CVD Hug-Fest

A meeting has taken place between four statesmen: Rhun ap Iorwerth, First Minister of Wales; Michelle O'Neil, First Minister of Northern Ireland; John Swinney, First Minister of Scotland and Mary Lou McDonald, President of Sinn Féin and leader of the opposition in the Republic of Ireland. They met in Cardiff and had a discussion about how all the so-called, and wrongly called, "Celtic" nations are now led by pro-independence politicians. "Westminster's time is coming to an end!" they said and called upon the UK government to prepare for constitutional change giving their respective countries more devolution and self-determination. This was called "the 2026 Cardiff Agreement". After that they no doubt cried on each other's shoulders and fell to the floor kicking and screaming about how the world would be a paradise if it wasn't for the "bloody English!" I noted the other day that Argentina has the same problem, a foundational and deeply embedded myth that drives the culture and political tide of the country; even though it is completely false, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2026/09/national-myths.html. These national myths are incredibly difficult to dislodge and debunk. Simply explaining them or appealing to reason rarely works. People you are talking to generally will either walk away or respond with an angry ad-hominem: "What would you know!? You haven't suffered like we have!" As I've said before, this sense of suffering and being oppressed is extremely addictive. Like feminists, the Welsh, Scots and Irish have a love-hate relationship with it. It is a core element of their national identity and even, in a strange way, their self-esteem, see here for details: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2025/02/irish-cvd-bull.html and: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2024/10/cvd-is-ruining-wales.html. I predict with confidence that if the time ever came when you could truly lift the burden of the CVD from their shoulders they would fight to defend it, Matrix style. Living life without that narcissistic sense of entitlement would be a struggle for them. The worst thing about the CVD, and this Cardiff Agreement to which it has given birth, is that eager expansionist eyes in Brussels will be watching it closely and will understand what's really going on. This is exactly what the European Union wants to hear. All of the politicians in Cardiff have a desperate longing to be free of the United Kingdom, but no such desire to be free of the EU; on the contrary. A split UK will quickly lead to Wales, Scotland and a reunited Ireland being sucked into the maw of the globalist superstate. Those four idiots in Cardiff cannot even comprehend the terrible fate that awaits their countries. As for England, it will be easier to deal with once it is alone. This is why it is vital for the people of Britain and Ireland, whichever nation you live in, to resist the Cardiff Agreement. If your leaders are oblivious to the danger then you must replace them. The good news, in Wales at least, is that confidence in the Welsh government is at an all-time low, see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2024/01/visiting-senedd.html. Less than ten percent of Welsh people want full independence from Westminster and even what we've been given so far has turned sour in our mouths. In Scotland and Northern Ireland it is different. Scotland had a referendum a few years ago that came down with a narrow victory for the unionists, see: https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/2014/09/programme-104-podcast-scottish.html. We can only hope calmer heads prevail. Being a British unionist is no longer an imperialistic position; it is the opposite. Brexit means that Britain has led the new and real anti-colonial struggle against the real empire of the 21st century.

  1. The people of the "Celtic" nations have been gaslit by their respective faux nationalist parties since those parties came into existence. They are seeking to replace government which is remote and difficult to hold to account at Westminster with governance which is even more remote and impossible to hold to account in Brussels or Strasbourg. That's a direction of travel which is counter-nationalistic. Their representatives at Westminster can never be more than a minority but sometimes the parliamentary arithmetic can make their voting decisive. At Strasbourg they are an insignificant minority in a talking shop which can do little more than advise the unelected EU Commission.

    1. Quite so, MT. That's a good summary. I had a lot of angry responses when I first raised this issue, but they have quietened a bit. Maybe the penny is dropping.

  2. Suddenly, Shropshire is looking more and more attractive over West Wales ‘Jokers to the left of me’ or whatever the saying is.

  3. I'm not going to attempt to voice an opinion on the Welsh or Scottish but if you don't understand the deep rooted mistrust at the mildest through to hatred of the English by the Irish you really need to read the 850 years of occupation through until the 1916 uprising by the English of Ireland and the brutal colonialism that was practiced on the Island and exported globally to form the 'British Empire'. The famine that was wholly caused by the exporting of food to England during the potato blight causing the deaths of millions of Irish and the departure of many to save their families. Then we get to the 'troubles' following the partitions where part of the Island was carved off to remain 'British' in the form of N.Ireland. Any reasonable person would understand there will always be resentment. Are you old enough to remember the 'No Blacks, No Irish, no dogs' signs of the 60's/70's? in England?

    1. No, before my time. The thing is, the world has changed since those times. England is now the same as any other country. We no longer have national empires; we have globalist superstates. Now, the Irish Scottish and Welshmen like me can indulge ourselves with fantasies that we are living in the past and be conquered and enslaved by those globalists, or we can take the necessary step of resisting in this new struggle against a new occupier, a new colonist, one that is treating the English just as badly.

    2. I'm old enough to remember there were no signs saying 'No Blacks, No Irish, no dogs' in 60's/70's England. Any such sign would have become illegal in 1968.

  4. Hi, MT. Yes, that was when the Race Relations Act was passed.
