Trump Shot at Again

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2024/07/trump-shooting-livestream.html.
At about 7 PM UK time, 2 PM local time, shots were heard coming from a golf course in Palm Beach, Florida USA. It is a course owned by Donald Trump and the former and future president was playing at the time. His bodyguards returned fire and chased after a man who was seen driving away from the area in a black saloon car. This car was intercepted by the police and the driver was arrested. The US Secret Service found a discarded assault rifle in the bushes along with a Go-Pro camera; the shooter may have intended to livestream or record his activities. Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3rllnd1pypo. It looks like this is another attempted assassination. This is unprecedented in American history; two shootings involving the same US president so close to each other in time, just over two months. No details have been given by the authorities yet, but this kind of animosity befits a third world dictatorship, not the good old US of A. Kamala Harris Tweeted: "Violence has no place in America" which is about as much as we can expect from her. Luckily it seems Trump's security detail has improved since their culpable negligence in Butler, Pennsylvania. Also the shooter targeted the wrong location. He was two holes ahead of where Trump was currently playing. He may have decided to risk a shot immediately instead of waiting longer because during that time he would have been caught. I'm sure more details will emerge before long. Is this the last time now? I hope so, but there has been so much anti-Trump hysteria in the media which has driven so many people into a frenzy that the threat cannot be completely removed.

You wonder what these would be assassins think will be the result if their attempts were to succeed? Although I wager that an amateur hitman, probably acting alone, is not a strategic thinker.
In my view, if Trump were to be murdered, it could spark an actual civil war in America.
First, the republicans who back Trump (some 80 million people?) would not simply vanish and accept some sort of defeat.
Second, killing Trump would completely undermine the legitimacy of the Democrat presidential candidate who may presumably win by default of her rival being taken out of the race with weeks to go, quite literally. Actually this point is, I think, more damaging than the anger the simple outrage of the act would cause. The fact those 80 million people might face a presidential term of government that has not been achieved through due process, through democracy, would very likely germinate fierce opposition to the new government on a level that may make large swathes of the populace ungovernable. Even if the election were delayed, Biden is unfit to continue and Harris would become defacto president anyway, hardly a tenable position.
Killing Trump would, in my view, martry him to his supporters and deny any short or even medium term prospect of the USA finding a sustainable political middle ground.
Last, it damages, if not entirely denudes, America's credible global influence - the world police that cannot control its own citizens, whose next president, be it republican or democrat, is in post on a bye. We know well enough here in the UK, in a country based on democracy, a leader with no mandate cannot command respect from those that do, and a country without a credible leader on the global stage will simply be left behind; the world moves to fast to accommodate liabilities, even when all diplomatic decency and politeness has been exhausted. The problem, should this materialize for America (maybe its starting to?), in my opinion, is that due to their economy, military and financial power, the global destabilisation that might follow is far more destructive than anything any president could be individually capable of in a single term of office.
Like I said, these lone gunman most likely didn't think along these lines, or consider that their actions, and their schoolboy politics, could cause death and suffering beyond their comprehension.

Hi Anon. Thanks for the input and you've made some good points that I hadn't thought of. I doubt if Routh was some kind of insider. He seems to have links to the foreign mercenary force in Ukraine, but that's not unusual. I've always said that the plot against Trump involves opportunistic LIHOP's. Unless the points you raised have occurred to his political enemies.
