MH370 Search Postponed

The search did resume. Armada 8605 has spent twenty-three of the fifty-five days Ocean Infinity agreed with the Malaysian government. Not all that time was spent at the 7th Arc searching though. Those days include the trip to Fremantle for refuelling and victualing, which takes about five days. The team also lost a couple of days due to bad weather. Today it was announced that the ship will not return to the MH370 search area. Instead it has been dispatched to Pago Pago in American Samoa. This is disappointing news and I'm sure the families are very distressed by it. The decision was made because of a bad weather forecast. The sub-Antarctic seas are called the "Roaring Forties" for a reason. Storms can spring up suddenly from nowhere and be very severe. The ship needs fairly calm seas to launch and retrieve its AUV's. OI have simply decided to use their ship for another task until the bad weather clears and will then probably send it back to the 7th Arc. Alternatively they might dispatch a different ship. OI called the missing airliner "unfinished business" and are determined to find it. The government have nothing to lose because they agreed to this no-find-no-fee deal. Obviously Jeff and Ashton believe the search cannot succeed because they're looking in completely the wrong place. I tend to agree with Ashton, but who knows what the truth really is? Right now there's no cause to think OI will not continue the mission and end up completing the fifty-five day pledge, probably longer if they make a breakthrough. However, as they say in Game of Thrones, winter is coming. By the end of May the weather will deteriorate to the point where any operation will be impossible. If they fail to locate the wreck by then, will they resume in the spring?
