Bryan Adams- Possible Mandela

I've always liked Bryan Adams, the Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist who has been active since the 1980's. I consider his early work the best he's ever done, especially his albums Waking Up the Neighbours and Reckless. There's a track on one of those two I remember really enjoying. It is called Lost in You and was released as a single. It has a very interesting video involving time-lapse shots. I remember watching it on TV. It's many years since I heard it and watched the video, so thought I'd look it up on YouTube... only to find that it doesn't exist! This could possibly be a new Mandela Effect. I predicted last month that we may well see more people with the Mandela Effect and even some new emergent ones, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2022/07/lhc-run-three.html. I need help, readers. Do any of you remember that song and video? I know I may have made a mistake, like I did previously. I confused a video by Madness with one from The Human League. Yes, memory is not perfect and errors inevitably affect it, especially over long periods of time, see: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2021/03/mandela-effect-experiment.html and: https://hpanwo-voice.blogspot.com/2021/03/mandela-effect-experiment-update.html. I might have made a similar mistake this time, but that's why I'm asking for help. If many of you also remember that song and it truly cannot be identified, it becomes very interesting indeed. Get in touch.

  1. Not the 1988 Rod Stewart track of the same name then? The Song sounds quite derivative of Bryan Adams style but the video doesn’t fit.

I had my own personal Mandela effect recently with the James Bond movie Casino Royale. Bond (Daniel Craig) checks into a hotel and poses as a valet in order to create a distraction. Once he has got the information he needs, Bond tears off the epaulettes on his white shirt (to look less like he is wearing a uniform) before checking in as a guest. I’d rewatched this movie several time over the years but upon my last viewing of this scene, the epaulettes remain intact. I checked 2 different sources and it appears that the detail of the scene that I remember just doesn’t exist anymore.

  2. Yellowbentine, you might have it! Not only is the song title correct, but the time-lapse shots, especially the one at 1.27, are very close to my memory. Looks like I'll have to do an update next article!

Interesting James Bond Mandela Effect there. I've not seen that film (only the original spoof of that title with Peter Sellers) . There are several Mandelas in JB, most famously the young woman in Moonraker who has, or has not, braces on her teeth. It would have been better to have given her braces because it would have added a lot of pathos to the scene where she first meets Jaws. It would have given the two of them an affinity which would have been very touching. A lot of people recall her dental braces, but I do not. They are not there, at least in THIS universe.

    Thanks for the information!

  3. Hi Ben and Yellowbentine,

The Casino Royal clip could have been remembered from a trailer maybe? I have noticed several times when scenes depicted in trailers were not in the actual film. Or even clips in a music video like GnR's You Could Be Mine from Terminator 2 where the Skeletal T1000 cyborgs are shown in a production line for example.

I'm sure I also "remember" the braces scene in Moonraker and thinking "aww that's nice, see - there's someone for everyone" :)

  4. Hi Gavin.
So you've got that one too? It's very common. Some people even recall people in the cinema laughing at the joke.

  5. Hi Ben,
I've just looked and there are a number of video clips on YouTube of her with braces but as we know, it's very easy to manipulate video these days. I have Moonraker on BluRay, maybe I will check that over the weekend.

On a smiliar note, I was talking to 2 ladies yesterday about classic TV and they brought up the Captain Pugwash "naughty names" which of course is an urban myth but a lot of people I talk to about it swear blind that they remember seeing/hearing it in the program when first broadcast. I have a VHS (yes VHS!) of Captain Pugwash and can confirm that the "naughty names" are not used at all! Apparently a jouralist in the early 80s made these names up and they have lived on in folklore ever since.

  6. Hi Gavin.
At the age when I liked Captain Pugwash those innuendoes would have gone right over my head anyway!

Yes, videos can be manipulated, but in this case the girl definitely does not have braces. To have changed that physically would mean altering every single copy of Moonraker ever sold, including the dusty old VHS' you might have in your attic.

  7. Dolly, never had braces in the film. There was however a Finnish advert featuring her and jaws where she did. This advert was shown around the world on TV shows for its comic value.

  9. Ha! That was entertaining. Is that the same woman? That ad predates the emergence of the Mandela Effect and no doubt it could be suggested that it gave birth to the Moonraker one.
