The US Department of Defence has provided independent
confirmation of the revelation made by Luis Elizondo in December 2017, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2017/12/a-week-in-ufology.html.
A DoD spokesman told the New York Post
that the US government
did indeed have a programme to investigate "unidentified aerial
phenomena." from 2007 to 2012. The term "unidentified flying
object" is never used in officialdom because of its connotations in
popular culture. Nick Pope confirmed that the UK Ministry of Defence used the
same term as the USDoD for the same reason. He also called this new revelation
a "bombshell". Since December 2017, the possibility that the Advanced
Aerospace Threat Identification Programme was just another scheme for spotting new
enemy aircraft could not be ruled out, although even at the time it seemed
unlikely. It is far more unlikely now. One of the most outspoken ATTIP cold
water pourers is John Greenewald of The Black Vault, see: https://www.theblackvault.com/, yet
even he is impressed with the latest news. Source: https://nypost.com/2019/05/22/the-pentagon-finally-admits-it-investigates-ufos/.
I myself was fairly cautious about it; especially seeing as the To The Stars
Academy employed Hal Puthoff, the former head of the CIA remote viewing project,

Whether my misgivings can be alleviated remains to be seen, but this is a big
step in the right direction. Now this statement has been made, the press will
demand more information and so will I. No doubt I will be providing an update
on this matter soon. We UFOlogists have been saying for years and years that governments
have an interest in UFO's even when they have sworn with their hands on their
hearts that they do not. I'm not the kind to say "I told you so"...
but I told you so!
