her parents both lean close to her and shout angrily in her face. That is really nasty. Towards the end of the series, Joe's malevolence gets worse and worse. Even when I saw this programme originally on TV as a much younger person, I understood what it meant and how it fitted in with my own life. Nice Town does have some good elements though. Joe and Paul's mother is played by Doreen Mantle who is a very widespread actress. You might enjoy it, so I recommend giving it a try.

Why the Heatwave?

 

Western Europe has experienced its hottest driest summer ever. The heatwave has lasted for over two months. It has been continuous, with just brief drops in temperature only as low as average hot summer ones. This heatwave, oddly, has not been punctuated with the usual thunderstorms. The cause of this has been called a "heat dome", an atmospheric effect in which hot air gets trapped in a particular place, changes in global wind patterns and the warming of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. These factors cause a heatwave that literally never ends until what's known as the "super El Niño breaking point" in which the heat gives way immediately, sometime in mid to late September, to the usual winter storms and floods. The short term forecast is for cooler temperatures and some rain, in Britain at least, for the next week or so; but the heat dome might well return to its previous dimensions and last another month. Europe is generally by far the worst area affected by climate change and so these conditions are predicted to return next year, the year after and the year after that... forever. There's no escape! And, the overall boogieman, the supercharging force behind it all, is, of course, human-caused global warming. The political classes have been making more hay over this situation than the poor British farmers. The usual prophecies of doom and appeals for fundamental changes to industry, the economy and society to save us from this catastrophe have been massively boosted. Andy Burnham's new administration have renewed their drive for Net Zero and more "environmentally friendly" energy generation, together with the inevitable increase in internationalism and authoritarianism.
 
I have to wonder if the current extreme weather is being intensified and perpetuated, if not even generated, by geoengineering technology. There are full details in the background links below, but it is not a secret that weather can be controlled to a certain degree; when it comes to creating rain clouds. However, the original publicly revealed research into weather control was far more ambitious. As you can see, this is science fiction, but it is speculative rather than fantasy. We see the ability to change the pattern of high and low pressure areas; in this case, to protect the US eastern seaboard from a hurricane. What happened to this research after the 1950's? Was it simply abandoned? I don't think so. What's more, surely it must have occurred to somebody at some point that the same technology could also be used to direct a hurricane towards a seaboard, that of an enemy country. What we have here is the most terrible weapon of war, and the capability to deploy it with plausible deniability. It can be dismissed as a freak of nature. What goes for hurricanes can also apply to heatwaves; after all, both are simply caused by atmospheric pressure zones. There are many facilities of earth that are designed to fill the skies with electromagnetic radiation, such as HAARP. I recommend the research of Elana Freeland on this. One of the last things the late Gareth Davies did was give me a copy of her book Under an Ionized Sky in which she argues that the earth's atmosphere has been filled with conductive metallic nanoparticles through chemtrail operations and that it operates in conjunction with ground-based phased-array transmitters like HAARP, see here for an interview with Elana: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1DaAAMSMMU. There is a growing scepticism in the European population towards the notion of manmade climate change and the way globalist statesmen seem to be using it as a pretext for almost everything bad that they want to do. More and more citizens are electing populist politicians who openly question the scientific consensus on climate change. Seeing as climate change has been turned into something so essential to the authorities as a justification; to take it away so suddenly would cause a calamitous loss of credibility for them. For this reason I would definitely not put it past them to engineer an ecological disaster that seems to be caused by manmade climate change to try and make us think again. What's more they don't care if people overheat or animals and trees die or farms can't grow any crops. (In fact they've got other nasty schemes in store for farmers anyway!) Don't fall for it, people.

Star Wars in Welsh

 

The first Star Wars film, A New Hope, is set to be given a Welsh language version. This is not to be confused with the very amusing "Taff Wars" videos; these are amateur YouTube Anglo-Welsh spoofs, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPM1v2nUkWA.  Star Wars- Gobaith Newydd, will not be on the big screen, but it will be broadcast on S4C. The cast will include some famous names as voice actors including Rhys Ifans, best known for Notting Hill, and Mark Lewis Jones who played a supporting role in JJ Abrams' sequel trilogy. I'm hoping this will be a better quality production than previous ones that switch language. This is not the first time Star Wars has been dubbed into other languages. I recall watching a German version as a child on Dutch TV. Dubbing used to mean that the viewer was put off by the fact that the shape of the actors' mouths did not match the speech they were hearing. This must be a particular problem for the hearing-impaired who have to lip-read. These days modern video editing should be able to manipulate the visuals to change the actors' mouths so that they sync with their dialogue. This has been a major news story, but should it really? All the Star Wars movies have been dubbed before; into German, like I said, but also French, Spanish and Japanese. I suppose the novelty comes from the fact that Welsh is not a world language and is in fact only spoken in Wales, with a few clusters in the diaspora, especially in Argentina and the USA. About a million people speak it as a first language, but probably at least that many speak it as a second language, including myself although I'm very rusty after all these years in Oxford. Welsh language education is pushed very vigorously in Wales, helped by some negative pressure that I don't approve of, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/10/cvd-is-ruining-wales.html.

The franchise has been dubbed into other smaller local languages like Swedish and Czech. (Amusing fact: If it ever gets a Norwegian one then Yoda's strange dialect will make sense because Norway's language has an object-subject-verb construction too.) This Welsh language version must come with challenges, the same ones faced by the writers of the "Anglish" script, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2020/03/star-wars-in-anglish.html. There are some terms in Star Wars that are unique to the franchise such as "droid", meaning an intelligent robot. They can't just use the same word droed, because that means "foot". They might just have to fall back on robot, which is an English loanword. We'll see. The notion of Star Wars in Welsh is completely canon. The story is set a long time ago in a galaxy far far way. Even though most of the characters are physically identical to humans, probably though some kind of parallel evolution, they are technically aliens and would not really be speaking the language the viewer hears. They primarily speak "Galactic Basic", a lingua franca that emerged out of the native tongues of Coruscant and the other "core worlds". Any human language can be substituted for that in the script for the convenience of the filmmakers and the comprehension of the audience. I look forward to watching this, only on Iplayer seeing as I don't live in Wales. I intend to keep the subtitles off and see how much I can still understand.

It IS Possible

 

MH370 is not the world's only missing aircraft; in fact I've also covered the story of Amelia Earhart closely, see background link below. Another one lost was Pan Am Flight 526A. This was a Douglas DC 4, like the one in the illustration, with sixty-four passengers and five crew that took off from San Juan, Puerto Rico en route to New York City on the afternoon of April the 11th 1952. Shortly after takeoff one of its four engines failed. The pilot turned around to do an emergency landing at the airport and straight away another engine shut down. With only two working engines and the danger of this remainder failing too, the pilot, Capt. John Burn, carried out a controlled ditching. (Ironically, Burn had been co-pilot of another plane that had crashed a few years earlier and he had survived.) Unfortunately the sea was rough and the plane quickly broke up and sank. Only seventeen people made it into the life rafts. Although the fate of the aircraft is not a mystery, the location of its remains was, for over seventy-four years. Now it has been found. A team of scientists from the Air-Sea Heritage Foundation in partnership with the Discovery Channel used underwater remotely operated vehicles to explore the seabed in the area until they came across the largest part of the aircraft; its fuselage and attached left wing. The wreckage is corroded and partly buried in sediment, but it is identifiable. Some of its Pan Am livery remains intact. It was at a depth of two thousand feet. Even if this were possible, the wreck has become regarded as a grave, like the Titanic. What this shows it that it is possible to find a lost vehicle in the depths of the ocean. Therefore there is no theoretical reason why MH370 cannot also be located. The difference with Pan Am 526A is that it is in comparatively shallow water close to shore and we already had a rough idea of where it might be. At least the margin of error is far smaller than the 7th arc. However, with MH370 there's an even bigger problem; is it even in the Indian Ocean at all? I doubt it. A number of MH37-tologists have postulated that the remains of the plane are in other very different places, such as Kazakhstan, according to Jeff Wise; the Gulf of Thailand, according to Florence De Changy; or the Maldives, according to Ashton Forbes. At the moment I'm leaning more towards Ashton's explanation, but time will tell. Certainly I have not given up at all on the prospect that the lost Malaysian airliner might one day be recovered.

The Why Files does Elisa Lam

 

I've been impressed with The Why Files' coverage of a number of enduring mysteries that I have addressed myself, for example see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2025/07/the-why-files-does-pentyrch.html. Now they have covered the mysterious disappearance and death of Elisa Lam. This is a tragedy that took place at the Cecil hotel in Los Angeles, USA in 2013. A young Canadian tourist vanished after being spotted on CCTV in a lift behaving strangely. Her body was later recovered from a freshwater cistern on the roof of the building. How she disappeared and died is still a mystery, see background links below. This is one of The Why Files' "stripped" videos, ie without Hecklefish. Perhaps considering the tragic subject matter it is more sensitive for AJ to address it alone. The Why Files coverage of the Elisa Lam case is fairly good. I cannot really comment much on most of it because it tallies with what I myself have already said; but they do make one or two errors. These mistakes may seem small, but they are crucial considering the verdict on Elisa's demise. There seems to be some contention over whether the water tank lid was left open or shut after Elisa vanished. AJ states that the technician who found the body said the lid was open. If it were open then that would support the official story of accidental death. If the lid had been shut after Elisa had been thrown inside then somebody else must have done it. She could not possibly have shut the lid from inside. If the lid were open the whole time then why did the search parties on the roof not notice? They checked the entire location. Also AJ states that Elisa's corpse was in the tank for nineteen days. Is this certain? Is it based on a pathology report? Alternatively it could be an assumption; Elisa disappeared on January the 31st and so anybody who believes the official story will assume therefore that Elisa climbed into the tank that same night, thereby causing her disappearance until the day of the 19th of February when her body was found. The Why Files have done a fairly good job on this mystery; and I'm glad they have addressed it, but the segment could have been better.

JET and the Big O

 

In my nostalgic quest for old TV adverts I've found some that are scary: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2025/03/scary-tv-ad.html, some that are funny and charming: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2025/04/powergen-bob.html, and some that are moving: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2025/05/tennents-hero.html. I have now recalled one that combines elements of the second and third kind. There is only one problem; I can't find a recording of it anywhere. The ad is part of a series that was produced for JET filling stations in the 1990's that emphasized community or family values and friendly small-scale service. Its slogan was: "It's a people thing." The central character is a man who runs a JET station on a busy road and has a cheerful extravert personality. He is popular with the drivers who call at his station to fill up. The main reason he stands out is that he adores the singer-songwriter Roy Orbison. He is such a big fan that he dresses like Orbison, including the smooth black hair and thick sunglasses. He even impersonates him, singing Pretty Woman and Only the Lonely while he goes about his duties. The narrator then says that if there is one thing that character thinks more of than Roy Orbison, it is his JET service station. "You may wonder what management think of (the central character's) strange obsession. Well, they prefer Kenny Rogers... JET, it's a people thing!" What I like about this advert is that it gives out the message that a person's eccentricity is something completely acceptable, even admirable. This message is endorsed by an international corporate brand. JET are proud to have somebody working for them who projects that kind of individuality. How often do you get that these days? Almost never, except perhaps with JD Wetherspoon, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/03/wetherspoon-bounces-back.html. Other than that, the trend in service industries is strictly about uniformity and conformity. Public facing personnel are ordered to utter template phrases like "enjoy your meal, please call again". They sometimes are even given courses in the right facial expressions and tones of voice. No wonder hardly anybody notices when we are replaced with machines, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2025/07/tesco-butlerian-jihad-4-always-ask.html. As far as I'm concerned this is monstrous; and that JET ad from the '90's therefore constitutes a rebel yell. Does anybody else remember this particular TV advert? RDR to Close

 

Very sad news today, the Roswell Daily Record is in administration and will probably have to shut down. The Record is a small local newspaper that has a regular readership of just twelve thousand, but it is the most famous journal in the world for any UFO enthusiast. This is because on July the 8th 1947 it published an article with the immortal title: "RAAF Captures Flying Disk". In my book, Roswell Rising- a Novel of Disclosure, the main character is the fictional reporter who writes it, see: https://hpanwo-bb.blogspot.com/2016/08/roswell-rising-is-here.html. I have sent review copies of Rising and its two sequels to the RDR. The Record was launched in 1903 by Charles Manson (not the serial killer) and Harvey Bear. Like all print newspapers it has been forced to downsize in recent years due to modern technology and media habits, and has reduced its frequency to three paper issues a week; but it kept going until July 2026. Its current publisher, Barbara Beck, has announced that its assets are in liquidation. There is an ongoing effort hopefully to sell it, but so far this has not been successful. The Roswell Daily Record, for me, is one of the greatest newspapers in the world along with The Light, Nexus magazine and Fortean Times; if only because of its one-off revolutionary coverage of the UFO phenomenon. Surely somebody out there has the will and money to buy it. How about Robert Bigelow? He has the passion and the cash. Bob, if you're reading this, snap it up, mate! I hope somebody does so that this historical periodical can be saved.

New Skinny Bob Videos

 

I've never been terribly impressed by the "Skinny Bob" videos. This viral series was uploaded in 2011 by a YouTube user known only as "Ivan0135". We know nothing about who he really is. Mike Hallowell of UFO Matrix magazine quickly spotted some continuity errors and scale discrepancies in the videos too. The channel includes four short, black-and-white clips showing a grey alien in what looks like a government facility. Other clips show multiple beings walking and running outside a country house. The narration claims that these videos are leaked film reels from Russia dating back to the 1940's, held by the famous Soviet intelligence service, the KGB. There is no soundtrack except the whirring of a projector that must have been added for effect. Source: https://www.youtube.com/@ivan0135/featured. That was all we ever found out though. The source of the films never came forward and the original media stock has never been examined. Skinny Bob was mostly forgotten after a couple of years, but some new footage has recently surfaced that has reopened the debate. This time we have three new videos uploaded to a new channel called "qtecqot"; nobody has worked out what the name means. They were uploaded over a two month period and include a lot of cryptic narration. The implication in the text and the upload titles is that the footage is brief clips of UFO close encounters from much longer reels made between 1942 and 1969. They are highly classified and published under strict anonymity. The sources are listed by name and have unusual tags such as "Tin bird", "taxi", "pace lap" and "virgin". The first and second videos include the projector soundtrack; and the first is a view out of the window of a human military aircraft. It shows what looks like a shiny, metallic ovoid UFO flying alongside. A man can be seen in the foreground wearing epaulets with insignia that looks like that of the USSR. We see a brief scene of a grey alien pointing at some strange markings on a curved metal surface and then it cuts to a similar scene to the first, except this is in colour and dated "1961". There is some Russian language text embossed in the frame; hopefully some Russian-speaker will translate these. You can hear voices on the soundtrack very faintly behind the noise of the wind and engines. There is a spinning propeller visible. The second video shows a closer shot of a silvery UFO, maybe the same one, with markings visible that resemble the ones in the first video. The object is closer to the ground and some human or humanoid figures can be seen in the background beside an aircraft hangar. The place appears to be an airport or airbase of some kind. This cuts to the scene of a fire with black smoke rising from it. There is then a beach with both humans and greys walking around, although this is a short scene in which the frame pans chaotically, as if from a handheld camera in which the operator has lost control. We then see a grey lying on the sand, unconscious or dead. This implies that the fire at the start was from an ET vehicle crash. The video ends with a scene that looks like a continuation of the original Skinny Bob collection. We see a very similar creature, walking around, lying in a bed and sitting in a chair. The third video is the longest, at 2 min 26 secs, and the most interesting in my opinion. It is entitled "interior walkthru (sic) and examination 8mm disclosure footage ufo". The first scene shows somebody shining a torch around a dark room containing objects that I cannot recognize. There are what looks like black eggs, mushrooms, a crystal ball and a dark surface with simple abstract symbols on. Together with the title I gather this is the inside of the vehicle that crashed in the previous scene, or a similar one. The final scene is the most remarkable in the series. We see a tabletop with a notepad and what looks like medical tools on it. A human has placed their hand on it and next to it is a second hand that looks similar to the human's, but obviously is not quite the same. It is thin and only has four digits, including an opposable thumb. These are much longer and thinner than on a human hand. Another pair of hands appears from the top of the frame wearing rubber gloves and places a pulse oximeter on the little finger of the alien hand. The quality of the videos is poor by modern standards and about what you would expect from amateur cine recordings in the mid-20th century. Apart from the brief scene in the first video, there is no original soundtrack and they are all in black and white. They match the format and style of the original 2011 Skinny Bob release perfectly. What we are shown appears to be part of a visual report on a crashed UFO and the retrieval of its occupants, Roswell style; although this example appears to be in Russia. There have been numerous UFO incidents reported in Russia, by far the largest country in the world, dating back throughout its history. Most of the best evidence was gathered when it was the central state of the Soviet Union, 1917 to 1991. The collapse of that regime led to a catastrophic leak of KGB files. Its successor, the FSB, has recaptured some of them, but not all. During the 1990's most valuable items of any kind in Russia fell into the possession of gangsters; and these were then touted on the black market. For a few years, anybody could buy a top secret UFO file for the right price; and indeed some people did, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2020/04/russian-roswell-fact-or-fake.html. Therefore it is not theoretically unfeasible for these new Skinny Bob videos to be real. The problem is that without more information there is no way of knowing. Modern AI image creation is now so good that the best of it is indistinguishable from real photography. It is therefore also at least equally feasible that somebody created these videos with an image generator. Photographic evidence alone simply just does not carry the same weight that it used to. There are literally hundreds of images out there in social media similar to Skinny Bob that are proven to be faked; therefore we have a terrible signal-to-noise ratio problem. If we are seeing something real now then the publisher, through no fault of their own, is the ultimate little boy who cried wolf. Unless the creator comes forward and demonstrates what they did; or the person who found this secret movie footage goes public with the corroborating evidence, forensic examination of the reels or official documents etc, then this mystery cannot be solved.

Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day has been released onto home media. It can be purchased or rented on digital streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV or Fandango. Obviously, like with all films, Disclosure Day has "proliferated". Janet Coaches

 

Have you ever suddenly noticed something and than as soon as you do, you cannot un-notice it? I have; unmarked white coaches. I see them everywhere. They look just like normal coaches operated by National Express or Megabus, but they are plain white with no livery. Their windows are heavily tinted. This is not totally unprecedented; some private and charter coaches have this, but it is unusual. I call them "Janet" coaches after the mysterious white airliners that fly personnel to and from Area 51, see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2022/12/area-51-portal.html. I don't know what their purpose is, but they have been seen delivering guests to migrant hotels, for example see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88LNN8hp8Ns. If this is their principle service then that is worrying because there are so many of them. I see them most days when I am at work or take a journey somewhere. There must be thousands of them nationwide. Even the most alarmist and pessimistic sentinel would not agree that this country contains quite that many illegal immigrants. However, I have only seen them since the migration crisis began in the late 20-teens; unless this is just an effect of awareness. As I said, I noticed them and now I see them everywhere. Were they also there beforehand, but I just didn't notice them? Either way, these furtive vehicles have some kind of purpose. They are moving people from one place to another and they are doing it all the time. Their operator, unlike most, does not wish to promote their brand to the public. Who are they carrying? UFO Whistleblowers Freed!

 

A news story has broken that is almost unbelievable. I had to check thoroughly to make sure it was true. Fox News has reported that President Trump has directed all US federal agencies, intelligence outfits and military forces to waive non-disclosure security regulations for whistleblowers from the UAP legacy programme. This is an action by the US president that many people in the UFO community have hoped for over the last few years, but others have doubted would ever happen. It certainly taken a long time and those of us with less patience had given up. Despite that, the content of the waivers pretty much makes up for that. They specifically refer to crash-retrievals and reverse-engineering in as many words. This policy has been initiated as a result of the continuing pressure on the Trump administration from Congress following the hearings featuring David Grusch, Lue Elizondo and other UFO experts. The NDA waivers do not completely eliminate the risk whistleblowers face; and legal campaigners like Danny Sheehan are continuing the push for full legal immunity. The UFO community has responded the way you would expect. Enthusiasts like me are thrilled and the backslappers have doubled down on their cynicism. For some reason I'm finding their negativity far less tolerable right now, probably because this should be such good news for us all; in fact it's the very absence of this kind of news that the backslappers have been moaning about for years. Yet, they have simply moved the goalposts to avoid losing their pathetic poser cred. Astral Tweeted literally hours after the story dropped: "The excuses are already starting. Now it's that UFO whistleblowers won't come forward because Trump issued a directive instead of an executive order." Patrick from Vetted ReTweeted him with the quote: "Surprise surprise." If Tim Burchett wheeled an alien body into a press conference they would find something to whinge about. I don't think either Astral or Patrick have any training in law; if they did then maybe they would understand that eighty years of multilayered suppression cannot be undone in a couple of hours with a single new story. Saying so is not an "excuse". I wish these backslappers would get out of their own arses! Trump has not even put it on Truth Social yet which is where he usually makes new announcements. I don't know exactly where this new breakthrough will lead, but I'm watching it like a hawk. No doubt I'll be posting updates soon.

Burnham Scraps Digital ID

 

Thank goodness! Our new prime minister has shown himself to be a great moral and conscientious leader on his very first day in office! He has announced he is scrapping Starmer's flagship digital ID scheme. I was totally opposed to this Big Brother plan. How wonderful it is that Britain finally has a prime minister we can respect and admire. He's a true patriot and freedom fighter, just like Trump and Boris were originally, but Andy Burnham will not be corrupted like they were. He will remain true to his noble cause. Er... no! I'm afraid not. I do not really think for one moment that our new fearful non-leader, the Tweedle-dee to Starmer's Tweedle-dum, is doing this out of the goodness of his heart or his love for freedom. Burnham's appointment is simply the excuse to cancel a legislative drive to introduce a database state that was unworkable and grinding to a halt, as I explain in the background links below. Shining a Light

 

A week ago, on Monday the 13th, I had a very distressing experience, but shortly afterwards I was given a wonderful gift. It began when I entered a post office to deposit some cash. This is one of those small post offices embedded in a grocer and attended to by the shop's staff. I approached the counter and went through the usual procedure counting out the money and putting my bank card in the machine. I handed the cash over and said "There should be £120 there." The staff member then counted it out himself and replied: "No, there's only £100." I nodded, not challenging him. Although at the same time another part of my mind was yelling at me that he was plainly holding six £20 notes in his hands. As soon as I got out of the shop it hit me like an earthquake. The cashier had just paid in £100 when I gave him £120. He obviously thought he would try and see if he could fool me into being conned. He no doubt slipped one of the £20 notes into his pocket afterwards before putting the rest in the till. A series of horrible emotions ran through my head. Firstly, anger at him for his theft. Secondly, frustration at knowing that the moment I completed the transaction there is probably no way to correct it (although I have written to the Post Office to try). I also felt rage at myself. Why did I let it happen? Why was I not on my guard? This is not the first time I've been short-changed like this, far from it. In fact the number of times I've been ripped off in various ways are too numerous to list. A client still owes me £50 for a pub clean I did last year. A nightclub doorman once tricked me into paying double the entrance fee by telling me my friend had already gone in and not paid. I could go on for pages and pages. Despite all this, I still generally deal with strangers in good faith. This is the dark side of my genial nature, my "pathological bonhomie", my extraversion, my cooperative instinct. The cashier had exploited these; he had taken advantage of my personality. He is somebody who has served me numerous times and so has probably assessed me as a pushover; and is he wrong? The way I always smile and thank him, wish him a pleasant day... which I obviously will never do again. After a few minutes my anger turned to sadness. I know that I live in a society in which I will be considered the bad guy in this situation, not him. I will be chided for being so vulnerable and naive, for allowing myself to be conned; in fact I know some of you readers are thinking that right now. Those same people would probably not criticise the cashier if they ever met him; they might even congratulate him for a job well done. After all it's a "dog-eat-dog world!" isn't it? My sadness was then topped up with a terrible sense of isolation and loneliness. The violation I had just experienced in the form of barefaced theft reminded me of how different I am to most people. I would never do such a thing to anybody else; but this doesn't make me more valuable a person in my society, it makes me more worthless. I was walking down a familiar street, but it suddenly felt totally foreign. I felt like I was lost, like a man in a lifeboat in a rough sea. What followed next was something I very rarely feel and hope I never feel again: despair. Maybe the nihilists are right, I thought. Maybe I've been kidding myself all these years that life has any meaning. I always believed there was some kind of non-physical intelligence around who knew who I was and is concerned for my welfare. I now found myself doubting that. Maybe nobody is out there who is on my side. I am completely alone. I am doomed to be a helpless plaything of indifferent fate and the human malevolence, that only I am so stupidly sentimental enough not to practice myself, for the rest of my pointless existence.
 
I sighed and continued walking, heading for work to do my usual jobs, but at that moment I felt I was really now just a robot, acting out a program. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my mobile phone; and, lo and behold, the torch was on! That was strange; I hardly ever use the torch and when I do, I always make sure I switch it off afterwards. It has never turned on by itself before. I stopped walking and gasped. Was this some kind of answer to my subconscious prayer, my silent cry for help? Was somebody up there shining a light on me? I didn't allow myself to continue that train of thought straight away; I had work to do and so had to remain practical for the day. I switched off the torch, put my phone away and continued my walk to work. When I got home I began researching. I looked up the technical details of my mobile phone, using Google AI to help. Sometimes my phone does things I don't intend. I have occasionally suffered the very embarrassing problem of "pocket dialling". I always keep my phone screen-locked in my pocket, but it once dialled 999 by itself simply from rubbing against my leg. The emergency number can be accessed despite the screen being locked behind a passcode. Luckily the police just called me back to check I was alright and didn't punish me. An app that often goes off accidentally is the camera; this is because I have the shortcut as default on factory settings. I would need to disable it manually and have never bothered. However, there is no shortcut for the torch on my phone. A user can add one, but I never have. In fact the only way to switch on the torch is so complicated I sometimes forget and have to search for it. I have to swipe up from the display then swipe right and then press the correct button. I am careful to keep that page open while I shine it so I can turn it off easily when I'm finished. If I don't, then a temporary shortcut does automatically appear to remind me; but this is only if the torch is already on, not when it is off. I had to check my modes and routines in settings. I only have three active modes, apart from normal function: theatre, aeroplane and sleep. None of those three have the torch listed. This means there is no way in any of the workings of my phone that the torch could possibly have gone on in my pocket. I was stunned. Strangely enough, Google AI took an open mind to the possibility of psychokinesis. Had my mental turmoil somehow caused my mobile phone to trigger the torch? To be honest I had started the dialogue by asking the AI about Dean Radin, so I had prompted it a bit. Dr Dean Radin is a parapsychologist and author who researches "mind over matter" psi phenomena at the famous Institute of Noetic Sciences. He is featured in the film What the Bleep do We Know!? talking about his work, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfqjyTRDj8A. He has done experiments which indicate that direct mental intent can alter the output of random number generators. Did I do something similar with my mobile phone? Possibly, if so that alone would be amazing. However, unlike Radin's system, a mobile phone is not designed to be altered by any kind of external influence; in fact it is specifically shielded against outside interference. Also, the effect Radin discovered was small compared to actually moving a hardware switch, which is necessary to turn on the torch. I did my due diligence as a researcher and eliminated "rational explanations"; so in the end I have to conclude that this is likely to be a piece of synchronicity. In the links at the bottom I give other examples. If this is synchronicity then it is the most extraordinary example I've ever experienced. It scores high on two factors. Firstly the unlikelihood, even impossibility, of the event occurring by normal means; and secondly, it happened at a moment of extreme personal significance. It was literally just a few minutes after I had left the shop and the first time I had looked at my phone following that incident. As I finished my investigation I leaned back in my chair and muttered "thank you!" Whoever, or whatever, did this for me is forever in my debt. Call it "God" or a different name, it's up to you. This is what I mean by it being a wonderful gift. If it had not happened I would have been on a downer for weeks, maybe permanently. I might have been seduced into a misanthropic and social Darwinist frame of mine myself, and decided that if I couldn't beat them I might as well join them. I could have become a thief myself; after all, why not? What does it matter? It's my victims' fault, not mine. I have been saved from that. Not that I feel total joy and delight about what was done to me. I will not be embracing the man who stole from me or blowing him kisses in the checkout queue. I am still angry and, as I said, I have written to the Post Office to complain. Actually I don't think these gifts are intended to make us appease injustice or ignore malevolent actions. However, my gift has made my torment much easier to live with. I am now £20 poorer, but I'd gladly have paid far more than £20 for this experience! This is the first time I have told anybody about what happened. I'm quite surprised at myself. Why have I not been yelling it out? I think the answer is that for me this experience is very precious and sacred, almost an intimacy between me and the universe. I felt I had to wait for the right time. It felt like the wrong time before now. I don't think I will ever forget last Monday. Its message will always be an influence on my life.

UFO Disclosure Game

 

I'm pleased to say somebody has decided to create a board game called the UFO Disclosure Game which is about what its name is. This is a tabletop knowledge trivia strategy game about historical UFO cases and how the information on them can be published. In this world of endless cyberspace entertainment I'm happy to see somebody go back to our entertainment roots. This game has good old-fashioned boards and cards. It is for three to six players and usually takes forty-five minutes to complete. It's perfect for a family evening or a group of friends having a night in. It reminds me of David Hodrien's UFO Wave, see: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2023/04/hpanwo-show-504-podcast-dave-hodrien.html. A game is a great way of spreading serious information, like a book or film. This is why I think Disclosure Day is so groundbreaking, see background link below. Reed is Back!

 

Somebody has just reappeared in the UFOlogical media whom I never thought I'd see again. In 1996 Dr Jonathan Reed from Washington USA supposedly had an encounter with an alien in the woods where he was walking his dog. The dog was killed by the alien and Reed attacked the alien knocking it unconscious. He then took the stunned being home with him and made a series of videos of it. He also filmed the scene in the forest beforehand. In 2014 Reed totally disappeared off the scene shortly after appearing live in Felixstowe, Suffolk. I feel a lot of distress dealing with this subject for two reasons: firstly, it led to me experiencing some of the worst internet abuse I've ever had; and, as regular readers know, that's really saying something! Some of what people said about me bordered on criminal. I also had the video given multiple false-flags that almost cost me my channel. As a result I have privatized the YouTube upload, something I very rarely do. However, the recording is still available on all the HPANWO TV alt-tech pages. He organized and funded Dr Reed's tour.
 
Perhaps because 2026 is the thirtieth anniversary, Dr Jonathan Reed has released a new documentary called Contact in the Woods- The Dr Jonathan Reed Story. This one hour documentary was allegedly created by anonymous filmmakers who are hiding their identity for the sake of their own security, because the government are still persecuting Reed and anybody else who helps him; however, according to its IMDB slot, the film is directed by Dr Reed himself. Google AI states that in secondary sources the producers are named as Brent and Blake Cousins, a pair of brothers who are well known characters in "UFOwood". They work closely with figures like Dr Steven Greer and Jaime Maussan. In fact Maussan is also credited in Contact in the Woods. The film does not provide much new information for anybody familiar with the case; but it presents the story with a series of new fictionalizations, including original animation. This brings the narrative to life very vividly in a way previous productions have not. Despite claims that Reed has never changed his story, in this film there are a few details that were not mentioned in previous publications, including his book Link- An Extraterrestrial Odyssey. According to the book, Reed told nobody about the alien in his freezer except his girlfriend; in the film he states that when he got back to his home in Seattle, he called his friend Gary and Gary came round and helped him capture the first footage of "Freddie" the alien. Reed himself has visibly aged in this documentary, which you would expect considering the passage of time; however, he also does not look to be in good health. His voice has become weaker and his body is constantly trembling, as if he has a neurological problem like Parkinson's disease. Not long after the incident originally happened Royce Myers, one of the first ever backslappers, published what he called an "exposure" that Dr Jonathan Reed was a fraud, see: https://www.ufowatchdog.com/jonathan_reed.htm. I did not believe Myers at first. At the time several other researchers were supporting Reed; but since then, especially after watching this new movie, I am fairly certain Reed actually did fabricate his experience. I'll probably go into more details in a future post. Obviously I'd love to be proved wrong on that!

Something strange has happened, something not altogether unwelcome. For some reason the frustrating algorithmic shackles on HPANWO Voice have mysteriously disappeared. As you can see in the illustration, which is a current screenshot from my stats log, at some time, traffic to HPANWO Voice radically increased. It has even cleared its pre-shadowbanning initial levels. This boost is confined to the Voice. I've not yet enjoyed such a blow up on HPANWO, HPANWO TV, Ben's Bookcase, HPANWO Radio or the HPWA. When exactly this cage door was opened is unclear. I just happened to look at my stats a couple of weeks ago and saw that when previously my articles were topping out at around fifty hits they were suddenly clearing a thousand within a fortnight. From the graph you can trace this increase on posts dating back to around mid-March. That doesn't mean the change happened then, only that posts after that time period are the ones benefiting. I suspect it happened more recently because I regularly look at my stats. Why has this happened? Is it necessarily a good thing? Well, this could simply be a change in Blogger's analytics system so my views are being counted more precisely than before; meaning the problem I raised in my article Fake Stats above has been solved. Then again, it could be that I've swum into the net of some tracker bots and that all my extra hits are not real people. To be honest, this makes sense because the number of comments I'm getting has not gone up in proportion to my views. I certainly have no reason to think anybody I know is helping share my online work more than they do already. Still, whatever is going on it's nothing to complain about. LHC Shutdown

 

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire), has decided to switch off the Large Hadron Collider. On the 29th of last month it powered down all the particle beams. The reason is to carry out major maintenance and an upgrade. This is called "LS3- Long Shutdown 3" and the work is scheduled to take around four years. Parts of the seventeen mile circular device will be dismantled and engineers will replace older components with new magnets and cryogenic lines. After the refit the machine will be renamed the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, HiLumi LHC. With all its new capabilities the beams will be narrower and focused more tightly. This will increase the volume of particle collisions tenfold. Many people are wondering what effect this will have. Seeing as operations at the LHC have a timeline that matches perfectly the emergence of the Mandela Effect; presumably, if the LHC really is the cause of the Mandela Effect, that pattern will continue. Could it be that until the new collider is started there will be no new Mandela Effect experiences? It's interesting that examples of the Mandela Effect did not all appear at the same time. The original one in which people recall Nelson Mandela dying in jail in the '80's, which gave the phenomenon its name, was published by Fiona Broome in 2009, just a few months after the LHC started operations. Since then several hundred others have been collated, but not all at once. The original ones, Loony Tunes and Berenstain Bears etc, emerged soon after; but others, Mr Monopoly, Fruit of the Loom and KitKat, came later. I personally had never heard of the Blue Riband one until I saw this old TV advert on YouTube about three years ago, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQnRgVipDTA. The comments section is full of people who remember the product as Blue Ribbon. I do too and I remember this very advert with its catchy song on TV as a child in the 1980's. Even though the video is seventeen years old, the comments are generally much more recent. New ones are popping up all the time. Is this because the people who experienced them never reported them earlier, or is it that they just appeared at that time because of something going on in the LHC? Interesting to note that when Run 2 began in 2015, with the collision power almost doubled from 7 TeV to 13 TeV, new Mandela reports skyrocketed. One of the stages of scientific inquiry is prediction; so if CERN is the cause of the Mandela Effect we should quickly see a decrease in new Mandelas until the machine is switched back on. It's worth bearing in mind that doing the Long Shutdown 3 other particle accelerators are continuing their collisions as normal; Fermilab, KEK, Brookhaven NL etc, are still smashing atoms and some are even upgrading at the same time as the LHC. Two of them are at CERN, the SPS and ISOLDE. It's as if there is some kind of global coordination at work so that in a few years these machines can come back to life and work as one for a collective enterprise. What kind? Who knows? The next four years will be revealing and I shall be doing my own study about what happens.

Will Tomorrow be Disclosure Day?

 

How many times have I written those words? I first raised this issue back in 2007; this is the first published post I can find, see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2007/09/stephen-greer-article.html. Since then I've returned to it again and again, and it's become one of my favourite subjects. At the bottom is the huge portal where I've collated all my work on UFO Disclosure. I've even written three books about it. So I understand if readers groan at the title of this article; "Not again, Ben, please!" Bear with me! The reason I am bringing it up this time is because of some statements made by Mark Christopher Lee, a filmmaker who specializes in UFO documentaries. Back in February Mark made a stunning announcement, that President Trump was going to make a Disclosure speech very soon. He was given a specific date, the 8th of July. This happens to be World Disclosure Day and the seventy-ninth anniversary of the Roswell Incident. He said there would also be a revealing hearing on Mayday. He knew this because of an "insider at the White House". Mark would not name his source although there has been some suggestion that it is Bob Bigelow. It even reached the mainstream media. Obviously the skeptics and backslappers did not take this prediction seriously; and they were apparently vindicated when a couple of weeks later Mark published a full, unconditional retraction and apology. He said that he had made a mistake and might possibly been used to spread disinformation. He did this in a very dignified and mature way. True to form, the backslappers would not let it go and continued to dwell on the matter long after it was necessary in my view, but that's backslappers for you.
 
However, since then there has been a major development. Mark Christopher Lee has renewed his prediction for July the 8th. What's happening is that President Trump is currently in Turkey and tomorrow he is scheduled to attend a major NATO summit. This is the first time a US president has visited the country in over a decade. This is a high stakes event and Turkey's own President Erdogan will be in talks with him. Trump says he wants closer ties with Turkey to lure it away from Russian influence. However, when he takes to the stage in Ankara tomorrow he has the alien speech prepared. He may well deliver it after his main address, in a separate event at the end of the NATO proceedings. Turkey, a powerful nation on the cusp of Europe and Asia, would be a good strategic place to reveal the truth about UFO's. The fact that it is the Roswell anniversary will add pathos to the event. Well, Mark sounds extremely confident, and that really means something when you consider his past U-turn. If he were even the tiniest bit uncertain then he would no doubt show some caution after being bitten before. This alone gives Mark's new forecast extra validity. Botley Road (Non-Woo-Woo)

 

Today I have a non-woo-woo article for you, very rare for me! It's one of only about a dozen I've ever written. It concerns Botley Road in Oxford. Something I seriously suspect that many people in the city have forgotten ever existed. This major throughfare is the principle traffic connection between West Oxford and the rest of Oxford. Anybody who lives in North Hinksey, Dean Court, Chawley, Cumnor and Botley are cut off from the city by all motor transport. It has played havoc with the bus routes and a number of services that normally terminate at Gloucester Green are currently tucked into a row of overcrowded and unsheltered stops by Osney Island. To drive to the city centre from West Oxford is possible, but only via a massive detour all the way north along the ring road or south Redbridge and to Donnington Bridge. This situation has been going on for so long I had totally forgotten how and when it started. I had to look it up; April 2023. The original plan was a joint endeavour by Network Rail and Oxon and Oxford City Council to expand the railway station, build a new railway bridge and lower the road level so double-decker buses could pass underneath it. This was estimated to take "just a few months!" It has now been over three years. The worksite has been a mysterious collection of hoarding, direction signs and weird tunnels and pathways that keep shifting, depending on what part of the place is being attended to at the time. Every time I pass by there I have to start anew finding the correct route through the chaos. The problem was that the project hit unexpected obstacles that caused massive delays. I regularly joke on HPANWO TV that they must have found a crashed flying saucer, but the reality is nothing so exciting. A series of water pipes had to be diverted along with sewers; these had to be kept separate to prevent contamination. There were also gas mains and electricity cables that "had not been mapped" which means nobody knows exactly where they were. That sounds strange. Were there no records? Surely the people who installed them originally could have told them. In some cases this happened a long time ago, over a century, but it is still odd to think that nobody knew where these utilities were despite the people of Oxford using them every day. The contractor, with the inopportune name of "Keir" wasn't even sure if the cables were isolated and could therefore be removed safely. Strangely, the electricity company didn't know either. To work it out a number of controlled discharges were tried. All this work had to be negotiated with Thames Water and this took even more time and money. The excavation of the road was hampered by a "Victorian arch", a very old brick structure designed to protect the road from the water table. Again, there was no information available about how big this construction was and how it could be removed. The deeper dip will also require special drainage. But even the darkest night ends with the dawn and now it has been announced that Botley Road will reopen at the end of next month. It will be improved too, apparently; with proper cycle tracks and even, eventually, an extra platform at the station. The cost of the original operation was said to be £161 million but have risen to £237 million, all funded by the Department of Transport... which means we, the taxpayers. Buses can once more travel to the city centre and people can drive to and from West Oxford.
