I'm sad to report that Dr Peter Fenwick has died. For a man
who dedicated his life to researching near-death experiences, it's poignant to
think he has now experienced the complete real thing himself. Dr Fenwick was a neuroscientist
who originally studied epilepsy. He did much of his clincal work at the Radcliffe
Infirmary in Oxford , before the
unit moved to the John Radcliffe site. His work on NDE's was marked by what he
called a "wider view", open to the possibility of survival. Source: https://bialfoundation.com/com/agregador-noticias/posts/prof-peter-fenwick/.
I first came across him in David Malone's outstanding Testing God documentary, see: https://youtu.be/sphbEePVBKo?si=V7ao9fi01I3c8mPN&t=793.
He wrote numerous books and in the last few years set up a YouTube channel,
with the help of his grandson, see: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCveuJR3knHlJuLjz_XkC3vQ.
He was clearly a genuine and sincere person. One of his friends was Dr Susan
Blackmore, somebody who studies NDE's as much as he did, but rejects suvival,
see: https://hpanwo-tv.blogspot.com/2024/01/nde-smoking-gun.html;
so he was obviously not mean and beligerant. He was perfectly capable of
defending his postion against the most ardent naysayers. Dr Fenwick gave the
gift to so many people of fascination and inspiration; but, even more important,
hope and comfort. I hope his loved ones find some of that at this time. He
passed away peacefully last Friday at the age of eighty-nine. Rest in Peace, Dr
Fenwick.
