Squatcher Doxing

I came across a video by a cryptozoologist who is complaining that he has received abuse online. He says he has been doxed, in other words his personal details has been published on social media. This situation has been caused by the premier of a new documentary called Capturing Bigfoot, see: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31457111/. He saw it and expressed a very decisive opinion about it. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlvNMTv5x-Q. I have not seen this move yet myself. The film launched at the South-by-Southwest Film Festival last month. I don't know much about this film except that, based on current trends, I know it takes a very skeptical bent. I will reserve judgement until I've seen it; and I will provide a full review of my own after that. In the meantime I totally and unconditionally oppose any abuse, harassment and incitement to mob misconduct towards anybody involved with it; be it in production, distribution or media reception. We cannot win this war of ideas by behaving like the Orwellian censors or cancel culture zealots. Reality will not be decided by denouncement. Please, leave these people alone! The truth will out.

The South-by-Southwest Film Festival in Austin is a great event. Friends I have in Texas often attend. The capturing bigfoot film didn't intentionally set out to 'debunk' 'Bigfoot' as it wasn't created by some sort of diehard sceptics, however *spoiler* during the course of filming the authenticity of the legendary Patterson-Gimlin film is called into question due to footage shot a year previously of a 'trial run' of the potential fakery involved being uncovered through Patterson's relatives. That alongside their witness testimony of Husband/Father very much casts doubt on the Patterson-Gimlin film being anything other than faked. Now that in itself doesn't dismiss the potential existence of a 'Bigfoot' cryptid but it would be like proving the Cottingley Fairies were faked to fairy cryptid believers.

Hi Anon. The ~SXBSW has a reputation for launching controversial works and indeed it showed Age of Disclosure months before anybody else got to see it. It also had an exclusive interview with Steven Spielberg about his own Disclosure movie that revealed a lot. I gathered as much about Capturing Bigfoot docu, but I'll wait till I've seen it before expressing an opinion.
