By the Way, We're Rejoining...

 

Of course we are! Back in June we passed the tenth anniversary of the historic earth-shattering referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union. The establishment was opposed to it from the start. They threw every obstacle they could in the way of our freedom from the superstate. It was not until January 2021 that we actually left. Since then the government have behaved as if we were a defacto EU member state anyway; grovelling to the ECHR, allowing French fishermen to plunder our territorial waters etc. Then, finally, there was the punishment; the C****19 p**demic and the migrant crisis, among other things. It is therefore no surprise at all that our new fearful non-leader Andy Burnham has stated that our current relationship with Brussels is "just not good enough" and he has suggested a few "ideas" that could "remedy" that. He has not said specifically that he is planning to rejoin, but of course they never do. He is currently looking at "improving current arrangements", a new kind of customs union and improved trade deals. This is always how it starts, with hints and innuendo, always portrayed as something that simply emerges unintentionally out of the political situation, independent of any long-term strategy. What will happen then is that in a couple of years Britain's return to EU servitude will be presented as an inevitable outcome of the reassessment process that is natural and beyond the control of anybody in Westminster. Our new membership will be different to the last one. The Council of Europe has specifically stated that this time there is to be no "halfway house". Polls indicate that the national opinion has shifted away from Brexit. Between 55 and 64% of the public would support a return to the EU. This is also not a shock to me, but it's not because of that oft repeated rigmarole of "Brexit just is not working!" It's because the Remoaner establishment has sabotaged Brexit on purpose. We are going to go through some dark times. The Burnhamistas have a huge Parliamentary majority and three years to play with it. We just have to hold tight and ride it out. We must stick together and keep each other's spirits up. We must not give up. Never forget, as Mahatma Gandhi said: "There is a natural force in the universe that arcs towards justice."
