Utah Monolith Demolition

It is possible that the mystery of how the Utah monolith disappeared will soon be solved. A photographer called Ross Bernards has posted on social media that they witnessed the destruction of the artefact and has even published photographs claiming to depict the action. On Friday evening Ross and a few of his friends went to visit the monolith and to begin with they were alone; but then another group approached and Ross' expedition chose to step aside so the ravine with the monolith did not become too crowded. The four men taunted Ross' group over whether or not they had photos of the object and then proceeded to push the monolith over. One of them added: "This is why you don't leave trash in the desert." echoing the BLM's statement about constructing something in a national park without planning permission. The four newcomers then took the structure apart. The men had no tools with them, but they had brought a wheelbarrow to carry the pieces in, so they obviously went to the site with the intention of destroying the monolith. What has happened to the pieces or who the four demolition crewmen were is unknown. The photograph of their work is badly lit and not very well focused or exposed, but it shows two figures beside a horizontal object that resembles the Utah monolith. One of its facets has been removed and the interior is visible. It looks hollow. It also seems to have a triangular section at both ends, not just the top. Ross' description does not mention them leaving behind one of the end pieces or building the cairn; maybe somebody else built it. Another separate report from Saturday morning claims that there was a urine puddle there too and the words scrawled in the sand: "Bye, bitch". At the same time another object has appeared a long distance away that closely resembles the Utah monolith. It was also erected anonymously in Piatra Neamt, Romania. Unlike its American counterpart, the Romanian one is not concealed and has been prominently displayed on top of a hill. Based on the photographs, I would say this monolith looks as if it is made from cardboard covered in tin foil instead of riveted metallic plates. Are we going to see a real life meme-craze of mystery monoliths all over the world now? We still have many questions left that need answering. Is Ross Bernards' story a true and accurate explanation of the demise of the Utah monolith? And who built the object in the first place, and why?
