I will be speaking at the Mablethorpe Group on Monday the
7th of September. My lecture will be entitled: Zombies, Viruses and what the
government really know! Zombies
are well-known figures of mythology and horror fiction, and their profile is
steadily increasing in recent books and films. However more and more they have
been appearing in the media and in official government publications portrayed
as real or semi-real. What’s going on? The venue is: The Dunes Complex
(which room they use will depend on how many people confirm attending), Central
Promenade, Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire LN12 1RG. The event starts at 7.30 PM . There is no entrance fee, but the
organizers request a voluntary donation.

What exactly is 'The Mablethorpe Group'? I am wondering if this is some sort of secret or closed group although I guess you would not have posted this if it was. You say which room they use depends on how many confirm they are attending which kind of implies no-one from the general public is expected to turn up or is particularly welcome? It all seems a bit mysterious since I can find no information whatsoever about this group online.
ReplyDeleteLOL, MT. Yes, I'd better find a late night mask and costume shop! :-D The group is actually open to the public, yet it has no online site. If you want to know more, take a look at the video recordings of the previous event linked below. I have my own versions on HPANWO TV, although the lecture is lower quality.
DeleteThanks for your reply Ben. I've seen the 'licence fee' video before and very good it is too. I found this page:

I'm still a bit mystified since the owner of the Dunes Complex is in the comments saying the event is private and he doesn't even inform his staff about it. This is the only one of your live venues I stand any chance of getting to (its only about 25 miles away) so I will risk it and just turn up if it isn't ticketed.
It would be great to meet you! Please do. I'll ask Sarah the organizer about your concerns.
DeleteShe says yes absolutely turn up. It helps to know in advance how many people are likely to be there so they know which room to use.
