Roswell Slides Day

Well, this is the big day. The long hoped for and long feared 5th of May has finally arrived. You can watch the proceedings by registering here; it costs about £7: http://bewitness.mx/. Several HPANWO readers have observed that I have recently become obsessed with this subject; they're right, take a look at the background links at the bottom. The slides will be unveiled in an event beginning at 5.30 PM in Mexico, that's 11.30 PM British Summer Time. Richard Dolan has recently posted that he has seen the slides and is impressed by them; this is encouraging because Dolan is somebody whose judgement I respect. The Skeptics have a different view, here is a commentary by Dr David Clarke: http://drdavidclarke.co.uk/2015/05/04/sliding-towards-roswell/. The mainstream media have only just decided to speak out. Here's the Metro: http://metro.co.uk/2015/05/05/new-photos-of-roswell-crash-which-prove-aliens-exist-will-be-shown-off-today-5181225/. This doesn't help. Nothing will be proved this evening. (Also note the illustrations of stills from the fake Alien Autopsy film). Proof will not come from two photographs. This Be Witness event is not the finish line of the race, it's the starting gun. It will be the beginning of a process of investigation; the repetition of experiments and the corroboration of data. The best we can hope for is that these slides are shown to be definitely genuine 1940's Kodachrome shots. It will take some time to verify that independently. However, as I explain in the links below, they are still just two photos of something that looks like an alien, nothing more. We will need additional substantiating evidence. The organizers of the Be Witness event have used slogans like "the change of history!"; this is way over the top. My aspiration now is that the confirmation of Carey and Schmitt's hypothesis over the slides leads to further revelations; but we don't yet know if that will happen. The slides by themselves are not a Disclosure event. The sad alternative is that this is a huge mistake and that the slides just show an Inca mummy or something; the consequences of this eventuality will be apocalyptic. This will be my last word on the subject until afterwards. The dye is cast; the waiting will soon be over. Stick the coffee on; it's going to be a long night.

The Enfield Haunting- Part 1

I don't want to judge an entire three-part series on its first episode, but I was deeply disappointed by Part One of The Enfield Haunting. I won't say too much until I've seen all of it, but so far so bad. The true story of the Enfield poltergeist is a fascinating one, and that is why I demand that any fictionalization of it be respectful and rational. This series enjoyed max-hype by the TV networks and their press, and so everybody was fondly anticipating it, especially those with an interest in the paranormal especially if they are familiar with the real Enfield case. This however was crude and very pretentious attempt at a post-modern filme noire. There was lots of false-suspense, prolonged facial close-ups and other pat pseudo-intellectual abstract devices. I do wish modern TV producers would stop showing us how clever they are and started being more sensible. The pace was achingly slow, to the point where it almost ground to a halt several times. Some of the shots were so badly lit that I couldn't even see what was going on. The script was clichéd and lame: "Wot's goin' on 'ere then?"... "We're tryin' to contact the poltergeist."... "Oh, well I'm just gonna go and do me 'omework." was fairly typical of the dialogue level. That was merely annoying, but what disturbed me was an element of cultural Marxist daring which is all too common in modern TV drama. I'm not that bothered by the injection of controversy for controversy's sake alone; I just consider it boring and regard it as something bad writers use as a substitute for a proper story to engage the viewer; however when it involves children that's another matter. There were entire scenes in which Janet Hodgson and her family discussed her menstruation that were gratuitous and unrealistic; they hinted at sexualization. The underage characters swore several times and in one scene we were shown Janet, an eleven-year old girl, using the toilet; is that kind of thing really necessary? What point are they trying to make here? It's all extremely distasteful and frankly sinister; it reeks badly of Common Purpose. I'd have respected the producers if they'd made even a minor effort to resist it, but they didn't. The one bright spark was the casting of the veteran actor Timothy Spall, best known for his outstanding performances in Wind in the Willows, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and The Sheltering Sky. His portrayal of the demure and troubled psychic investigator Maurice Grosse was excellent. The interaction between him and his colleague Guy Lyon Playfair was passable, In the story Playfair is manifestly based on Gilderoy Lockheart from Harry Potter. I feel churlish about my criticism in a way because I really wanted to like this programme. It is faithfully told from the point of view of the family and the viewer is left in no doubt that the poltergeist is real. It might improve in Parts Two and Three. Source: http://features.sky.com/enfield-haunting/.

Before the programme even hit the air, a prelude was published in The Guardian, in the form of an article by Deborah Hyde, the editor-in-chief of Skeptic magazine and known online as the blogger "Jourdemayne", often described as a "Skeptic witch", see: http://www.jourdemayne.com/. I've encountered her myself several times, for example see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/consciousness-beyond-individual.html. Unlike me she rather enjoyed The Enfield Haunting. She also differs with the suggestion that the paranormal is ignored by mainstream science and gives examples, including some of those that I discuss in the background links below. As you can see in those links I totally disagree and I explain why. She's right about the phenomenon not being repeated under controlled circumstances, ie in a laboratory, but this is unfortunately inherent in the nature of the subject. Spectral entities are not usually obliging enough to turn up for appointments at scientific institutions; I think paranormal investigators do the best they can under the inescapable circumstances of their trade. As you can see from my HPANWO Radio interview with Don Philips and Steve Mera, link below, methods have been designed over almost two centuries of psychical research to channel the subject into a form where it can be examined effectively in the field. Parapsychologists do control for the critiques made by Skeptics, as Don and Steve explain. For instance Don knows how to eliminate electromagnetic interference from his EVP recordings by making them in a Faraday cage and even underwater. Don plans to record one while scuba diving! Skeppers like Ms Hyde appear to be oblivious to the real practices of parapsychology, or she seriously underestimates them. She provides examples of people who have been fooled by hoaxes; she gives the case in point of the Cottingley Fairies, which was also perpetrated by a pair of young girls, just like the Fox sisters were too. Leaving aside the distinct possibility that the Fox sisters' confession may well have been false, see: http://hpanwo.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/paranormality-by-prof-richard-wiseman.html, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 1920 study of the Cottingley Fairies hardly compares to an investigation using modern electronic detectors; Maurice Grosse himself was a computer engineer. Ms Hyde suffers from sleep paralysis, like I do, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/sleep-paralysis-and-shadow-people.html, and puts some of the experiences Janet suffered down to that. She might be right in a few of the individual occurrences if judging them separately, but viewed holistically with the entire phenomenon that explanation does not fit. The Hodgson family had recently experienced upheaval after the acrimonious breakdown of the father and mother's marriage; the mother was bringing up all four children on her own. Poltergeist activity is often focused on people with emotional problems, particularly girls in early adolescence, but Ms Hyde's suggestion is that the entire Enfield poltergeist case might simply be a hoax played by two upset youngsters, and for that same reason. Grosse and Playfair were kind and attentive towards their young charges; perhaps they alleviated Janet and Margaret's yearning for their absent father. Maurice Grosse had also been recently bereaved of his own teenage daughter, also named Janet, in a motorcycle accident and therefore possibly developed his own transference problem with the girls.
Armchair psychological supposition is very fashionable nowadays, and it's all very well, except that it deviates the narrative from the underlying point which is whether the evidence for real paranormal activity is there or not. If the evidence is there then these fantasy Freuds will have to take a back seat. Like Deborah Hyde I was not there at the time. We only have Playfair and Grosse's study to go on; the books they write for example. In the article Ms Hyde insinuates that Guy Playfair, one of the original psychical investigators of the Enfield case, appeared on the This Morning TV show in 2012 because he was motivated by a desire to market his new book about the poltergeist; I wonder if she would have made that same observation if a Skeptic like Prof. Richard Wiseman wrote one on the matter. If the investigators don't write those books we have no easy access to the information. I'm sure Ms Hyde does not object if we read all possible information available and make up our own minds; I'd never try and dissuade anybody from reading her Skeptic magazine, indeed I occasionally pick up a copy myself. However she then has to respect the rights of people to put their own side of the story into print. Another thing that really troubled me was that Ms Hyde quotes somebody at the time: "...Several psychiatrists and health professionals thought that the whole thing would stop if Grosse and Playfair just left the situation alone..." She doesn't name these people. However what is being suggested here is that the investigation of the supposed poltergeist was a child welfare issue; for whoever originally said that, it is bordering on slander. I would say to them, whoever they might be, dispute the evidence for the reality of the poltergeist before resorting to defamatory slurs. So make your own mind up, dear HPANWO-reader, but if you decide that there's nothing to the case except fakery and delusion then go ahead and think that; but if you do so try to concentrate on the lack of evidence thereof rather than the personal flaws of the people involved.

Mystery Object found inside LHC

It has been reported that an unknown object has been found inside the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The so-called "Unidentified Lying Object" was detected inside the sealed vacuum pipe in the heart of the giant seventeen mile-circumference particle accelerator. The announcement was made very nonchalantly by the CERN physicist Prof. Albert de Roeck; a report on a lecture he gave on Phys.org states: "...De Roeck in fact has high expectations for the possibility of new discoveries that could change the current accepted theory of physical reality, the Standard Model. 'It will take only one significant deviation in the data to change everything,' De Roeck said. 'The upgraded machine works. Now we have to get to the real operation for physics.'... But work remains to be done. One issue the accelerator physicists remain cautiously aware of, he said, is an 'Unidentified Lying Object' in the beam pipe of the LHC's seventeen mile underground tunnel, a vacuum tube where proton beams collide and scatter particles that scientists then analyze for keys to unlock the mysteries of the Big Bang and the cosmos. Because the proton beam is sensitive to the geometry of the environment and can be easily blocked, the beam pipe must be free of even the tiniest amount of debris. Even something as large as a nitrogen atom could disrupt the beam. Because the beam pipe is a sealed vacuum it's impossible to know what the 'object' is. 'The Unidentified Lying Object turns out not to be a problem for the operation, it's just something to keep an eye on,' De Roeck said. 'It's in the vacuum tube and it's not a problem if it doesn't move and remains stable'." The questions I'd like to ask Prof. de Roeck are endless. How did something manage to access the interior of the sealed chamber where the particle beams flow? It is the most tightly controlled environment on earth; it's hardly like getting a grain of sand in your camera on Bournemouth beach. Why is it not a big deal to you? Something like this should be physically impossible. Forget the standard model! This phenomenon alone should make every physicist in the world sit up and think again. How big is this "ULO"? If you can't see it, perhaps you should equalize the tube and open it up to look at the anomaly. Aren't you curious or worried by this?

This situation is not without precedent. Objects have turned up before in places where they really shouldn't be; in some cases they're even where it's physically impossible for them to be. The husband-and-wife paranormal investigation team Janet and Colin Bord have collected reports of these incidents. They include a butterfly trapped inside a riveted gas meter, a bird found inside a car tyre and many many more in their book, (This is now out of print but there are many cheap second hand copies available) see: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Modern-Mysteries-Britain-Janet-Bord/dp/0586065296. I suspect that this phenomenon might be connected to the cases of strange objects falling from the sky, see: http://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/out-of-blue.html. If something appears inside a completely closed-off container then there is only one way for it to have entered that location, it must have arrived there through a higher spatial dimension. This is now a serious scientific subject and, as I explain below in the background links, the activity of the LHC might directly be related to higher dimensional transport. In other words the LHC's high energy extreme collision operations might have literally ripped a hole in spacetime allowing something from "out there" to get into our universe. Yes, this is a very hazardous and irresponsible thing to do, as I detail in the background articles; and perhaps they're doing it deliberately. In this case the "Unidentified Lying Object" might end up being the first confirmed piece of matter ever found that has come from another universe. It's a kind of apport or what the Tibetan mystics call a tulpa. This would indicate that the LHC is having the very interdimensional effects that I and many others have long predicted. This is an extremely alarming situation. What else can it conjure out of thin air? In the background links I analyze Stephen King's The Mist as a possible warning. Again, at a higher level, one that Prof. de Roeck is not privy to, this is deliberate. As Kev Baker the "Glasgow Truther" also brings up in his radio show, see link above, we might also be dealing with an object currently in quantum superposition. Like Schroedinger's cat, it will remain that way until somebody looks at it. So maybe it's just as well that the "ULO" is stuck inside the dark cold interior of the LHC vacuum torus where it can remain invisible... but for how much longer. May this story end happily; I'm not sure how it will yet.

New Royal Baby

"Her Royal Highness" Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has given birth to a baby girl.  She was delivered at 8.34 AM British Summer Time and she weighed in at 8 lb and 3 oz. Mother and child are doing well. A traditional town crier has made the announcement from the maternity hospital's steps, see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-32563245. As far as I know nobody has been sacrificed this time, see: http://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/death-of-nurse-jacintha-saldanha.html. The bookmakers are taking bets on what the name will be. Alice and Charlotte are favourites, but my money is on Victoria; it's a statement that the Hapsburg Illuminati bloodline are still in charge. What now for Kate? Kate is often described as the most envied woman in the world. She is one of a record number of young women who applied to enrol at St Andrews University when it was announced that William was a new student there; every one of them left with a green and tearful face except Kate. It's ironic because right now Kate herself is probably secretly envying every single one of them. She has now done her duty for the House of Windsor by being what her late mother-in-law called a "brood mare". Will Kate also suffer an "accident" while driving through a tunnel in Paris? (I see that the satirists have not missed this trick, see: http://news.bfnn.co.uk/kate-middleton-gives-birth-to-black-baby/. At least James Hewitt is white so Harry's secret is safer! Seriously though, what kind of future does he have? See: http://hpanwo.blogspot.co.uk/2008/03/prince-harry-in-afghanistan.html.) Republicans have made their feelings felt in no uncertain terms, see: https://republic.org.uk/what-we-do/news-and-updates/media-need-get-grip-over-royal-baby; and they've got some good points. As celebrations begin for the Royal birth three and a half million children live in poverty in Britain; and Nepal has not had any charitable funding from the international community after its terrible earthquake the other day. Babies not much older than "Baby Cambridge Junior" are still being pulled from the rubble and have had not a penny spent on them for medical care; how can that be justified? However Republic still doesn't get the bigger picture. Elected heads of state are connected to the same bloodlines as the aristocracy, see: http://hpanwo.blogspot.co.uk/2007/08/my-book-review-who-are-illuminati.html.
See here for a report on the birth of the "Baby Cambridge Junior's" older brother Prince George: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/the-new-prince-george.html.

GMO Labelling made Law

A court in Vermont USA made a landmark ruling that means all food products sold in the state must declare on their label if they contain genetically modified organisms. This is a welcome development and will hopefully open the floodgates to a legal precedent; I hope to see more cases like it soon. This means that Vermont joins that gallant brigade which include the European Union, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Russia (of course!), China, India and hopefully soon Israel that require GMO food to be labelled as such. The United States of America is currently the front line in the battle between natural food and industrial GMO's, although the US Federal Government has not stepped in yet. The drive to label food which contains GMO's has been bitterly opposed by Monsanto, DuPont, Syngenta and the rest of the agro-bio-chemical industry. They claim that their products have been tested and found to be safe therefore labelling them would be misleading and alarmist for the public. However, a look at the background links below calls that into question I'd say. This is a serious matter because there are moves afoot to go one step further and even outlaw voluntary independent labelling by retailers and manufacturers, see: http://www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2015/04/27/food-industry-tries-to-block-vermonts-gmo-labeling-law. The real reason Monsanto et al want to stop GMO food being labelled is because they know damn well that it would rot on the shelves! Consumer surveys show again and again that people are aware of GMO food and don't want it. This means Monsanto has to trick us into eating it. I'm glad about this news from Vermont, but I'm not complacent. The GMO agenda will not give up that easily; they have other tricks up their sleeve. One of those is to contaminate farms beyond those it actively plants so that it becomes harder and harder to find food that does not contain some of its toxins, see background links below. Already the US organic food regulators have found trace amounts of GMO in organic produce. We in Britain are lucky enough to have the Soil Association, a very conservative and stringent authority that insists on a ceiling of less than 0.1% contamination, yet in the United States food can be advertised as organic with up to 3% contamination; this is a concession they have made effectively to save their industry because of the effect of GMO contagion. So we must keep up the pressure and take action in our own lives; all grocery customers must insist on top quality natural food; if your retailer won't provide it, go somewhere else. Ideally grow your own if you can. And keep spreading the word. We have public opinion on our side, all people need is the right information.

The End of Parapsychology?

According to a leading academic expert in paranormal research, the age of ghost hunting is drawing to a close. Dr Caroline Watt works as a paranormal investigator at the Arthur Koestler Parapsychology Unit at Edinburgh University. She has recently done an interview with New Scientist in which she predicts that academic parapsychology will simply be absorbed into existing psychology and neuroscience; perhaps something like Prof. Chris French’s “anomalistic psychology”, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/rob-brotherton-and-psychology-of.html. She says that all spooky experiences, from ghosts to precognitive dreams to ESP, will soon all be explicable within the parameters of conventional science. She states that none of her team have ever found any evidence for any of the subjects they have investigated and perhaps it’s now time to call it a day. I have not read Dr Watt’s original interview, but this is a commentary of it, see: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/science-ghost-hunting-parapsychology-will-eventually-disappear-1498709. If it is an accurate commentary, it strikes me as intellectually lazy on her part. Dr Watt is not really saying anything original; this premise has been the basis of Skeptic anti-supernatural  science for decades. It’s the same line Prof. Richard Wiseman lays out in his book Paranormality, see: http://hpanwo.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/paranormality-by-prof-richard-wiseman.html. It’s also very simplistic. It’s “all in your head!” Her studies of supposedly haunted places like Hampton Court and the Edinburgh Vaults have revealed that these locations create strange experiences due to non-supernatural factors; she said: “We built a map of the ghostly hotspots and then we took physical measurements, such as the light level, draughts, temperature, humidity and so on; and tried to find if there were any physical factors that might be leading people to have strange experiences. We found that aspects of the physical environment were associated with people's spooky experiences.” I’m guessing she also means things like magnetic fields, infrasonic vibrations and other phenomena that can effect brain function. However this doesn’t explain the recent BBC programme filmed in the Edinburgh Vaults that picked up distinct electronic voice phenomena- EVP, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExS6GBgCfX8. As regular HPANWO-readers will know, I take a healthy interest in all things that go bump in the night, see background links below, and I have to question why it is that institutions like the Koestler Unit are not achieving the same results that their non-academic counterparts are. Amateur ghost-hunters and media personalities involved in psychical research do the same studies, sometimes very professionally and scientifically, and gather a massive amount of positive data. In the background links below is a HPANWO Radio interview with Don Philips and Steve Mera who are producing a new mainstream TV show about a proper scientific investigation into spectral phenomena. One of the two sides has made a big mistake. The conventional gut reaction is to assume that it’s not the academic experts who have erred; after all, they are the ones who sit in the seat of knowledge, whose job it is to know as much as possible about the subject, isn’t it? I would say no. I’ve discovered that there are distinct cultural and political reasons why a university institution might deny a reality of this kind even if it is very obviously true, see: http://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/helen-duncan-wartime-psychic-jailed.html and: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/proof-of-life-after-death.html. This would mean that being institutionalized at a university or laboratory acts as a burden, not an empowerment. Therefore independent investigators are essentially operating in a state of comparative liberation. It’s unfair and arrogant to dismiss non-academic researchers, as some have tried to do, because they don’t have an academic qualification in the subject, after all nobody ever questions James Randi’s lack of formal education; this is because he delivers the culturally and politically correct message. These highbrow scholarly types also seem to have a vested interest in keeping their opponents quiet, see: http://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/down-with-skeptocracy.html. I have no problem with people like Dr Watt saying whatever she likes; I even read books by people like her and attend Skeptic events and conferences. Therefore I suspect that, based on its commentary post above, the New Scientist interview in question gives a misleading and confusing view of the subject of ghosts, ESP and precognitive dreams etc. I recommend that everybody who reads it also goes off and investigates more diverse sources. There they will see a very different story.
