MLK Cancelled

 

With the tsunami of outrage thuggery that very few people or organizations have the courage to stand up to, a number of historical figures are "under reconsideration". Among these are Lord Nelson, Winston Churchill and Mahatma Gandhi. Statues of these individuals have been vandalized, books about them have been removed from libraries and streets, buildings and institutions named after them have been given new names. The latest individual nominated for the wrongthink list surprised me, at first glance; but when I thought about it, it made perfect sense. Martin Luther King Jr used to be one of the left's greatest heroes... in the past; but in recent years the modern left has shed its cuddly facade and has gone full Stalin. MLK might have led a civil rights struggle against unjust segregation laws... but he was religious. He was in fact a devout Christian and earned the title Reverend. He was also what would be called today a "misogynist!", cheating on his wife many times, sometimes with prostitutes. One day, a teenage boy desperately wrote to him for help revealing: "I am a boy, but I feel about other boys the way I ought to feel about girls." Dr King gave him advice on how he could be "cured". Probably Martin Luther King's worst crime was his most famous moment. On the 28th of August 1963 he gave a speech at a street protest in Washington DC in which he said: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character." Unfortunately in the modern world we are being told continuously that a person absolutely should be judged by the colour of their skin! In fact the content of their character is determined by the colour of their skin! A new civil rights struggle has broken out in the modern world. This time it is white people, men and heterosexuals who are on the receiving end of hatred, bigotry, discrimination and oppression. No rational defence will break through the wall of mindless frenzy. In fact the left's descent into genocidal madness has reached a new nadir. They've come up with the theory of "multiracial whiteness". I'm not sure there is a peaceful solution to this social bear pit we've been thrown into, but if we can be saved from the flames of civil war, maybe the latest overreach of "cancel culture" will expose its insanity before it's too late.
