  1. Hi Ben, was just listening to the recent Mindset podcast where Gareth talks about the Unexplained magazine series from the 80s. I don't remember that particular one as I was too young. Speaking of magazines, but do you remember a paranormal/unexplained/mysteries magazine that came out in the late 90s called The X Factor (not to be confused with the the reality show lol). There were 96 issues in total with binders for each. It came out right at the when there were many unexplained/UFO related shows on TV and many UFO reports around the country, and because of this the magazine caught my attention and I had to buy them, and all 96 issues of this magazine I still have in mint condition. I'm surprised this magazine never gets mentioned. I don't remember adverts on TV at the time promoting the mag, otherwise I would never have known about it no internet back then). It was published by Marshall Cavendish. It covered all kinds of subjects, even mentioned NWO and secret societies and reptilians, but strangely there's no mention of David Icke.

  2. Hi Anon.
Yes, I remember The X-Factor very well. There were TV ads for it. I read all the issues. It was more conspiratorial than The Unexplained and clearly was published in the wake of the X-Files, which was highly popular at the time, the late 90's. This was about the time I began taking a serious interest in the subjects. I don't know why they never brought up David Icke. Maybe he was considered too weird even for them! Or maybe it was because the ADL and its associates were already spreading rumours of his alleged antisemitism (false, of course). I'd hang on to those mags; they may be worth a lot of money!

  3. Yep The X Factor magazine really got me hooked on the subjects of UFOs, ghosts, mysteries (Atlantis, Egyptian mysteries etc), cover ups, etc. I was initially intterested This was at a time when we had TV shows like Dark Skies on TV, Strange But True, the BBC1 show The X Creatures and other shows like Future Fantastic (where I first became aware of Bob Lazar). Yes I think it's likely they never bothered with David Icke purely because of his controversial reputation he had at that time with regards to his theories about the royal family being reptilians, something which I'm sure they would've been aware of. Too much for an official paranormal/unexplained magazine to talk about.

They could well indeed be worth alot of money. There is the full set on ebay here:

The only thing I don't have with them is all the binders. I bought the first binder but not the best (I either couldn't be bothered with them or they were too price), but I do have very single issue, including a special issue about Roswell which included a VHS documentary. I think there was also another video but for some reason I never got that.

I am in the process of scanning every magazine in as a PDF to maybe put on a disc for safekeeping or for anyone who wants to read them.

  4. That's a great idea. I'm sure plenty of people would, including me. It would bring back memories for sure!
