Ben Emlyn-Jones at the National New UFOlogy Conference

I will be speaking at the first National New UFOlogy Conference which will take place on the 22nd of July 2017, starting at 10 AM. The venue is Bentham Town Hall, Station Road, Bentham North Yorkshire/Lancashire (It stands exactly on the border) LA2-7LH. Tickets cost £15. Other speakers include: Frank Willis, Tony Topping, Cherry Arnold, Mike Oram and many more. My talk is going to be about "The Nottinghamshire Roswell". The Roswell Incident is not the only one of its kind; in fact events like it happen regularly all over the world. In the UK a strange occurrence took place in Nottinghamshire in November 1987. Could we be looking at the “Nottinghamshire Roswell”? See here for details: http://nnuconference.jimdo.com/. Also see here for a HPANWO Radio interview with the organizer Nigel Mortimer about the event: (Coming soon)

Return from the Dead

I don't often watch television, but on rare occasions a programme appears that is good enough... or at least interesting enough, to make me reach for the on-switch. The National Geographic Channel has produced a new documentary on near-death experiences called Return from the Dead. I've written several times about NDE's and you can see my thoughts in the background links below; so I eagerly watched this new show, expecting brand new information. Prof. Steven Laureys is an accomplished neurologist from Belgium who is fascinated by NDE's. His own mother had one during complications when giving birth to him. He believes that NDE's are not really a glimpse of a spiritual afterlife and are instead caused by the brain entering a shocked state as a result of being close to death. His hypothesis is not a new one, in fact it's as old as NDE research itself, dating right back to the original critics of Dr Raymond Moody. Prof. Laureys goes on a quest to investigate and see if his belief is true. Unlike many NDE skeptics, he is willing to put himself into altered states of consciousness personally to see if he can have an NDE-like experience. He does this using several methods; to begin with he goes to Poland and takes a ride in a centrifuge used to train fighter pilots. He sees a tunnel of light, similar to that portrayed in Hieronymus Bosch's classic painting Ascent of the Blessed and is described by many NDE-witnesses. Then in London a colleague shows him how to induce hallucinations by using sensory deprivation; and when somebody is in a coma they are definitely deprived sensorially. Then he meets a man in Canada who developed perfect memory after suffering a stroke. This is similar to another feature of the NDE, seeing your whole like flash before you. The doctors MRI scan the man's brain to see that the damage he suffered did indeed allow him total recall of his entire life. The stress of almost dying might be able to do the same. However, can the spiritual and mystical element of the NDE be induced artificially? He meets a woman in Dorset, England who often gets spiritual experiences as a result of temporal lobe epilepsy. Using himself as a guinea pig again, Prof. Laureys takes psilocybin, the active ingredient of magic mushrooms, while having his brain scanned. He also had an induced out-of-body experience. After his jet-set quest around the world, he returns home to Belgium to put all he has learned together by giving false NDE's to thirty voluntary test subjects. At the time of writing, Return from the Dead is available online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBE0i6cXetk.

A friend of mine is a paranormal researcher, and when he saw the programme he wrote this: "Oh dear. Just had my conviction that near-death experiences were all spiritual shot to pieces. Been watching a programme on near-death experiences called Return from the Dead on the National Geographic Channel. It sure as hell painted a very good and sensible picture that all NDE's can be explained away from various things to do with the brain, more notably oxygen and blood starvation to the brain. I've always been aware of these avenues of thought and seen them portrayed on other TV documentaries but this one was probably the best and most informative. Sadly it answered all avenues of the NDE experience. So do I still believe in life after death? Well, I do although I am now more suspicious than ever before than NDE's are but a part of it." I interpret the programme very differently. It actually contains no major new information. All the theories Prof. Steven Laureys addresses are ones discussed by NDE researchers before; see the background links below for more details. Laureys' unique approach is simply to arrange them into a single experiment never done before. My criticism of his hypothesis is also one I've made of others'; the near-death experience has a distinct qualitative element that is not reproduced during attempts to induce the phenomenon artificially. This issue is defined best by a fellow neuroscientist, Dr Andrew Newburg. He explains how hallucinations generated by the methods Laureys uses are similar to dreams in that the test subject can easily discern their drug or hypoxia fantasy from reality because it is simply "less real" that our awake and conscious state of mind, what Dr Rick Strassman calls "Channel Normal". The problem with near-death experiences is that the witnesses relate a very different story from the same comparison yardstick. They say their NDE is "more real" than our awake and conscious state of mind, see: https://youtu.be/LUjumD2Nt2s?t=12m28s. This is beyond what can simply be explained away by context; the claim that surviving a brush with the Grim Reaper gives the NDE pathos it would otherwise lack. The failure of the Aware study has been a major blow to the morale of many scientists who sought after the final proof that NDE's were spiritual; Dr Sam Parnia especially. The skeptics are indeed calling for him and his colleagues to concede that, in this case, absence of evidence really is evidence of absence. However, as I say in my own report, Aware was an incredibly difficult experiment to design. It was loaded with the inevitable shortcomings that are part of its inherent obstacles, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/proof-of-life-after-death.html. No way can this be used as evidence NDE's are not real. National Geographic's Return from the Dead is not as conclusive as it's been billed; in fact it's not even very original. I am not convinced at all by its conclusions, and I hope my friend will reconsider his assessment of the near-death experience that he felt the programme forced on him.

Deutsche Bank Collapse

A new financial waterfall is looming ahead; and, as I've said before in the background links below, these kinds of catastrophes are rarely accidental. This time one of Europe's oldest and biggest banks is in trouble; Deutsche Bank, which means simply "the German Bank". It was founded in 1870 and, very symbolically, has its headquarters in a pair of skyscrapers in Frankfurt called "The Twin Towers". The decline of Deutsche Bank has been a long drawn-out process, very different to the sudden calamity of Lehman Brothers Holdings that marked the start of the Great Recession in 2008. Over the last ten years its stocks have slumped and debt increased. It has suffered numerous scandals, fines and court cases. It began the year with the announcement that it had made record losses of over 6.8 billion Euros. Its shares are now worth just 48% of what they were last year. They've introduced negative interest rates, which means savers are going to lose their money and creditors are going to put pressure on borrowers to pay off what they owe. The bank is now selling their shares desperately at a discount price. I recommend nobody buys any Deutsche Bank shares. If you have one, don't sell it at the moment. If you bought one in 2007 it is now worth just 8% of what it was back then. The bank has announced over nine thousand redundancies in ten countries. With $US 15.8 billion left in capital and an $US 11 billion fine, it is now poised to go the same way as Lehman Brothers. Deutsche Bank is intimately linked to many other financial institutions all over the globe, including all the British and French clearing banks, and the Federal Reserve; and its influence can be felt in every corner of the world. It cannot fail to affect the health of the global economy if it falls. The German chancellor Angela Merkel has called Deutsche Bank "Too big to fail!" Those are fateful words. I feel a sense of deja vu that Anthony Peake would understand. Yes, predictably, Deutsche Bank's executives are already approaching state institutions with their caps in hand to discuss the possibility of a bailout; in other words, getting you and me to prop them up. We haven't even paid off a fraction of the last bailout yet, even if it was a fair thing to do. (Incidentally the entire wealth of the world in raw capital in estimated at about sixty trillion dollars, yet there is over 121 quadrillion dollars floating round as debt and derivative shares! How is that possible?) We might even face a "bail-in" which is even worse; it's the kind of criminal abuse inflicted on the people of Cyprus a few years ago, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/the-bank-robbers-of-cyprus.html. Deutsche Bank have made a public statement saying that they are confident that everything is normal and the worst is behind them, yet this is what Lehman said just weeks before they filed for bankruptcy. If Deutsche Bank tanks then what will happen? Because it is such a hub of the European and world economy then this will inevitably harm the financial lives of everybody everywhere else; on a personal, national and supernational level. There's no doubt we now face a new Great Recession, probably a far worse one than 2008; and, as I've said, this is not just an accidental and inevitable effect of the economic system, or even just financial incompetence. There is extreme monetarism in the modern world. State regulators set exchange rates, interest rates, commodity prices, and much more. Do you really think the state-corporate-fiscal authorities wouldn't be able to rescue their own creations if they wanted to? Why would these authorities want a new and worse recession? Wouldn't they lose money and assets themselves? Of course, but they have so much left they will not suffer. As always, the brunt of the recession will be born by the most financially vulnerable people in society; pensioners, the disabled, the unemployed, those in low paid employment. We will be told we have to face more and deeper "austerity" for the good of all. The bankers have the equivalent of an underground bunker while we, the people, just get blown away in the hurricane. The chaos resulting from yet another major economic crash in the space of a decade will create the perfect situation for what David Icke calls a "problem-reaction-solution". The solution in this case could be a total restructuring of the world economy, beginning with what I've long predicted, a global currency reset, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/back-to-bailout.html. After that? Who knows? However we know what the Illuminati goal is: total resource-based world economic control. They began this a long time ago, at least since the Federal Reserve Act; see G Edward Griffin's The Creature from Jekyll Island. Our only action now has to be the exposure of this agenda to the public. It survives by secrecy alone. Take that away and it is doomed. Fracking Allowed

Fracking has been given the "go-ahead" or "green light"... whichever Orwellian euphemism you prefer, by the government. The test site at Little Plumpton, Lancashire will be allowed to continue operations after the moratorium was imposed in 2011 following the first earthquake in Blackpool for a hundred and ten years. This is not far from Lytham St Annes where the Probe conferences take place. The decision whether or not to resume fracking in Lancashire was originally handed over to the county council, but the county council said no, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/thank-frack-for-that.html. Therefore, out of respect for democracy, the Communities Secretary Sajid Javid overruled the LCC and told them there'd been a change of plan and it wasn't their decision anymore, see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-37567866. This news story is blatantly misleading. We're going to see more and more of this kind of subversion. In 2014 I attended an anti-fracking protest outside Oxfordshire County Council where the council were holding an "informal meeting" about the subject, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/oxon-fracking-protest.html. The self-satisfied and naive officials we lobbied as they walked in don't realize that what they're doing is just for show. At the moment the majority of land in the country is under a PEDL, Petroleum Exploration and Development Licence, either pending or already granted. This is simply an agenda to despoil the environment as part of the "War on Terra". It's not about energy; the figures for the amount of gas in the wells have been grossly overstated, see: http://www.richplanet.net/starship_main.php?ref=178&part=1. What little gas there is, is intended to mix with the chemicals and enter the soil, air and water. A vision of what Britain will end up looking like if we don't put a stop to this can be seen in Ian R Crane's Bases Project Film Festival Award® nominated documentary Voices from the Gasfields, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3K0kV7UcME.

Possible UFO Crash-Retrieval in Belfast

There are reports emerging of a new UFO crash-retrieval. The incident took place last Tuesday in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The source of this information are alleged emails sent to the producer of the "Secure Team" YouTube channel, but I've heard the same thing from an independent source at this weekend's Probe conference who has contacts in the Stormont government, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7WJyZNJus0. The event began with bright lights being seen over the city, which has a population of almost half a million people. This was followed by the sound of an explosion; and a few minutes later police vans appeared and closed several roads. The illustration of that YouTube video is supposedly a photograph of that roadblock. There were also said to be military vehicles in the area including a low-bed lorry of the type used to carry heavy loads on the road. All wi-fi, phone lines and mobile signals were cut off for at least three hundred yards around the location and the police were said to be using metal detectors. There is so far no cover story in the media. Here is the BBC News page for Northern Ireland and there is no mention of any "light aircraft crash", "leak of toxic chemicals" or "weather balloons" etc, see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/northern_ireland. I also tried Googling "Belfast UFO crash" and got nothing recent. Some conspiratorial news sites are disputing the event and think it might have come out of confusion over a political street protest in the Ardoyne district of the city at the same time. However, street protests are very common in Northern Ireland so people should be used to them, see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-37539288. We must be cautious. The case last year of a supposed UFO crash in Canada came to nothing in the end. It floundered from lack of information and, in my view, was probably not real, see: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/new-roswell-in-canada.html. This time the supposed location is far more populous and accessible. Some people doubt that it's possible to successfully suppress such an occurrence in an urban area, but I wonder. It was done to great effect in Varginha and Nottinghamshire, see: http://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/programme-172-podcast-varginha-20.html and: http://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/ben-emlyn-jones-at-ufo-truth-conference.html. The lack of a cover story does not mean the case is closed yet. the local contact says there was a D-notice issued to the media. What's interesting is that the authorities seem to have has limited foreknowledge. We've seen this before, with Mansfield and Berwyn Mountains. The headline news item today is a fairly incredulous-sounding saga about how the celebrity Kim Kardashian was threatened by masked gunmen who broke into her Paris hotel room, see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-37546307. If this is a contrived piece of noise, what signal is it intended to drown out?

Ben Emmerson Suspension

The screwed up, rusty old can of the UK government's "Independent" Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse has been kicked a further down the road yet again. This time they know they can't get away with a fourth resignation of the chairman, so they have instead suspended the chief legal counsel for the case. Ben Emmerson QC studied law at Oxford and is an expert in international crime and human rights issues. He is one of the most expert and experienced solicitors in the country and so was the ideal choice for the child abuse inquiry when he was appointed in 2014. The inquiry made a statement that it had "recently become very concerned about aspects of Ben Emmerson QC's leadership" without specifying what those concerns are. Mr Emmerson himself has made no comment. While he is under investigation he probably won't be allowed to. Nevertheless, there are rumours circulating that Emmerson has clashed with the new chairwoman, Prof. Alexis Jay, over the direction the inquiry is taking. I can guess what his concerns might be. The last thing the inquiry needs, from their point of view, is a whistleblower who goes public with evidence that the inquiry is deliberately dragging its heels and is set up to fail. Even if this is not Emerson's intention, this action plays for time. Child abuse survivors like Ian McFadyen call this a "devastating blow" and has described progress so far as "catastrophe after catastrophe". No doubt my friend Brian Clare will feel the same way.
