"Hold Your Nose and Vote Tory"

The British Conservatives are one of the most successful political parties in the entire world. I think the secret of their success is that although people who support them will vote for them, obviously; so do a lot of people who oppose them. The Tories live in this incredible bubble of luxury. They can mess up as much as they like, and then say: "You may hate us, but you still have to vote for us, 'cos if you don't Labour will get in!" This was even the very basis of David Davis' party political broadcast, see: https://x.com/DavidDavisMP/status/1806964495618592797. Peter Hitchens is one of the few black pillers I can tolerate because of his intelligence and charisma, but his position on voting is the same, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6MrtxOuCxs. The YouTube content creator The Britisher echoes him, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeQL6hMSzQQ. I'm disappointed. They are both normally more sensible. The fear these two men have of the Starmergeddon is quite understandable. When they get into power Labour are going to go hell bent for leather on every Big Brother, tax raising, wage-slashing, wokeist guilt-shaming, boat welcoming, man-hating, white people-hating, child-hating, EU rejoining measure they can think of... or they are going to try. Surely anything is better than that isn't it? Can't we just for once in our lives hold our nose and vote Conservative to prevent that, or at least to lessen its severity? No way! The Tories have lived on this fantasy island for far too long. Their chickens have come home to roost and I'm getting the popcorn in Thursday to watch them squirm! I don't want the Starmergeddon either, in fact it terrifies me. My life and that of millions of others will become far worse if Labour have their way, but will they? I have not lost hope that something will come out of left field. That has happened to the establishment with everything else they have tried since 2016. Has the 2016 Effect really just faded away? Surely not. I'm not going to fall for Hitchens' own Project Fear. If he has his way, then what? Do we just keep bumping along the bottom of the Uniparty abyss forever? If now is not the time, when is it, Peter? What's your plan?

At this juncture most people would continue with "Vote Reform UK!" I'm not going to do that; partly because in my case it is pointless. There is no Reform candidate in my constituency. "Well, join the party and stand yourself then, Ben." I hear you say. What, with my baggage? I'll be talking about UFO's at the hustings! What's more I have issues with Farage and Reform as I say in the background links below. However, I would say to you, if you have somebody from Reform standing in your constituency, voting for them is not a bad move. They are definitely the least phoney major political party in Britain. The establishment are clearly repulsed by them. They even hired an actor to pretend to be one of them and behave in an atrocious manner in collaboration with a "secret" cameraman in order to defame the party, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74KB-9nHoqs. I agree with what Peter Hitchens says about Keir Starmer and I know what threat he poses. I have no sure answer about how to avoid the Starmergeddon, but falling back into a safe corner to vote for a party that is only about two percent better is a weak and defeatist reaction, a futile policy of containment. For the sake of ourselves, our families, our country and our world the time has come to roll the dice. Out of the Silent Planet

I consider CS Lewis to be one of the most interesting thinkers of the 20th century. I've read an interesting biography of his, see: https://www.thegoodbook.co.uk/cs-lewis-a-life. As for his fiction, his Chronicles of Narnia series was a huge part of my life from childhood onwards. Therefore it has struck me as strange that I've never read Lewis' other famous fiction series, the Space trilogy, three science fiction novels he wrote before Narnia, between 1938 and 1945. I have now read the first of that trilogy, Out of the Silent Planet. It follows the unwilling adventures of a man called Elwin Ransom. He is kidnapped by two scientists and forced onto a spaceship to join them on a mission to Mars; an interesting beginning considering his name. When Lewis wrote this book, very little was known about our neighbouring planets. It was only when unmanned spacecraft started exploring Mars, most recently the Perseverance rover, that we found out what the planet was really like. Lewis imagines it as a lush living planet with a breathable atmosphere. It is covered in plant and animal life which he describes in great detail. There are three intelligent species on Mars which form a symbiosis. There are the Hrossa, who are semi-aquatic creatures resembling otters who use simple tools and live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle; yet they are very artistic and poetic. There are the Sorn who are tall land animals slightly humanoid who are great practical philosophers and scientists. Finally the frog-like Pfifltriggi which are strong, tenacious and reliable, they do most of the manual work like mining and stone sculpture. None of the three species alone, or even two of them, could maintain their civilization. They all understand that all three are necessary working together. They describe themselves collectively as Hnau. They call their home planet Malacandra and have languages which are described in some detail, not as much as those in the Tolkienverse, but still the reader learns a lexicon of several dozen words. Most interesting of all, there are beings called Eldila who are non-corporeal and invisible. They seem to be semi-supernatural and are akin to ghosts or angels. They communicate with the Hnau, and also humans, telepathically. There is a governing Eldil on Malacandra called Oyarsa whom the characters interact with on an island in the heart of a temple that is described as being like a European Neolithic monument; except the stones are covered in pictures carved by the Pfifltriggi. All three human characters are interrogated by Oyarsa in a dialogue that reminds me of the human characters' discussions with the lion Aslan in the Narnia series. The two other humans represent different attitudes. Dr Weston is a ruthless expansionist who wants humans to conquer the solar system and then the galaxy beyond, terraforming every planet and plundering its resources; and then simply moving on. Ransom's other companion, Dick Devine, is greedy and only interested in gold, like the American Conquistadors. By that time Ransom has spent many months living with the native species of the planet and has "gone native". He even finds the appearance of the other humans alien when they are reunited. He recommends that all humans be prevented from visiting Mars, even if it means killing him and his companions. Weston and Devine are permanently exiled from Malacandra and Ransom leaves with them voluntarily. This scene, and other themes of the story, reminds me of the film Avatar, see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2012/03/some-of-them-are-on-our-side.html.

The journey back to earth is far more difficult than the journey there because by then the two planets are at their greatest distance in their mutual orbits. The spaceship has to pass close to the sun and almost overheats. They also nearly run out of food, water and oxygen. At one point they have to divert to avoid crashing into the moon. Weston and Devine's spacecraft is described as being spherical in shape, like that depicted in HG Wells' The First Men in the Moon, a story Ransom refers to regularly. It works by some kind of unusual solar radiation, but the propulsion system and power source are never explained in detail. It doesn't appear to use "Carvorite", the antigravity effect that drives Wells' lunar module. It does appear to have internal artificial gravity though, which shifts in aspect when it interferes with a planet's gravitational field, creating a lot of inconvenience for the crew. At the end, there is an epilogue in which the author inserts himself into the story in a form of docu-fiction. He reveals that he knows Ransom and that the two have written letters to each other. The Martian creatures call earth Thulcandra, meaning "silent planet", hence the novel's title. This is because the earth has apparently been taken over by a "bent" Oyarsa, an evil spirit. This might be analogous to Satan. I have no doubt, knowing Lewis, that this story has deeper and more subtle features that I did not spot from an initial reading; this was certainly the case with Narnia. A few years before he wrote this book, CS Lewis underwent a transformation of his life that today is often called a "spiritual awakening". He had been a lifelong atheist since his childhood in Northern Ireland and began by promoting atheism when he went up to Oxford. However, after a few years he began attending his college chapel. Being a prolific writer and essayist, his feelings of being "born again" have all been preserved and are considered some of the most important literature of its kind on the subject. No doubt this influenced him when he wrote Out of the Silent Planet in ways I have yet fully to comprehend. I look forward to reading its two sequels.

New UFO Evidence

The pace of the UFOlogical news cycle is still quite quick. Just a couple of weeks after the fresh information that broke out at Contact in the Desert, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2024/06/ben-in-desert.html, a new revelation has emerged. This has happened at what some would say is a very convenient time to get bums on seats. The MUFON Symposium 2024 is starting in two weeks time and on the 18th they released a press statement promising a massive bombshell exclusive to the event. This will include results of lab tests on some unknown material related to UFO's that was found by an investigator in Russia. Some of this material was stolen from a postbox while being sent to MUFON. I must add that if you have something of that nature in your possession and you want to send it somewhere, you should always use a trusted security courier. Popping a parcel in the mail is asking for trouble. Some of it is still safe though... I hope! Ron James, the symposium organizer, will put it on display for conference attendees. Let's hope that doesn't also "get lost". Source: https://x.com/blackvaultcom/status/1803404158311211036. Shortly after that, the photo you see above also appeared on social media which is also going to be presented properly at MUFON and in Ron James' new film and a book. It was shown on the Vetted podcast when Ron held up a print of it in front of the camera. It appears to show a flying saucer on the ground in a forested area by a body of water. The object might be half submerged. Unfortunately the image itself is still not available and even the one Ron holds up is a copy. The whereabouts of the original is unknown. A reproduction was published before in a new book called Ominous by Wayne Sturgill. This was supposedly taken in 1955 after a UFO was shot down following a battle with USAF warplanes. There is another photo of the disk that has supposedly been shown privately to Michael Schratt. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vVytK0RnNU. Unfortunately there's not a lot I can say about that image right now, no matter how tantalizing it is. The original negatives and prints are lost. What's more, the details in the image are indistinct. Obviously if it is real it will have been taken secretly from a distance; a photographer in that situation would not be in a position to fiddle with the focus and exposure settings for too long. Naturally the skeptics got to work and quickly found some toy soldiers for sale that look a bit like the human figures in the picture. They therefore dismiss the photo as a sham, a miniature scene with models. It's not clear enough to be sure, but that might be the case. Sometimes even the skeptics are right. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm71rg9GzoY. We'll have to wait and see.

This period of synchronicity took itself up to another level when somebody claimed that the Nazca mummies are now apparently real aliens. This astonished me because I interviewed Steve Mera a couple of months ago and I thought this case was closed. I was convinced the objects were fakes made from human and animal bones, see: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2023/11/hpanwo-show-527-podcast-steve-mera.html. A Dr Richard O'Connor has come forward to dispute that. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x32g3hEKhDs. As soon as I saw him I thought he looked familiar, and he is. At Contact in the Desert I had a friendly but robust debate with him during the open mic session. I have no final answers to any of these puzzles so this is an interim report. I'll have to write some more when more information comes to light.

Assange is Home!

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2024/06/assange-freedom-livestream.html.
Following the almost unbelievable release from prison of Julian Assange, I'm pleased to say that the whistleblower and journalist has arrived back in his homeland of Australia. He has not set foot there for at least twelve years, having spent all that time in England, incarcerated at the embassy of Ecuador and then later at HMP Belmarsh. After landing on Saipan island he was taken straight to the courthouse where he confirmed his name. The hearing lasted until midday during which his legal situation was described to him in detail and he pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Espionage Act Section 793. He must have been assured by his lawyers that this would work and the hearing was only a formality because the celebrations began as soon as he left Belmarsh jail; but it must have been a relief to have it in black and white. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but that is more than he has already spent on remand so he was released immediately without bond. He then immediately returned to the airport and flew to Canberra, Australia where there was an emotional reunion with his family. There was later a press conference where his legal team spoke. Julian didn't; he wasn't able to emotionally, apparently, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XATYVc6upMY. It's understandable. He has not seen his wife, children or father outside a prison visiting room or in his flat at the embassy for so long; in the case of Stella and his children, ever. He has never taken his five and seven year old sons for a walk on the beach, or two the school sports day, or to a funfair. I do hope he and his loved ones can now rebuild their lives and that no other journalist will be punished in such a way. I don't judge Julian for doing this plea bargain with the government that has been hounding him. What would I have done in his situation?

Obviously I don't share the viewpoints of many others in the Conspirasphere that Julian Assange is a total psyop. The most extreme of these must be "Tupacabra" whom I discussed in the livestream last night. You'll be relieved to know I definitely don't think Julian is a clone! There are other more reasonable voices who still maintain suspicious minds when it comes to the Assange phenomenon. Thomas Sheridan, somebody I know well and like, has written a short article asking if Assange is the real Emanuel Goldstein. This refers to an unseen character in George Orwell's 1984 who fought in the revolution alongside Big Brother and then became a traitor. It is suggested throughout the novel that Goldstein is a political phantom, a fake person invented to focus the hatred of the people and therefore encourage their love of Big Brother. Thomas asks why Assange has not been eliminated by the state if he is their real enemy; after all, they have so many ways and means of killing people from a distance or up close. They had no problem with Alexander Litvinenko did they? A valid question. Maybe it's because the state no longer consists of antagonists unified behind a single purpose; the white hats might be powerful enough to protect Assange. Also possibly they didn't want the fallout from a possible "dead man's trigger". If Assange had died who knows what his supporters might have released. I wouldn't blame him for doing that in his position. Thomas' second point is to ask: what good has Wikileaks been? They've released a lot about bad things being done in wartime, but that's not surprising really. How about 9/11? The UFO's? And "fake lockdowns, human organ harvesting, politicians trafficking children, secret space programs... genetic experiments on everyone?" Another good point. Other researchers have uncovered such information; surely Wikileaks knows something about it too. Why have they not published anything? That could be because Thomas is right, but it might also be part of Julian's little insurance policy. If so then I hope now he is free his organization will say more. If it doesn't then it does beg the question. What kind of relationship do they have with the government they are supposedly trying to expose? Source: https://thomassheridan.substack.com/p/julian-assange-the-real-life-emmanuel. I address those questions in more detail in the background links below. The war against reporters goes on. Other people have been targeted for persecution, like Richard D Hall, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/06/rdh-in-court-appeal-rejected.html. If we are all talking nonsense and should just be laughed at, why don't they simply laugh at us and leave us alone? These actions against independent journalists are as good as a confession, in my view. Julian Assange was meant to be a warning to others, a slave crucified along the road to Rome like Spartacus. I only hope Julian's freedom will lead to more people in his position being left alone as well.

RDH in Court- Appeal Rejected

I'm sorry to report that Richard D Hall has had his appeal rejected in the latest court hearing. I was not able to attend court and support Richard this time. This judgement is not the trial itself, it is about establishing the rules of the upcoming trial. Richard will publish more documents, if he can, about what was actually said at the hearing. My own opinion, as I have said before, is that Richard should not be prevented from tabling his "skeleton argument", the detail of the defendant's evidence. What actually happened in Manchester on that fateful night is totally relevant because it relates to the general truthfulness of the claimants and also because it shows that what Richard did was in the public interest. But unfortunately it was not to be. The next step is the main trial which should last four days and is currently scheduled to begin on July the 22nd. I will hopefully be able to go along and support Richard. Please continue to send him as many donations for his legal fees as possible. Source: https://www.richplanet.net/legal.php.

Happy Referendum Day 2024!

I can hardly believe it is eight years since the British people made one of the bravest and most noble decisions we ever have, to be independent of the continental imperialist dictatorship. We spent the first three and a half years of those eight fighting our own government who wanted to "persuade us of the error of our ways!" Also we had to fight stuck-up, insulting, patronizing cunts (sorry, there's no other word for them) like Richard Dawkins. It feels that ever since Brexit day, the 31st of January 2020, things have very much been on hold. As I predicted, the remoaners would not give up. The "rejoin alliance" has indeed risen from the ashes of the petition signers. Under the governments of "post-Bill Gates" Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and especially Rishi Sunak we have been living in a "Brexit-in-name-only" situation. For example Sunak has obeyed several decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, which should be a bit like the New Zealand government obeying a ruling from the High Court of Fiji; so why isn't it? We now have a general election in eleven days which will almost certainly lead to a very bad situation for the next few years; which I will cover in a separate publication closer to the time. However, within the EU itself, it feels like the opposite is happening; something that should have begun on June the 24th 2026 has finally got going, eight years late. Anti-EU populists have finally started making political headway on the continent; in fact Brussels are tearing their hair now because their very project is in dire jeopardy, as the provinces revolt. This is very hopeful. In fact being in the UK is a bit like being left out of a really good party! Maybe this is because of our first-past-the-post electoral system. We on our island have a leftwing Blairite managerial regime while our neighbours are throwing those regimes out. Still, we'll see what happens before the next Referendum Day. I have a feeling something will "come out of left field" between now and then.

Conspiracy Theory and Culture

I returned to Conway Hall for another esoteric event, this time hosted by the London Fortean Society, a group I have always liked and I have been to many of their public meetings, for example: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2018/02/ian-ridpath-at-fortean-london.html and: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2020/01/a-skeptics-guide-to-aliens.html. Conway Hall was also the scene of one of the best one-day conferences ever, the British Humanist Association Conspiracy Theory Conference in which the late great Ian R Crane truly shone out, see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2011/09/british-humanist-association-conspiracy.html. This was a more modest affair in one of the smaller rooms; an afternoon of discussions about conspiracy theory. It was organized by Prof. Chris French and Deborah Hyde and was therefore very skeptical. There were four speakers, Jonn Elledge, James Ball, Brent Lee and Frenchie himself. Excuse me if I save myself some time and effort, but being an expert in skepticology and a connoisseur of the skeptispherical conference circuit, I heard very little information today that I have not heard before; therefore I will focus on the new information and provide you with background links for any material I have covered previously. Both Elledge and French were selling new books on the stall and they both have very provocative titles containing strong language. Jonn's is called: Conspiracy- A History of Bollocks Theories and How Not to Fall for Them... not really very equivocal in his views there is he? He ran through the history of conspiracy theory, with a bit of humour, as he says. The first historically recorded conspiracy theory was far more ancient than I thought, it was way back in 19 AD. The Roman Caesar Germanicus predicted his own assassination. This emperor, after whom the country Michael Shrimpton believes is behind the New World Order is named, was allegedly killed by a conspiracy led by someone called Gnaeus Calpurnius Piso, but the suspect committed suicide just before his trial, or did he? Interestingly this was exactly two thousand years before Jeffrey Epstein. In the early 19th century there was a conspiracy theory that cholera was spread deliberately by poison administered by (insert your chosen nominee for who causes all the world's evil here). Of course cholera is really caused by a toxic bacterium that grows in dirty water, as we later found out. The point being that history generally proves conspiracy theories to be false, but not always of course. Just try Googling: "conspiracy theories proven true". The issue of missing history is something I've not made my mind up about. The theory of "Tartaria" or the "mud flood" is very popular among flat earthers, of which I am not one; but I must admit there's something to it. This is even though its claim is utterly astonishing, that history literally before the mid 20th century is a sham. This video contains most of the best information, see: https://www.bitchute.com/video/M3EnybRMuGbR/. Another thing I found astonishing is that allegedly Bertrand Russell started questioning the official story of the Kennedy assassination shortly before his death in 1969. That surprised me. Russell is famous for being the ultimate atheo-skeptiko-materialist. Readers of HPANWO will know him best for being a massive MBAer, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2013/09/andrew-copson-mba.html. Maybe he fell off the wagon in his twilight years. See here for Jonn's blog: https://jonnelledge.wordpress.com.
James Ball is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who is best known for his work with WikiLeaks and Edward Snowden. Despite his awareness therefore that conspiracies and lies exist, he has written a new book which I unfortunately cannot name because Blogger has started imposing the same censorship as the rest of mainstream social media, but it concerns the subject I have nicknamed "P*R", see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2022/08/pr-portal.html. He takes a very dim view of belief in this matter. What really made me sit up was that he suspects that an intelligence service made an attempt to recruit him. He was groomed while he was at university, which is the usual method. He didn't say which agency it was and it's possible he does not know. "Talent scouts" don't usually go up to you and say: "Hey, buddy. Ever fancied a career in MI6?" No, it's far more subtle than that. I describe the process in fictional form here: https://hpanwo-bb.blogspot.com/2021/04/the-obscurati-chronicles-sample-fourth.html. See here for James' website: https://www.jamesrball.com. Chris French's new book is entitled: The Science of Weird Shit- Why Our Minds Conjure the Paranormal. It's strange how in the last few years it has become acceptable to swear in book titles. In fact the aforementioned James Ball has a book called Post-Truth- How Bullshit Conquered the World. Stephen Law also has a book out with the BS-word in the title. French brought up one thing I'd not heard of before. Apparently some skeptics decided to pull a Carlos hoax about Red Bull and tell the world that the slogan in the drink's advert: "Red Bull gives you wings!" originated from a laboratory experiment in which Red Bull was fed to rats and it made them literally grow vestigial wings on their bodies; and of course it was all covered up by (insert your chosen nominee for who causes all the world's evil here). Supposedly a large number of "buh-leevahz" repeated this falsehood without question. I don't think I'd have fallen for it, had I known. I wonder if Red Bull sued them. Somebody recently had to issue an apology for saying incorrectly that the drink contains bull's sperm. See here for Frenchie's profile at Goldsmiths: https://www.gold.ac.uk/psychology/staff/french/.
The most interesting speaker was Brent Lee. Brent is somebody I've been following online for some time, in fact I knew him vaguely over twenty years ago when he used to post on the old David Icke Forum. Brent was once a fully fledged woo-woo like me, but during the 20-teens he began to have doubts. In 2015 he dropped out of the online Truther world and by 2021 he decided to speak out about his experiences becoming an ex-conspiracy theorist. Brent became quite emotional as he spoke. He described his early life, experiencing his mother's two divorces and the domestic violence of his first step-father. Chris French didn't make this point in his speech today, but in the past he has related that a troubled childhood in which the parents harm their child, or fail to protect them from harm, can result in an increased tendency to believe in conspiracy theories. I must admit this includes me, as I have explained before, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2012/09/centaur.html and: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2023/10/am-i-gate-child.html. However, just because this psychological condition may well be real, it does not necessarily have any bearing on the factual nature, or otherwise, of what we believe. It was nice to meet Brent and we got on well. He has received a lot of aggravation from the online Conspirasphere which he does not deserve. I have defended him wherever I can. He has taken a path which he believes is right; while I have taken a different path. That does not make either of us "bad people!"; we are trying to be sincere about how we see the world; and we're both entitled to a bit of basic human compassion. People do not choose their beliefs. See here for the programme he presents with Neil Sanders: https://www.somedarecallitconspiracy.com and: https://www.tinfoilconfessions.com. I talk about Brent in more detail here: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2023/09/conspiracy-theory-deprogramming.html.

During the question and answer session at the end, a linguist spoke out against the conspiracy theory that Latin is a constructed language. It was allegedly invented by the Vatican in the Middle Ages. I had not heard of this one either, but I'm guessing it's related to the Tartaria theory. I have read in Mark Devlin's book about how English is a constructed language, see: https://djmarkdevlin.com. Ironically, since Mark wrote about this, serious scientists are now coming out with information that makes him right... well, half right. English is not constructed in the same way as the ones from JRR Tolkien's stories, but it was introduced to Britain as a second language adopted deliberately by Celtic-speaking people, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLpgVEfy4mQ. This event at Conway Hall had a friendly atmosphere, just like the 2011 BHA conference. Deborah asked at one point: "Is anybody here a believer in conspiracy theories?" and I raised my hand without hesitation. I felt no insecurity doing that because nobody there showed me any hostility. The only thing that disappointed me was that the cafe was cashless. Despite that I really enjoyed this day and I'm glad I went.

TCATC/TGATC Walking Tour

Following the success of the previous alternative Oxford walking tour, there will be another on Friday the 19th of July at 7 PM. It will be led by Mark Devlin and co-hosted by me and another local researcher, Tony Chinn. It will be based on Mark's allegorical novels The Cause and the Cure and The Gift and the Curse, see: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/49183214-the-cause-the-cure and: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/200645751-the-gift-the-curse. We will be visiting many of the locations featured in the stories. To join the tour, meet up with the group at 7 PM at Gloucester Green bus station outside the Oxo Bar. If the weather is too bad the event will be postponed with a full refund. Book tickets online here: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/61464?.

"I Faked the Miami Aliens!"

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/01/have-aliens-invaded-miami.html.
And: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/01/new-footage-of-miami-aliens.html.
In my skeptics talk I bring up something I call "the CTCS- conveniently told confession story". Even though debunkers demand constant and detailed explanations for every claim made supporting any woo-woo subject, when a claim is made that supports their own position they instantly and instinctively accept it as fact without a moments hesitation or investigation. They never even use the word "claim" when referring to a CTCS; they say instead that it was "revealed", "proved" or "admitted". The notion that a confession can be falsified never occurs to them; even if you show them actual examples. Source: https://youtu.be/HpDqus5lsqo?si=NCwrFgG3TGxPGHli&t=7393. It is not often you get to watch a CTCS manifesting in real-time. Anthony Po is somebody I'd never heard of before. He runs a YouTube channel about himself playing various practical jokes on people; and a couple of weeks ago he posted a fifteen minute video entitled I Faked An Alien Invasion In Florida. In it he delivers a presentation to a live audience of his fans, all two dozen of them, in which he claims responsibility for the Miami aliens story, in which reports of strange beings were seen in a shopping centre in Miami, USA on New Year's Day, see background links above. He says that all the witness reports on social media were his own sock puppet accounts. He then tries to pull off more hoaxes with the help of a guy called Travis and Laura Banks, a minor actress from the '80's who is trying to promote her autobiography. The follow up tricks are more elaborate involving fake aliens, men in black, UFO's and crash-retrievals. The pranksters then go on to arrange a street demonstration, a "protest for truth!", a comedic equivalent of this one, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuaLed7Jnu4. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5s9oZtvOoRE. These antics never made the news in a big way. That makes it very different to the Richard Branson's, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2022/12/bransons-ufo-hoax.html. I personally don't think Anthony had much of an influence on the incident in Miami and I'm not really annoyed at him. I think all he wanted to do was have a little bit of fun at the expense of social media users. What does annoy me is that the debunkers are now going to pick this up and run with it like a sprinter. They will swallow his Miami story hook, line and sinker. As I say in my skeptic talk, those who think themselves the most rational people in the world can be highly irrational.

Seven Tabby's Stars

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2016/04/mysterious-star-update.html.
At the time I wrote about the strange case of the star KIC8462852, I wondered if there were any others. The star was soon given the more memorable name of "Tabby's Star" after Dr Tabetha Boyajian, the scientist who discovered its anomalous properties; and it has shown itself to be one of the most unusual stars ever discovered. As Dr Boyajian said herself, there is no proof that the star is surrounded by a Dyson swarm or a Dyson sphere; but if it were, it would have that very attribute. Now it turns out KIC8462852 is no longer unique. Seven more like it have turned up. The seven stars are all within a thousand light-years of the earth which in cosmic terms makes them neighbours. They are all small M-types, known as "red dwarfs", which makes them smaller and dimmer than the sun. The anomalies were detected by analyzing the infrared emissions from the stars in question and detecting changes in the quality and quantity of their radiation. The same method is used to detect new planets. The astronomer Prof. Janna Levin has said: "I would say I'm very open-minded. I'm not losing sleep over the idea that we are observing an alien megastructure. I don't think that's what's happening in these scenarios, but we are in a new era in terms of our understanding of how prevalent planets are, and how planets are absolutely prolific in the universe," She is being cautious and guarded just like Dr Boyajian was. Despite her doubts, again we see the same stellar profile originally predicted by Freeman Dyson in 1960 when he came up with the idea of searching for aliens this way. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIWlHCHUWWA. I resent the jocular tone of this report. I know News Nation is better than most, but they do need to maintain their own standards. As it happens, the astronomers might have made a mistake. It could be that the seven stars are really what are known as "hot DOG's", hot dust-obscured galaxies. Hopefully further studies will confirm or deny this. Breakthrough Listen's examination of Tabby's Star showed no signals coming from it. Will they find the same with these seven new candidates?

The Road

Everybody has warned me not to watch this film. "The Road is the most depressing movie ever made!" they said. "It'll just get you down, Ben!" I originally decided to avoid it for that reason; there's already enough in this world to get me down without adding to it, but I changed my mind. I thought I'd give it a go and switch off if it got too melancholy, almost as a challenge. I was surprised; it is not depressing. If anything it is the opposite, inspiring and encouraging. This might not be obvious on the surface, if you look at the trailer or a synopsis. The two main characters are a nameless man and his son who are struggling to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland following some global catastrophe that is never explained. Despite this, my guess is that it is some kind of hyper-volcanic event. There are many hints confirming this; for example, there are lots of earthquakes. Also you never see the sun except in the flashback scenes. Even in the middle of the day the lighting is dull and the sky is heavily overcast; this indicates that the atmosphere is full of volcanic particulates. All the plants and trees are dying as a result of the loss of sunlight and the low temperatures. This has happened before in earth's past and has caused mass extinctions. The man's wife, the boy's mother, has committed suicide like most people. They are heading south, presumably to find warmer weather, carrying all their belongings in a shopping trolley. The situation has caused most people to descend into barbarism, resorting to cannibalism; and the man and the boy have to hide and flee in case they are hunted for food. Despite this, they cling on to their humanity, "holding the fire inside" as they call it. The boy in particular symbolizes that integrity and hope for the future. There are occasions in the story where the man, played by Viggo Mortensen, tries to act in a "dog-eat-dog, man!" way and the boy persuades him into being compassionate instead. For example, they meet an old blind and crippled man, played by Robert Duval, and the son convinces his father to take care of him for a while and give him some of their scarce food. The boy doesn't always succeed. In another scene they have all their belongings stolen, and when they catch the thief the man forces him to strip naked, ensuring his swift demise in the icy new climate. The film even ends almost happily. The Road is very anti-nihilistic. Even in the most appalling conditions, we don't have to behave like monsters. It is far less miserable than many other apocalyptic movies, like Threads which is a wallowing self-indulgent orgy of nihilism, see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2008/01/threads.html. By the end of the film I actually felt quite uplifted. This proves that stories can often have double meanings and even the darkest superficial scenario can be used to shine some light.

Reforming Reform

I recently stated that I had decided not to vote for Reform UK in the upcoming general election because of the shameful way they had betrayed their candidates in the recent local government elections, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/06/farage-is-back-again.html. However, just a few days later I watched an interview with Reform's deputy leader, Ben Habib, on Times Radio. The presenter spends the whole ten minute interview focused on a single issue, the "chequered past" of their election candidate for the Bexhill and Battle constituency, Ian Gribbin. It's the usual story; Mr Gribbin made some wrongthink comment at some time in the past in an irrelevant context and then stands for the party in the election, and the leadership are therefore "informed" about it, even though he apologized. Mr Habib does a good job of rejecting the suggestion that Gribbin should be deselected. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2FjBDgGBEo. What's more Nigel Farage has been in a similar interview and also declined to submit. I must say, it was rather cringeworthy to see Richard Tice standing beside his new leader, nodding along with such an innocent look on his face. Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjmmrwexv4ko. This is progress. It is obvious that since Nigel got back, the leadership of Reform have had a get together and decided quietly to reverse their previous policy of instinctively throwing anybody their enemies point to under the bus. I still believe they should apologize to all the previous outcasts and offer them their nominations back for all future elections. Hopefully that will be their next step. I might vote Reform after all.

Goblin Problem

A few years ago I reported on a strange outbreak of cases from southern Africa about mysterious creatures terrorizing communities, see the background links below. Now a new spate of "goblin" encounters has broken out in the same region; and they are remarkably similar in detail. Once again a police station is targeted. Mabed Ngulani, a councillor from Bulilima in Matabeleland, Zimbabwe, explained how policemen refused to enter their station because it is haunted by these creatures. Apparently the officers were followed home by succubi-like monsters which then climbed on the roofs of their houses and sexually assaulted them in their sleep. Fear of the goblins then spread throughout the local area. Source: https://cite.org.zw/police-officers-desert-station-citing-goblin-attacks/. This is apparently a regular thing and goes back a very long way in history. They call such a creature tokoloshe. There are ways and means of protecting yourself from a tokoloshe. You can get a sangoma, a medicine man, to cast a spell to banish them or you can take herbal substances that act as a repellent. One simple method is to sleep on a bed that is very high. It's quite normal to see beds in Zimbabwe that are five or six feet off the ground, resembling a bunk-bed without a lower bunk. It's easy to laugh at such antics and dismiss them as a childish superstition believed in by a primitive culture; however, there are a lot of similarities between tokoloshe encounters and those reported by white westerners experiencing sleep paralysis. This is something I get myself quite often, once a fortnight or so. I've had it my whole life so it doesn't bother me. I just wake up unable to move my body, apart from my eyes. I just wait and after a few minutes it wears off and I wake up properly. Occasionally, only about five or six times, I've seen strange things in the bedroom with me. See: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2015/03/sleep-paralysis-and-shadow-people.html and: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2016/06/sleep-paralysis-again.html. I'm lucky; some people see these entities every night and often they are far more aggressive. They are surprisingly similar in appearance and behaviour to the tokoloshe. How come people of such different racial, geographic and cultural backgrounds see the same things? There are only two possibilities. Either every single human brain is hardwired to produce certain images and experiences under certain states of consciousness, and that requires a lot of explanation; or what we are seeing is objectively real. Which is more likely?

William Anders Dies

The Apollo 8 astronaut and former diplomat William Anders has died. This is sad and his loved ones have my deepest condolences. The manner of his demise has an almost Hollywood like romanticism. He was flying a Beechcraft T34 Mentor, a 1950's vintage military training aircraft. He flew low over Puget Sound in Washington USA when the plane was seen to attempt some kind of aerobatic and then dropped nose first into the water. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcCftcjQ0EU. Mr Anders' body was recovered. It has not been stated whether the remains of the aircraft was. It is likely it sank; in which case, can it be salvaged from the seabed? This will be essential for any coroner's enquiry to established why he died. He was ninety years old and maybe that's too old to fly solo. However, he was a perfectly qualified pilot with over eight thousand hours experience including active interception missions with the US Air Force. He broke no current FAA flying regulations. He was the US ambassador to Norway from 1976 to '77; but he is most famous for being one of the three astronauts aboard Apollo 8, the first manned spacecraft to leave earth orbit and fly to the moon. This mission had no lunar module and it was seven months later that the first landing on the moon took place with Neil Armstrong and Apollo 11. However, Apollo 8 was famous for being the first ever manned mission to the moon... supposedly. Mr Anders was most famous for taking some unique photographs including some of the first ever of the earth from deep space. One is called "Earthrise" and is particularly powerful, showing our home planet above the lunar horizon. I can't help but ask, had he said something to somebody? I hope the rest of his family are safe. If any "accidents" happen to them too, we must shout it loud.

Farage is Back... Again!

Whether you love or hate him, nobody can say Nigel Farage ceases to surprise. He is one of the most capricious, and dare I say inconsistent, politicians Britain has ever had. He began his career as a hero for Brexiteers, long before the word had ever been coined. He then caused a split in his original party, UKIP, and founded the Brexit Party. This is technically a company owned primarily by Farage, but the electoral commission did accept it as a political party so it could run in elections. In 2021 it changed its name to Reform UK, a silly name in my opinion. Shortly after this, but not as a result, Nigel announced his second retirement from politics his first being the day after the 2016 Brexit referendum victory. Richard Tice took over as leader and became most notorious for sacking a number of candidates because Hate Not Hope ordered him to, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/05/gb-news-vs-ofcom.html. Now, as we approach the eighth anniversary of Referendum Day, on the third of June, Nigel announced his return to the throne of Reform UK. What was really bizarre was that just a few weeks earlier he had revealed plans to abandon Britain altogether and travel to America to campaign for Donald Trump in this year's US presidential election. He admitted this was a mistake, which is admirable; it's far more than most politicians do. His reason for changing his mind is that he has seen "a rejection of the political class" in this country and he wanted to be a part of that revolt. He said the surge in Reform's popularity was "a new phenomenon" and he is encouraged by opinion polls on the continent ahead of the upcoming European Parliamentary elections for hard right populists like himself. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdnzlDZ12pk.

Will I vote for Reform? Well if you look through their manifesto, see: https://www.reformparty.uk/our-contract-contents, I agree with almost all of it. I don't think we should abolish the House of Lords, but I am very keen that we should scrap HS2, stop NHS privatization and leave the ECHR, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2023/10/hs2-north-scrapped.html. However, will Nigel Farage reinstate the candidates unfairly dismissed by Richard Tice? Will he apologize to them? A friend of mine and former UKIP activist, Daniel Bostock, has stated that he feels Farage betrayed the UKIP members in a similar way to Tice, see: https://www.bitchute.com/video/HZLaKdIzE6Q/. Is Reform nothing but controlled opposition? Possibly. I am suspicious of how Farage seems to be tolerated far more by the establishment than other populists like Jeremy Corbyn and Donald Trump. The answer is no, I will not be voting Reform UK. If I vote at all in this upcoming election it will be for another small party or an independent. If the IOA stand a parliamentary candidate I might support them again, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/05/i-backed-winner.html. Nigel is standing in the Clacton constituency. He has replaced the previous candidate from his own party, Anthony Mack; who is now challenging Farage as an independent. Nigel has never been elected before; some define him as the most influential statesman who has never sat in office. It is likely this safe Tory seat will flip purple. We will see. As far as the election goes generally, I don't think I will cover it in any detail; it will simply be too boring! Labour is going to win, but their victory will be very pyrrhic and anticlimactic. The electorate are not backing Keir Starmer because they are captivated by his dream for a better Britain. No, they probably regard him as a corrupt slimy greasy haired knob just like I do. Labour will win by the default of apathy. The turnout is going to be a record low and most of the voters who backed Boris in 2019 will just stay at home or vote Reform. Maybe the despair of the outcome will be a lesson for us all. Democracy is one of the biggest buzz-words in the English language; it is loaded down like no other with emotional and cultural baggage. Wars have been fought over democracy which have cost the lives of millions. Some people will start weeping at the very mention of the word. The quest for democracy has produced some of the most dramatic tales in history. Yet most democratic countries, even very old democracies, are suffering from a terrible malaise. Democratic governments have a catastrophic credibility problem in their relationship with their citizens; some political leaders even have approval ratings in single figures. Citizens now usually vote for negative reasons instead of positive; meaning they'll vote for somebody they don't like in order to keep somebody they like even less out of office, rather than to try and elect somebody they do like. Democratic countries today are ruled by some of the most loathsome people imaginable; cruel, cowardly, weak, gutless, heartless, stupid, selfish and deceitful. Despite the fact that nominally we can "choose our leaders", these kinds of people always rise to the top and nobody seems to know why, let alone how to stop them. This malaise is growing. I can only hope that the obvious perception of the problem will finally generate a solution.

Would the Real Kevin Russell Please Stand Up?

Dr David Clarke has returned to the Calvine UFO case in his latest Substack essay. There have been a few developments and he continues to maintain a comparatively rational stance. I'm pleased to say he still rejects the absurd clown's day off dismissals I mention in the background links below. A man called Richard Grieve has come forward to tell Philip Mantle he worked at the hotel in Pitlochry in 1990 and so knew the two photographers. It is interesting that he did so before Dr Clarke's August 2022 story was published and until then a link between the hotel and the photographers was not widely known. The problem is, "Kevin Russell" remains illusive. I'm starting to wonder if that was ever his real name. Even when he was handing over a print of the photo privately to an RAF officer he may have decided to sign the back with a pseudonym, anticipating trouble. Maybe the real photographer is Richard Grieve and he told Mantle his story as an active decoy because he feels nervous that this old story has been dug up. Craig Lindsay can't remember the names of the witnesses and Mr Grieve says neither was called Kevin. A friend on Facebook has just suggested that the two chefs may have been threatened or paid off. Quite possibly; we know they received unwanted visits from government agents. David has worked closely with a photographic analyst called Andrew Robinson who demonstrates that the original crude photocopy was of the real print. Unfortunately Clarke then falls back down the skeptic rabbit hole when he tries to link the object in the photograph to the F117 Nighthawk, which had only been declassified three years earlier. He also suspects that it might be the experimental prototype codenamed "Hopeless Diamond". He demonstrates this in true skepper fashion by putting the two images together and saying the designs "clearly resemble the craft photographed in Scotland" when they very obviously don't. A toddler with a shape-sorter could see that. What's more, his latest news article repeats the witness' testimony: "Then the diamond craft shot vertically into the sky and disappeared without making a sound." For Clarke to be right, this part of the story needs to be apocryphal. It might well be, of course; but simply to assume so is a bit too convenient. It allows Clarke to repeat his rather narrow-minded "there are only two possibilities..." statement. Source: https://drclarke.substack.com/p/calvine-ufo-revisited. (Mail Online is now behind a paywall... is that a good or bad thing?... However, if you want to read Dr Clarke's newspaper article a friend has photographed the paper edition in good quality so it is legible when you magnify it. I have the image so leave your email in the comments if you want me to send it to you.) I've explained before how supposedly revealing UFO's to be secret aircraft might actually be an elaborate double-bluff, for example: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2020/06/bob-lazar-on-richplanet-virtual-tour.html and: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2023/08/the-aviary-film-review.html. Despite this, it is now very fashionable to believe the opposite. I don't know specifically if Dr Clarke does so, but he appears to be entertaining the idea. If he falls for that trick he will not find his way to the truth about the Calvine UFO.

Big Spammer is Watching You 2- Visit Pakistan

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2013/07/big-spammer-is-watching-you.html.
It has happened again! This time it was really weird. I watched a twenty minute video about a luxury coach in Pakistan. The film shows it being cleaned and maintained. This is followed by some scenes showing more conventional long-distance public road transport from that same country being driven and built. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtyKqyPvEE4. I watched the entire video at normal speed and then went to check my emails... and I gasped! I had just received two emails with the subject line: "Visit Pakistan"; one was from a website called travelup.com advertising the best value plane flights and hotels for a holiday in Pakistan. The second was from the Pakistani National Tourism Coordination Board, see: https://tourism.gov.pk. Both emails arrived while I was watching that YouTube upload. How is this possible? Coincidence? I'm sure your average skeppa would say so, see: https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2021/08/skeptics-portal.html. I know that in this situation there is nothing inherently malevolent involved in my online activities being traced and scrutinized in this way; it's simply a standard marketing practice that targets me with specific promotional material because some AI has decided that me watching that video means I might be planning a trip to Pakistan. I'm not, as it happens. Despite that, the same technology and methods could be used by the government to profile me and that information could be used to my detriment in numerous different ways. That worries me.

David Grusch One Year On

See here for essential background: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2023/06/david-grusch-mini-portal.html.
It is now an entire year to the day since David Grusch first hit the media with his astonishing claims that the US government is hiding the secret that intelligent non-human life in interacting with planet earth and its inhabitants. Now, a year later, where do we stand? Much of the last twelve months have seen something of an "empire strikes back" situation. The NDAA has reached the statue books without the "Schumer amendment"; and despite continuing efforts by congressmen, lawyers, reporters and members of the public, there has been a successful backlash. We should not be surprised. Did anybody seriously think this could not happen? Did anybody pretend there were no reactionaries inside the programme who would not try to resist the post-2017 developments? As far as I'm concerned this is tantamount to a confession. If what we have been saying was some terrible folly, which is what the skeptics insist, then why all this effort to halt the transparency process? Why not just smirk in Congress during the bill's reading and laugh about it in the bar afterwards? Why not just leave it in peace to gather dust like so many other bits of useless legislation? That's the good news; the gatekeepers are operating without cover, which in the long term will be fatal for them. David Grusch has been constantly criticized for failing to provide hard evidence of his claims, but this criticism is made by people with no patience and a lack of understanding. As Ross Coulthart points out with typical Australian bluntness, the Disclosure process is not some kind of entertainment provided for the sake of UFO Twitter, it is a serious matter that must be handled with care and composure. We social media pundits are not always entitled to be told every single thing that's going on as and when it happens. David Grusch cannot work miracles, so stop demanding that he does. Here's a prime example: https://x.com/MiddleOfMayhem/status/1798379619764388022. Grow up and get over yourself, Greenstreet! (And find a new hairdresser for goodness sake!) In fact, generally, many UFOlogists get castigated for trying to work within the inevitable limitations of the subject; whose essential nature means that usually all that does come out from behind the veil of secrecy is the insiders' memories. Remember, despite the entire frantic mobilization of the Truth Embargo's political and media machine, we are still moving forward. Congressman Robert Garcia has just introduced a new bill to replace the Schumer amendment and Karl Nell has made more very positive comments about UFO's, see: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2024/05/third-rail-radio-programme-177.html. It's better to be an optimist than a pessimist. If you're an optimist you can be proved wrong and, sure, you feel disappointed; but if you're a pessimist and you are proven wrong you miss out on all the fun, you uninvite yourself from the party. David Grusch has shown himself to be genuine and committed. He has stuck by his guns and has been a hundred percent consistent. He has related his information publicly whenever he can. A time will come when he will truly be appreciated by everybody for his service to his country and the world.
