Record Saved

I have a very happy update on the background article above. The owners of the Roswell Daily Record have negotiated a rescue package. The New Mexico News Group is a media network that publishes a number of journals including the Santa Fe Reporter. It has agreed to purchase the RDR. This means not only that the famous newspaper will continue to be published, but that it will remain with a local publisher unique to the state of New Mexico and not some multinational conglomerate. The deal was brokered by Pat Davis of the Albuquerque City Council. He is also the founder of Ctrl+P Publishing, a partner of the NMNG. There will be inevitable changes to the business model though. The Record will be primarily a digital platform, free with ads and without a paywall. For old times' sake there will still be a paper weekly featuring unique local content... which will no doubt include any UFO crashes, should any more occur. There is also a crowdfunding campaign supporting this project by the "Citizen Media Group" which is trying to reverse the worrying trend in the United States towards the abolition of local journalism. To say that I am pleased by this outcome would be an understatement. This wonderful circulation of UFO history will continue.
