News of the World Phone-Hacking Scandal

Rupert Murdoch’s News International organization is involved in a scandal right now. They’ve been caught tapping the phones of the families of murder victims Milly Dowler, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman. See: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-14036673 This is not the first time Murdoch’s rag, The News of the World has been blasted in public for tapping phones. A few years ago they bugged the phones of several members of the Royal Family.

In a way I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. These are gutter tabloid newshounds; do we expect them to act honestly? We buy their papers and believe the shit they write in it, everything from Al-Qaida to the Peter and Jordan split. We fork out money to read something we should hesitate to wipe our arses on… and then we raise our hands in shock and indignation when they’re caught out… fibbing!

In truth Murdoch should do time for this, but in the end one of his underlings will take the rap and this is what Murdoch will come up smelling of:
